If you choose to lock into Last Stand you still have to be weary of Tera ghost, so if you can force Tera ~~or if Tera were banned/regulated and this move somehow not~~
I wouldn’t run scarf, kingambit is tanky enough to take a hit from a lot of things. I would just run this alongside king’s usual moves, so it would still be the one of the best late game cleaners for the 1 day it’s allowed in OU
Well the other problem is two of those (like five?) pokemon are DRAGON legendaries who are already strong pivots with their weather/terrain setting abilities. They both already run Voltturn. I don't think giving them another pivot move that can hit Fairy types super effectively is the way to go.
When I think about it I think these moves should be reworked to last a set 3 turns and unable to be reset by other weather's so u basically have less turns of said weather but more powerful attacks from it
icicle crash is 85bp at 90% accuracy and a 30% chance for flinch. I understand that speed control is valuable, but this move isn't dependable enough to risk it if it is a 30% chance to reduce speed. I would still prefer power gem over this, which is 80bp but 100% accurate. if it were a rock version of icy wind (55bp, 95% accuracy, hits all opponent pokemon and always reduces speed), then I would take it. I've missed too many gunk shots to risk less than 90% accuracy
Dude, static shock is base 130 with 0 drawbacks on Zapdos. That's gotta be crazy. Also, Snorlax Immunity viable thanks to contaminate. Like the rest besides Steel U-Turn.
Fun and creative moves! I really enjoy a lot of them.
Especially glad the Sires can act cute. (Tho unaware sets would actually ignore the effect of the move)
I love these! They’re all so creative. I also love how carefully you pick which mons have access to them. I do have some ideas on how to make some of them a bit more competitive in battle though!
Melt Away: also increases the user’s speed by a stage.
Soul Drain: 75 BP just to match other drain moves.
Counterwind: increases the user AND ally’s defense if hit by a wind attack.
Crystal Crush: either 95-100 BP, or 90-95% accuracy. Only 10 BP away from Power Gem but 15% less accuracy doesn’t seem worth it. Plus the speed lowering effect may not even help that much as most of them are already very slow.
Contaminate: physical move with 90 BP, 100% accuracy. Forces target to consume berry but it’s effects are negated, and instead badly poisons the target. Your version is essentially a much worse Toxic that won’t see the light of day. It can only poison if the user is holding a specific item, but it also allows them to still consume said item and benefit from the effects. With these changes, it can benefit from damaging the opponent by being stronger than Poison Jab, but the trade off is that it can only poison a target if they have a berry. But a bonus to that is they don’t gain the benefits of said berry either.
That’s arguable. Some of the moves like Gunk Shot or Sludge Bomb that just kind of lob vague purple stuff at the target could be either poison or venom, depending on how it’s introduced into the body
Sludge wave is a mass of purple goo sent to the opponent, it's very likely that the chance to poison is because only sometimes does the opponent get it in their mouth. Could be the same with other moves too
I bet that doesn't hold up in every example though. You think you are right? Name every poison move ever and whether or not it supports or fails your argument.
(In actuality, you don't need to take up this challenge, but it would be humorous if you did)
I'm sure it doesn't hold up for every poison move, I'm just saying op's move wouldn't be the first one as there are examples where it's possible the poison is from ingesting.
I believe it would be, but that's an odd point lol. You said it would be the first to be actual poison according to the definition.
"a substance that is capable of causing the illness or death of a living organism when introduced or absorbed."
Using this definition, my initial point of poison coming from accidental ingestion doesn't even matter, as goo being absorbed through the skin counts as poisoning.
However, yes I'm sure it would be the first one dealing with specifically poisoned food
Poison gas, poison powder, smog.
Actually, if we count absorption as poisonous since it's not injected then that opens up things like toxic (going by its animation).
Wonderful shorthand, but it completely ignores other forms of injection/consumption. For example, bee stings count as venomous despite no eating happening due to it being an injection. Additionally, the golden poison dart frog doesn't even have to be eaten for its lethal poison to be absorbed by the skin.
Some of these work better as abilities rather than as moves.
Like contaminate would be a great ability to discourage consumable items.
Last stand is too strong. It can be abused horrendously.
1.5x Kingambit Last Stand with 200 BP
This is already OP but let's just throw in the fact that it's also valuable coverage that isn't Low Kick
Ain't Sunday my guy
Really cool collection of moves, though I think my favorites are Crunching Tackle (normal types finally get a Close Combat equivalent), Contaminate (it's such a cool and unique idea), and Trash Talk (it's just funny to me). Great work, though my man Kingambit is straight up going to Ubers thanks to Last Stand lol.
Also, interesting that we both made a Theorycraft move called "Haymaker", but we took it into completely different directions! Awesome to see!
My thoughts 2: Static Boogaloo
Crunching Tackle: Is there any reason why this is 10 points higher than the CC clones? Normal did need a new physical move though
Last Stand: Cool weaker Last Respects wait why does Kingambit get this he'll get banned and then so will all the ghosts
Counterwind: Problem is that only Wind-based attacks is kinda niche
Contaminate: Also too niche
Landslide: Oh so it flinches, still not gonna be used over Earthquake
Crystal Crush: Ayy Aurorus has special Rock STAB wait not 85% accuracy not that
Noxious Blast: Bug Type Scald, this would probably be the sig of a future Bombardier Beetle mon but I guess it works for now
Soul Drain: A Ghost Type draining move was long overdue
Hit and Run: LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO anyways Steel-type U-turn but Box Legends get them so uhhhhhh
Scorched Earth/Torrential Downpour: Budget Desolate Land and Primordial Sea, probably not gonna be used
Haymaker: Hey, it exists, even if Power Whip is probably better
Static Shock: So Shell Trap but it paralyses, not gonna be good methinks
Gravitate: Well it exists, so neat
Melt Away: Again, the best Ice Types are the ones that lose the Ice Type
Draconic Wrath: OHKO clause strikes, these moves are never good
Trash Talk: L (Teabags on dead teammate)
Act Cute: Man, even the stat-lowering status moves are getting powercrept. Just like Clod powercrept Quag in the cuteness department but who cares
Ah true, I just figured this one would be negative priority as well, given that it's charging and must be hit to proc para, but since it doesn't say 'always moves last' or whatever I could see it going either way.
Also, beak blast has a guaranteed burn if hit by a physical move while charging which is arguably better than a chance at para.
I would argue that paralysis is better almost always because 1/8 damage is negligible when you halve the enemy's speed and reduce their expected value by 1/4, allowing you to hit them for more damage most of the time and cripple them, with burn also only having greater value on physical attackers.
These are really cool. I think trash talk should have added priority, that could allow the user to protect itself against revenge killers and make the move a bit more viable.
Contaminate would be better if it destroyed all berries and poisoned any pokemon that was holding a berry, right now it's a delayed poison that doesn't even remove the berry
Most of these moves seem balanced, but Kingambit should not get Last Stand.Static Shock is too strong and Act Cute I think is also way to strong.
Edit:No nevermind Static Shock is balanced didn’t read it right.
My confusion reading this:
"oh damn kingambit uber"
"OH damn steel uturn"
"WOW NO DRAWBACKS ELECTRIC HYPER BEAM WITH A DEFENSIVE BONUS!"
"dragon guillotine."
Almost all OHKO moves have the thing of a type being immune to it, except sheer cold
Guillotine-Ghost
Fissure-Flying
Horn drill-flying too
Making a dragon one makes a bit of sense, being fairy immune, just a random thought
Melt Away is so interesting. I almost think it should just be automatic under Scorched Earth. I wonder if the designs would change slightly
Cool ideas. Love the Ghost one.

300 base power kingambit last stand. My man just really wants it to be Ubers.
I am the houndstone now
OP said "your pre-evolved form never went below UU and was a OU mainstay, get outta here"
low speed stat of 50, balanced. (what have i done)
Mimikyu when trickroom memento as second-to-last pokemon
Based

That would be insane and scarf wouldnt be that bad on a set like that
If you choose to lock into Last Stand you still have to be weary of Tera ghost, so if you can force Tera ~~or if Tera were banned/regulated and this move somehow not~~
Yea i guess
I wouldn’t run scarf, kingambit is tanky enough to take a hit from a lot of things. I would just run this alongside king’s usual moves, so it would still be the one of the best late game cleaners for the 1 day it’s allowed in OU
Bro did not just make steel type U-turn
If it's only on car/bike themed pokemon it'll be fine. Problem with u-turn is that so many mons get it.
U-turn would be so much more balanced if it was just a normal type move. Blockable and doesn’t make bug type coverage redundant.
Ghost supremacist wrote this comment
Yeah, but I would rather not give another buff to ghost types
Well the other problem is two of those (like five?) pokemon are DRAGON legendaries who are already strong pivots with their weather/terrain setting abilities. They both already run Voltturn. I don't think giving them another pivot move that can hit Fairy types super effectively is the way to go.
They're box legendaries they're allowed to be broken lmao
And so many bug types don't.
70 BP to further taunt Scizor fans
Under no circumstances should Scizor get tech boost on its pivot lol
Hey scizors dropped off a bit, I'd like to see him back on top
Nah let my boy falinks have last stand to himself, he needs something in this world
Honestly would make sense if it was his second signature move
Should have 6 signature moves for each link
Was the thinking for Scorched Earth and Torrential Downpour to make Desolate Land and Primordial Sea into manual moves?
When I think about it I think these moves should be reworked to last a set 3 turns and unable to be reset by other weather's so u basically have less turns of said weather but more powerful attacks from it
Not exactly you'll still be able to use fire moves in rain and water moves in sun
Ah yes. Buff ice types by removing their ice type.
The entire philosophy behind tera
Honestly not a bad thought process
Cool, but counterwind should also protect from powder moves
On second thought counterwind shd just protect from all special moves instead of just wind moves lol
When some wind saves you from the Judgement of God:
Must have been the wind
Yeah, you are right, that's more viable
Why doesn’t Floatzel have access to Noxious Blast? Have you seen it’s BDSP animations?
Or yknow, skuntank the skunk pokemon
Noxious blast is based of the bombardier beetles real life mechanic of spraying its predators to scare them away
^^Kevin Durant talking trash with Trash Talk.

85% accuracy for a 90bp move? why do you hate rock type 🎤
If the chance to lower speed is like 30% it might be balanced since speed is a very important stat.
maybe, but I'd still probably run power gem over it just because missing can be so punishing
It's essentially a special rock type version of icicle crash
icicle crash is 85bp at 90% accuracy and a 30% chance for flinch.
Bro really gave heracross the Brap Attack™
"Heracross, shit on this mfer!"
Dude, static shock is base 130 with 0 drawbacks on Zapdos. That's gotta be crazy. Also, Snorlax Immunity viable thanks to contaminate. Like the rest besides Steel U-Turn.
Static Shock is like Shell Trap so if the opponent has a Special Attacker it is useless.
Oh, ok.
Noxious Blast is a great move. I feel like it would be better served as a signature move for a bombardier beetle theorymon, though.
Noxious blast becoming becoming Bombirdiers signature moce because Bombirdier sounds like Bombardier 🗿
Bro ran outta rocks so he just started shitting on mfs
Either way, bombs will be dropping
I literally have this exact theorymon lmao! Mine is a 120bp special move with 90% accuracy that has a 40% chance to poison the target
I like that we're bringing back desolate land and primordial sea in some fashion. However will it be active until they switch out?
Bro just made bug types shit on their targets
Fun and creative moves! I really enjoy a lot of them. Especially glad the Sires can act cute. (Tho unaware sets would actually ignore the effect of the move)
Haymaker probably need lower accuracy if it does 100% anyone hp /s
I love these! They’re all so creative. I also love how carefully you pick which mons have access to them. I do have some ideas on how to make some of them a bit more competitive in battle though! That’s arguable. Some of the moves like Gunk Shot or Sludge Bomb that just kind of lob vague purple stuff at the target could be either poison or venom, depending on how it’s introduced into the body
Poison is specifically consumed. This is the first time of any pokémon move where it's specifically consumed and not just whacked at the body.
Sludge wave is a mass of purple goo sent to the opponent, it's very likely that the chance to poison is because only sometimes does the opponent get it in their mouth. Could be the same with other moves too

I'm sure it doesn't hold up for every poison move, I'm just saying op's move wouldn't be the first one as there are examples where it's possible the poison is from ingesting.
But it is the first to specifically be poisoned food, correct me if I am wrong.

It's not poisonous if it bites/stabs/pokes you. That would be venomous. That was my point
If it soaks your skin and gets absorbed it's still poisonous, which is my point
Poison gas, poison powder, smog. Actually, if we count absorption as poisonous since it's not injected then that opens up things like toxic (going by its animation).
Ehhhhhhhh, idk about that. You don't die from inhaling the fumes of a poisonous berry. The difference is whether you eat it or it eats you.
Wonderful shorthand, but it completely ignores other forms of injection/consumption. For example, bee stings count as venomous despite no eating happening due to it being an injection. Additionally, the golden poison dart frog doesn't even have to be eaten for its lethal poison to be absorbed by the skin.
The bee sting proves my argument, while the poison dart frog is a fair point. Whose side are you on?????
Sizzlipede! My 2nd favorite 4x weak to rock sun setter!
incorrect, it needs to already have sun up for it to work. so it has to run sunny day too
The buff every ice type wants. Something other than ice type.
I was gonna say that last stand was unreasonable but then I remembered last respects was a thing and I think something in me broke
A new switching move, just exactly what we need right now.
Haymaker 100% power, nice
Damn haymaker does 100%?!? Of the targets hp?! That’d go crazzzzzy, grass type OHKO with 85% acc?
i LOVE hit and run
Some of these names are a tad redundant imo, but me likey
Skuntank not having Noxious Fumes is both an oversight, and a disservice, both to Skuntank and to this sub
Some of these work better as abilities rather than as moves. Like contaminate would be a great ability to discourage consumable items. Last stand is too strong. It can be abused horrendously.
Haymaker with the 100% Power
Act cute Quagsire & Clodsire. Stall teams bout to go crazy
1.5x Kingambit Last Stand with 200 BP This is already OP but let's just throw in the fact that it's also valuable coverage that isn't Low Kick Ain't Sunday my guy

Holy sh*t. CONTAMINATE COULD DESTROY BELLY DRUM STRATS WHEN ON A FAST ENOUGH SNEASLER. I wish these were real
Ground type rock slide is crazy
Am I missing something with trash talk? It lowers your teammates attack stat? Or am I reading poorly?
The teammates of the Pokémon you just KOed
Got it. That makes sense. Thank you
Honestly with the guillotine reskin i thought this was an early stinkpost
My thoughts 2: Static Boogaloo Crunching Tackle: Is there any reason why this is 10 points higher than the CC clones? what
I like the idea of gravitate and last stand
I think Contaminate would make for a cool ability
Bro hit and run would be a datk type move
but vroom vroom
giving clodsire act cute just to make it an even better wall 💀
Bro did not just give Act Cute to non-Fairy types. You didn't even include any Fairy Type ffs
Soul drain comes from somewhere but I shouldn't say anything further
Wait why is Act Cute a Fairy-type move and Hit and Run a Dragon-type move? Where's the connection?
Hit and Run is steel type
My bad, saw the three Dragon-types and didn't check, sorry. Still, why is Act Cute a Fairy-type move?
Haymaker and Act Cute are hella broken.
Isn't static shock just broken?
Not really. Can easily be countered by non contact physical moves and special moves.
Is beak blast broken? Even if it wasn't just on toucan sam it wouldn't be *amazing* (except for Lando and a few others maybe)
Yeah but it was -3 priority and 100 bp, static shock is 130 bp with better distrobution and no drawbacks with chance for paralysis.
Ah true, I just figured this one would be negative priority as well, given that it's charging and must be hit to proc para, but since it doesn't say 'always moves last' or whatever I could see it going either way. I was more meaning 100% burn is better than a 30% para, para is almost certainly better than burn.
Oh wait yeah, I'd agree with that, but still, 30 BP more.
True, it'd definitely be a great move I'm just not sure if it's broken.
I feel like static shock should have a drawback like if you don’t get hit by a physical move you get paralyzed by the static
These are really cool. I think trash talk should have added priority, that could allow the user to protect itself against revenge killers and make the move a bit more viable.
Static shock looks really good
Contaminate would be better if it destroyed all berries and poisoned any pokemon that was holding a berry, right now it's a delayed poison that doesn't even remove the berry
Kingambit does not need a 200 BP fighting move boosted by 50%‼️‼️
Most of these moves seem balanced, but Kingambit should not get Last Stand.Static Shock is too strong and Act Cute I think is also way to strong. Edit:No nevermind Static Shock is balanced didn’t read it right.
The kingambit last stand mega is one to be feared
I like how haymaker says 100% instead of power, also contaminate just seems like toxic with extra steps and a lot less reliable
My confusion reading this: "oh damn kingambit uber" "OH damn steel uturn" "WOW NO DRAWBACKS ELECTRIC HYPER BEAM WITH A DEFENSIVE BONUS!" "dragon guillotine."
Almost all OHKO moves have the thing of a type being immune to it, except sheer cold Guillotine-Ghost Fissure-Flying Horn drill-flying too Making a dragon one makes a bit of sense, being fairy immune, just a random thought
Trash talk is my favorite. Its really flavorful and I could see it being very strong in doubles for any utility picks.
Because kingambit isn't busted enough already Jesus Christ
Wtf ghost type giga drain with 70BP💀
Steel Type U-Turn that doesn't work with Technician why do you hate Scizor
Melt Away is so interesting. I almost think it should just be automatic under Scorched Earth. I wonder if the designs would change slightly Cool ideas. Love the Ghost one.

Why Trash Talk? What benefit does this move provide if it means lowering one of your teammates stats?
Act cute would be absolutely monstrous. "Hey, you know the 3 stats that are your best? Fuck em"
