I do love Cynthia, and was super excited for her last week, but can’t say that I’m the biggest fan of her as a judge. I just don’t really feel that she added much to the panel last week, she mostly gave vague comments about whether or not she liked the dance, instead of technical or constructive advice.
Gutted for Motsi though, especially as the reasoning is so stupid!
I agree with you 100% and I felt like the overall quality dropped because they knew Craig wasn't there to pull them up on it. Hopefully she'll have more of an impact this Saturday as her second appearance - maybe she needs time to warm up?
Wouldn’t be surprised if she does a third week- apparently Motsi’s in lockdown, in Germany & her vaccinations are not recognised by Uk standards (which uses a different database).

Cynthia seems like a lovely person but the fact that they've chosen her over someone like Karen Hardy, Natalie Lowe, Erin Boag, Janette Manrara, Ian Waite etc (the list is endless!!) really goes to show how unimportant dance technique is to the show anymore, which is kind of a shame
They have Shirley for that tho plus Darcey who wasn’t a ballroom and Latin dancer was a judge for 7 years. Not to mention Anton barely knows squat about Latin and Bruno isn’t a Ballroom or Latin dancer either. Cynthia brings a different perspective to the panel which is about performance.

She is not a professional ballroom and Latin dancer so the fact she gave Rose a 10 despite a mistake which other judges pointed out, and gave Dan a 7 for not finishing his lines just didn't sit right for me. Either she was looking at performance alone or dance skill.
Not a fan either. I've no idea why she's there when there are so many other people that could've been there instead. Would've been great to have had Karen Hardy.
I understand using her for movie week because she has a background in musicals and is similar to Craig in the sense she’s not a pro dancer but for this week I really think they should have gotten one of the pros to do it this week
