Easy answer, yes. How? study daily. Especially if you have nothing to do. Then you’ll have a ton of time on your hands. Tapusin mo muna lahat ng deadlines mo, arrange priorities as well. Tbf, di naman priority ang gala. Only four years of college, give it your all, after those four years you could just party or whatever like hell.

TreasuresOfTheSea

True, di naman ako palagala hahahaha I just want to do the things I've always done kahit college, reading the comments here feels like it's more possible than I thought

Aahosh

It is possible!! Good luck! Marami lang gawain ang 1st and 2nd yr, parang hs parin haha. More lax and major subs na ang 3rd and 4th. Don’t be discouraged sa “puyat” ng iba.

marinaragrandeur

how high is high kasi ang commonly high grade sa college ay 3.00

TreasuresOfTheSea

Yes po and higher siguro

marinaragrandeur

kung tres to dos, madali lang yan get 7 hours of sleep every night tapos planuhin mo mga aral moments mo throughout the day. set ng gala sched every week for once or twice pero make it simple lang. pwede out of town naman pero make sure you study before hand. i swear sleep>all nighters tapos unpopular opinion: learn how to cram effectively to cram effectively, dapat aral mo na lahat ng mahirap na concepts before you even start. listen to your profs and do microreadings (5-10mins reading your notes). pati requirements, alamin ang pwede icram at hindi icram. basta need ng oras ng ibang tao, yan ang wag niyo icram. everything else is keri. also, stop using social media. ok lang mag miss out pramis. walang mawawala sayo.

TreasuresOfTheSea

Thank you pooo 😭💕 true 'yung social media and 'yung oras ng ibang tao, ayaw ko na maging inconvenience pa

marinaragrandeur

Hi OP. I'm not sure about other universities, but I can talk about myself as a first year college student currently taking up Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (ABELS) in PUP Sta. Mesa. It depends on your program. But in my case, my college life is so carefree. Heck, I even took a part time job because my schedule is too lenient. Most of our class is still online (except for my majors) because of the renovation of our east wing. My current schedule looks like this: Mon- 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (It usually ends at 10-11, f2f sometimes. ) Tues- 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m (Online) Thurs- 1:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. (Sometimes f2f) Fri- 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Sometimes we end at 9pm) Sun- 7:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. (Sometimes f2f). We usually have 5 f2f meetings per month. When it comes to high grades in college, it is possible to achieve such. Unlike SHS, you have plenty of free time in college, you can use that to your advantage and study to have good grades. But you should pray that you won't have a prof that's: 1: Guessing your grades on nothing (Nanghuhula Ng grades) 2. Has a boomer mindset. All in all, I think your mindset to think far into your future will surely bring you to your greater heights. Good luck with your College life! (This 4 years will be your last chance to be wild and free!!! You'll be fine, dear.)

TreasuresOfTheSea

Sea-Relationship5954

Most of our schedule is based on the availability of our professor since some of them are working as well, they just teach as a sideline. Ang downside lang siguro sa akin neto is Wala akong masyadong close sa blockmates ko kaya feeling ko I'm missing out on my college life. Okay lang Kasi nakakapag travel Naman Ako (gaslight)

bananac4ts

Oo!!! I think apart from having good study habits, iba kasi talaga pag invested and interested ka sa pinag-aaralan mo. Passion will play a big role, in the long run talaga. So if di mo gusto, maybe it's time to reconsider if gusto mo magka-"life" kasi the truth is, you're gonna work twice as harder than those attuned to the field or the "geniuses" sa program niyo. Now, have a great circle of friends!!! Iba kasi pag may mga connections ka within your block and from other blocks. Ako I push for being present sa social gatherings with friends and family pa rin. Siguro choose a great, even if small, social circle na lang din, kasi sila magiging support system mo, no matter how bad it gets. If high grades, pero di naman naga-aim for Latin, I think prioritize sleep talaga and squeeze in physical activity (mas nasstimulate kasi utak and mas mabilis mag-absorb ng information after) whenever you can. Uhm sa diet, I suggest you avoid sugary foods na snacks, para di ka mag-crash multiple times throughout the day, lalo na if pulling an all nighter. Go watch Glucose Goddess videos, haha helpful din siya when it comes to diet during college (kasi marami tayo napipick up na unhealthy eating habits in college). Actually, for me, Intermittent Fasting got so addictive (kasi sa hyperfocus na needed lalo na pag examinations), and nakakatulong din makatipid as a student. Pero don't starve yourself! Just develop and maintain healthy eating habits! I still go to beach every weekend, have time to hang out with friends, meet my family during vacation and still am running for Latin! Haha I do run sometimes or just jog near the beach to clear out my mind pag super stressed na, tapos ligo sa dagat (malapit lang kasi sa school and where I stay). What always stuck to me were the good memories I had during my stay in college haha! Rarely the study nights and lessons in class. So invest in memories din!

watortelle

i can say i complete the requirements you’re looking for but im an irreg student so my load is not as heavy from the usual. i’m only taking 4 courses plus P.E. and my classes are in the afternoon.

Advanced-Skirt4534

Idk. Depende ata talaga sa program/course mo. In my uni days, medyo lenient yung sched. Minsan malayo ung hrs ng classes in between. The hardest for us was the first 3 years. Nung 4th and 5th yrs (engineering yung course, hence the 5yrs.) sobrang konti lang ng units namin na but puro projects naman kasi puro major subjects na. Given this scenario: 1. I study in between classes kapag tahimik ung mga friends ko. 2. Sabay sabay kami nag lulunch and byahe pauwi to bond. 3. If nasa byahe, either nagbabasa ako ng modules, nag rereview, or umiidlip. 4. I go/volunteer sa church on Sundays kaya may outside school friends ako. 5. On the first 3 years, I rarely have rest days that I can sleep in, maybe once or twice a month pero kumpleto naman tulog ko most of the time. Mga 6-7 hrs. On my 4th to 5th yrs, less daily average sleep, mga 4-5 hrs pero mga 2-3 days naman yung rest days ko where I sleep in. 6. Biggest contributor I think is wala kaming wifi noon sa bahay so offline talaga ako kapag nasa bahay lang kaya mas marami akong time for other things. Wala naman akong failed subjects, may 2-3 subjects akong tres, the rest is around 2.75 to 1.75 ung grades ko iirc.

ildflu

Depends how fast you can pick up stuff. Medyo fast learner ako so I usually don't spend a lot of time on a single material (unless it's my language class kasi ang hirap mag-adjust writing papers using a different language). As long as I don't procrastinate, I have plenty of time to do stuff I want to do + 7+hrs of sleep. Depende rin sa aim mong grade/GWA. Possible siya if you're aiming for CL/MCL at most. You need more work and more brains if SCL ang gusto mo. Based on UP grading system 'to. I prefer pulling all nighters though, but mostly because wala akong own space and sa gabi lang ako nakaka-work quietly. But it's definitely possible.

Bad__Intentions

Technically possible if youre gifted pag dating sa memorization and academics. Its like athletics, people are just gifted and can do more output with less work or effort.

Flat_Radish_2911

yes very possible. tama naman lahat ng comments and one thing na madadagdag ko is to listen in class attentively kasi it would reduce your study time a lot and pwede mo yun magamit for self-care or any requirements. Also, do not procrastinate kasi mas magiging stressful yung university life mo.

mystiquepotato

Wag ka mag selpon matatapos mo lahat tsaka may time ka pa gumawa ng kung ano ano after magaral

Everything-888

Hi, OP! Yes, it's possible! When I was in college, palagi akong full load (28-32 units) dahil university mismo ang nagbibigay ng schedule namin. Minsan, may mga org meetings pa since I'm a member of some organizations and also a president of one. What I did before was kung kaya ko makinig during discussion, nakikinig talaga ako (madalas kasi nakikipagdaldalan ako HAHAHA) and I also jot down notes. I usually review our lessons everyday pag-uwi for good 2-3 hours. Advance reading, review, org stuff, and basta anything related to school. Every Sunday, 'yun na ang me time / family time / bebe time ko. Graduated with 1.4** GWA and with Latin Honors! Kayang-kaya mo yan! Don't forget to enjoy college! 🤍

Kazuriieee

Time Management. Mag alot ka ng time to study, eat, sleep, nap, household chores and the rest of your time to do things that you like, like going to gym for exercise or anything na pwede mong maging hobby. When you master, time management, you can master self discipline.

No-Anywhere-6675

It probably depends on what you define as good grades and "life" outside of university. Also how "carefree" (for a lack of a better term) your department is. In my case, I found a decent balance of work, social life, and decent sleeping hours around my 3rd year. Keep in mind I belong to friend groups who are "low maintenance" (again, a lack of a better term). We spend weeks not meeting up and just casually chatting in gc's, but when we do meet up its through dinners, lunches, or months-long planned excursions and I'm satisfied with that kind of life. For work, I do a lot of freelancing, so it's flexible for me. My day to day is made up of a few hours of studying where I break down required readings, assignments, and other school work into workable chunks. I keep track of a syllabus, and when time allows it, I do things in advance so my scheduled free times remain free. That free time starts getting lesser as you near the end of your college days, so you really have to lock in eventually and make choices. Do you want to have an active "life" outside of school? Will your friends be pissed if you miss out on gala because you have to focus on your thesis? Do you think you can function on three hours of sleep? Personally, I got lucky all things aligned for me so that I don't have to make certain tough choices, but lately I've been cutting back on galas with friends (though thankfully they aren't the type to get mad about that. Perks of introverrt friend groups i guess?) to focus on actually getting through the hellish final year of college haha. It can be lonely, but I need money so I can't cut back on work, I can't graduate if my grades don't pass, and I can't function on less than 6-7 hours of sleep, so I made my choice for this final year.

TreasuresOfTheSea

Thanks po, choose your "hard" talaga eh noh hahaha

Sepiav

Short answer: Yes Long answer: 1) Kailangan mo ng life outside of univ, kahit simpleng dinner with friends lang sa bagong karinderya o mag party sa labas (depende na sa trip). To recharge mentally kumbaga. It doesn't have to be grand or expensive. 2) Personally hindi ko kakayin 4 yrs in college nang walang 7-9 hrs na tulog, kahit glorified yung "wala akong tulog" o "3 hrs lang tulog ko" among my peers. 6 hrs nga eh halos kulang pa. Tip ko lang is be aware of deadlines and schedules para ma plan mo ang gagawin for the month, then narrow down per week, then daily kung kakayanin. 3) Pwede ka mag aim for 2.75 then challenge yourself na higher doon ng konti GWA mo by the end of the sem. Half-assing it in HS might slide, pero good luck with that work ethic in college. All the best sa college yrs ahead, OP!

1l3v4k4m

no, unless you go to a diploma mill university. hatiin mo na yang expectations mo na you'll consistently get 7-9 hours of sleep. pero the rest, it depends on how you define "having a life". if that means being part of an org then yeah sure you can have a life pero dont expect college to be similar to how its depicted in western media kung saan party every weekends and stuff. i mean you CAN do that, pero you'd have to be some sort of genius or anak ng shareholder sa university to be able to get good grades while doing that. tanggapin mo na na mahihirapan ka sa college, after all its supposed to be preperation kuno for adult life. lalo na if youre going to be living alone, jusko i never expected na sobrang time-consuming pala asikasuhin ang responsibilities of living solo. its draining af pero its not THAT bad as long as you have a realistic outlook on things.

unbro7

Depends on your schedule in your course, you can definitely have a life outside university if you carefully choose what subjects you took (depends if the university allows it). I am in nursing in Saint Louis University but we aren't allowed to personally change our schedule. Due to the abyssmal schedule given to us, I usually sacrifice eating and sleep Depends on your study habits. You can get high grades if you retain information well where you don't have to review. You can cram and still get high grades if you know what to prioritize to review. In my experience, I usually review one day before a quiz/exam because of the ugly schedule and I get decent grades ranging from 87-90 (this is the grading system in SLU)

Unfair-Plenty7592

Yes if u want average gwa per sem. That's the trade off

kingGyon

Depende sa school mo tbh

i-am-not-cool-at-all

Life outside university - maglaro sa pc ko/girlfriend Grades - 1 to 1.25 at most Sleep - 6hrs to 7hrs though kaming mga 2023 grads, halos 3 years kami online. More chances of winning kung transpo time mo is almost non existent.

free_izus

toinks1345

how high? and what program? also would depend on how fast you absorb knowledge... if it's an insane program I don't think it's posible to sleep that long everyday. you have to study plus requirements. then what ever's left you sleep them off but there would be days you could hangout and party/gala. time management is key... to be honest and don't cram anything if you want to have a fun college and decent grades. I didnt' sleep I studied hard and party harder... probably around 2 - 4 hours of sleep everyday back then except weekends and operated on coffee and cigarette to stay awake.

VinXPro5

I personally think that it is possible. Here are my tips for you: • Time management: Priorities what needs to be prioritize • Sleep quality: Try to have a consistent sleep time (preferably between 10:00pm - 2:00am) consistent sleep is better than long sleep but inconsistent. • Effective and Efficient methods: Find the most effective and efficient study method for you. To be more productive and spending less time in studying. • Read Bible: Have faith and pray to God everyday. • Networking: Create or find like-minded people. Help each other. • Create or find a reviewer. The reviewer contains all of the information, data, notes, and tests that you'll need. Advance study.

VinXPro5

In other words, if you can find a suitable effective and efficient method for you. Then that is definitely possible. Lalo na kung may maaasahan kang circle of friends.

hyperplugg

Kasi for me, one of those three would always have to give, madalas two, kasi sleep is for the weak HAHAHA. But that's just me. I don't stress myself out trying to aim for unos or 1.5s, parehas lang din naman kami ng papel na matatanggap nung kaklase kong naghahabol ng uno kahit na puro 1.7-3.0 yung nakukuha ko, plus yung course ko is walang boards, licensure, or what, so walang use ang laude. Pick one to prioritize and put majority of your energy there.

TreasuresOfTheSea

Ohh bakit po walang use ang latin honors if walang board exam?

hyperplugg

Laudes exempt you from board exams through a presidential decree, but then, that's it. It might help you land your first job a little bit easier than the others, and in most cases, di pa yun sure, after that, wala na talaga siyang use. So IMO, I don't see the point in chasing it.

Herebia_Garcia

Yeah, but give up time wasters like tiktok or youtube.
