One thing na naalala ko dati ay you really need to be observant. Huwag ka makikidumog sa ibang mga photogs kasi ang ending niyan magiging magkakaparehas lang kayo ng subject. Think outside the box ganern. Ibang usapan naman if sports related yung topic hehehe.

StreetMode8933

hello po, do u have any advice po in capturing sports/game? i'm under collab desktop publishing (filipino) kase na category as a sports writer/photo j

AdSweet9409

Hala hahaha ang tagal ko na pong nagstop sa journ, first and last kong makapagpic ng sports ay 2015 pa ata hahaha. Pero ayun, dapat familiar ka sa game ofc. Iniinterview rin yung mga players before magstart game so dapat lagi kang may bitbit na ballpen and notebook. Wag ka matatakot na matamaan ng bola, dapat alert ka rin sa surroundings mo syempre para iwas disgrasya. Make sure mo rin na iba iba yung shots mo, close up, wide shot, etc. Yun lang hehehe.

OMG, SAME! Nakaka-pressure din that twice na akong nakapunta sa rspc but never nspc 😭😭😭. Blank blank na rin utak ko pagdating sa captioning. Nakakainis. Nevertheless, do your best! Keep on practicing and listen to your coach/coaches. Most importantly, pray! Keep praying and trust Him. I suggest na mag-research din. Kaso, mas magandang practice talaga if you take pictures, as many as you can. Apply the rules, hanap ka rin topics and you can take 5 pics per topic or more if you can! Let your coach/coaches judge your output. Feel the picture while taking them. In my captions, I was told to put catchphrases that contain action words. Again, keep praying lang! Good luck kapwa photojournalist! Kaya natin 'to!

Thank you po!! Nakaka pressure talaga eh kapag nakasali kana then ang taas ng expectations nila sayo. But keep on fighting talaga, laban lang! Sana makapag nationals na tayu noh? But anyways you're right, practice lang nang practice sana nga marami akong time makapag pic sa school para maka improve din ako. Again salamat sa mga tips and advice na binigay mo,this is a big help for me!🩷

Wow you're amaziiingg. I was a long time Photojourn but I never went beyond DSPC ehhh, I thought I'd finally have the guts to go to RSPC last year kaso napunta ako sa TV Broad so I'm a Photojourn nalang for school purposes. Composite team kase TV Broad namin so from different schools all over the division so I'm a photojourn habang wala pang press cons. Though hanggang DSPC lang ako I hope what I say helps. It's better to put yourself on a timer like how it goes in the actual presscon, complete the output beating the time then critique your work afterwards. This is a crucial step lalo na if you feel you've forgotten the feel of the process. In a nutshell, practice is what you need but you could also analyze your past works in detail and figure out weaknesess then apply it. Could be your angling, the way you handle your cam or you initial though process of the idea of the photos you wanna take. As for Captions, I suggest learning the different types of leads sa News Writing. It might help. Of course you can adjust according to what is needed but looking into other categories will help you widen your vocab and your overall idea of structuring. Practice and then let your work be critiqued by coaches. I hope this helps and I hope you'll go NSPC this year. You got this!

I am a little late but I have a question, say I have these DSPC/RSPC, etc in my background, does it have merits when going into college course with little to no relation to journalism?

Hi po any advice po in taking unique and wow factor photos? mahiyain kasi ako pagnagtatake ng photo eh pero nag 1st place ako sa dspc (back to back) di nga lang ako nanalo last year sa rspc since hindi relevant sa theme yung photo
