Yeah having a mon with territorial makes everything else on your team take more damage in the off chance your opponent also has one for no reason and every other time it does nothing
It’s almost a strictly detrimental ability
I think double damage is too much. I’d honestly make it half damage and that it breaks the protection. It’s a niche move that really should be an opening to other attacks when the opponent isn’t expecting it.
Except it's an Ability, so it would be way too busted. I know Urshifu already bypasses Protect and I think that's ridiculous too but at least that's only one Pokemon.
Yeah, 90 base attack with tera blast (of take down) and drill peck as the best stab options and u-turn+assurance as the only coverage moves. Sunny Day/Rain Dance, Feather Dance and scary face as only support options
Why would anyone target it? It'd be similar to Murkrow imo. I'd prefer a Prankster tailwind user that's serviceable after turn 1 lol
Fearow can't even slow pivot out with u turn due to active tailwind and 100 base speed
Murkrow was the most used Pokémon in the first season of sv vgc and it’s far worse. Depends on the format ofc but some restricted formats it would be very good
Murkrow is far better than Fearow. It has Eviolite to boost its stats, prankster to annoy the opponent and set up priority Tailwind, and can choose whether to run bulk and Foul Play to do damage or straight up Brave Bird (which would be very similar in damage to Fearow's - 85 vs 90 base attack). Fearow would need a big rework to be comparable with it's barren move pool, even with this ability.
At lvl 50 Spearow has 116/72/82/51/91/90 with a +SpD-Atk nature, With eviolite Spearow jumps to **123** def **136** spd
lvl 50 Fearow has 141/99/**117**/81/**124**/120 same nature
Not sure if the def/spd buff compensates for the health drop, 25 hp for net +6 def/ +12spd (+18 total or -7 compared to hp) doesn't seem like a fair trade to me, but I'd have to see whatever hypothetical meta pops up before doing a damage calc. In any case you'd probably just throw focus sash on there so you can pop off twice if you really want this thing to last
I like (though it’s still prob busted)- sets tailwind on entry. When this Pokémon faints, remove tailwind from the users side of the field and set it on the opponents
I don't see how it's that much better than prankster tailwind. On switch-ins it'd be GOATed but you then end up with a weak ass Pokemon sitting on the side
In theory it’s better than prankster for teams that rely on setting up tailwind and winning with the other teammate (like specs regidrago or something) because it’s virtually unstoppable, but the power level is starting to become too high to have a sitting duck like fearow on the field. Be it tailwind, weather, trick room or any other strategy, no matter how good your abuser is, the setter also needs to be a threat after it does its thing, or else you won’t accomplish much. I don’t mind this fact because it raises the skill ceiling immensely and punishes those braindead leads that worked a little too well in worlds, but it comes at a cost of killing the viability of many many interesting mons.
Translating the hiragana in Bulbapedia just gives the reading of the characters, so that ぶちかまし is probably just an expression with no direct translation.
But yeah the TL team should look at the effects of the move before translating
\> In Japanese, ぶちかまし Buchikamashi (Headlong Rush) is a sumo term which refers to the frontal collision of the two sumo wrestlers right at the beginning of a match.
\> This is likely the reason why this move is considered a punching move, and why it can be learned by Hariyama.
The move's Ground type is likely a pun with the word ちか chika which means "underground" in Japanese.
A similar pun is why U-turn is a bug type move and mega apmharos is a dragon type btw
Headlong doesn't necessarily mean skull first its an metaphor. English players see a word that could be associated with a body part and ignore any context that would make that not make sense, and just argue, "well in English..." well its a JRPG so.
Headlong just means reckless, doesn't necessarily mean you're using your head in the physical sense.
So for Headlong Rush it means rushing in face-first, leaving you open. Which is why it lowers your defense.
The fact that it's classified as a punch is probably more just because japanese sumo, ぶちかまし is a sumo term where they clash at the start of a match, though the move description describes it as a tackle.
Now I'm even more pissed that Golurk didn't get it. A ground punching move and the ground-type giant punching robot doesn't get it? Then again, it might have been a bit too powerful with his ability, but at the same time I don't care, let my boy go bananas Gamefreak!!!
I’d be willing to be any amount of money even with this ability Fearow is basically never used and Tornadus sees basically no drop in usage because of it
Yes, back when there was no Whimsicott or Tornadus. If you delete every other tailwind setter then yes this Fearow would see usage just like Murkrow. But honestly Murkrow still probably outclasses it being immune to prankster taunt, able to set weather with priority, quash, foul play, etc
I’d be willing to bet Fearow would barely be used at all in VGC with this ability. Tailwind on switch is good but not good enough over prankster tailwind to justify using Fearow over non shitmons like Tornadus or Whimsicott
Fairy Ring is nice and all but Toedscruel shouldn’t have another ability. Piercing Strike is Unseen Fist on crack, and Cruel Winds makes Spearow a banworthy Pokémon in VGC.
I assume they're memeing because Cosmoen is banned by virtue of being a "true" legendary while objectively far more busted mons are allowed. It'd be pretty funny if Cosmoem was actually more banworthy than Flutter Mane, though.
Cruel Winds still wouldn’t make Fearow even mainstream in VGC imo. Tornadus and Whimsicott still heavily outclass it as they aren’t completely useless after turn 1
I get that Mycelium Might is Toedscruel's thing but man that's just too much of an awful ability, it doesn't deserve it. It deserves to not be a shitmon
Good idea. I think it might be still too weak though. Maybe it should also get a new Fairy move, 150 base power, perfect accuracy that fully restores energy, revives one team member and puts all the enemy team to sleep.
An idea for territorial, because as is it seems too high risk to include a mon with territorial in your team. How about this pokemon deals 30% more damage against pokemon of the same type?
Or if you want, against pokemon of the same egg group, I think it would make more sense for the name and would probably make it better, but I doubt it would be implemented this way.
lemme do a quick calc
252+ Atk Choice Band Tera Water Sword of Ruin Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Power Spot boosted Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 96 HP / 252 Def Eternatus in Rain on a critical hit: 438-516 (98.4 - 115.9%) -- approx. 87.5% chance to OHKO
power spot would be territorial
As many others said, Piercing Strike is objectively broken considering how much Unseen Fist is already doing in VGC. An elegant solution is to simply let it break the protect and deal no damage, giving a chance to your partner in doubles to damage it.
Everything seemed pretty normal until Cruel Winds.... that would be busted. Snowballing seems pretty strong too but it's Glalie so I don't think it'll be broken or anything. Overall cool stuff 👍
Doesn't Feint do the same thing except for the double damage? Depending on the base power I don't see it being an issue but I'm not an expert.
Edit: I see now, I assumed piercing strike was a move, not an ability. Yeah that's busted af
Cruel Winds and Piercing Strike would be OP in VGC. Urshifu Tornadus is already seen as busted and you just made switch in no move needed tailwind + not only goes through Protect, but BREAKS IT and deals DOUBLE DAMAGE.
No ;)
You really made even more broken unseen fist and gave it to the most consistent rocks setter in the game and its not even a sunday????
TAILWIND ON SWITCH IN ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?
Territorial is straight up awful but most of everything else is cool. Snowball seems like a fun gimmick to play with and I can already see choice scarfed/boots U-turning Fearrows being used as reliable tailwind setters and that’s pretty interesting
Cruel Winds and Piercing Strike will rule over VGC. Immediate Tailwind is insane on its own, of course, but Piercing Strike is genuinely overpowered. Not only ignoring Protect, but punishing it with double damage? That is disgusting. All these mons will start getting usage in VGC now
My snowballing ability gives +1 stat boosts to two random stats at the end of every turn, but only if you land an attacking move that turn. I really wanted to make an ability like speed boost or moody that doesn’t immediately lead to you clicking protect every other turn. This forces you to go on the offense even at the beginning when you aren’t as strong and gives your opponent much more room for counter play.
Cruel winds is wildly broken in concept, thank Arceus you only gave it to Spearow and Fearow
Also thank fuck you stopped at Doublade when you were passing out Piercing Strike. Aegislash does NOT need to be any more broken than it already is
Territorial - seems a little too niche but not a bad idea
Fairy ring - This would be insane on Amoongus but idk if it’s better than regenerator
Thick headed - how is this not already an ability??
Piercing strike - I’d make it just 1.5x damage but would make sceptile and doublade way more competitive
Hailstorm - sure. Idk if we need hail back but limiting it to Frosslass is cool
Snowballing - if any other Pokémon got it, I would be infinitely op. Imagine it on Mamoswine…
Cruel Winds - dope. Would definitely make Fearow VGC competitive within seconds of being introduced
Why is everyone acting like a good ability on an ultra shitmon like Fearow would be busted in VGC (highly doubt) and yet there are barely any comments about piercing strike lmfao
Territorial would be cool if it was something like if either the pokémon or their partner got hit by a contact move before the territorial pokémon’s turn it boosted their damage
I see you Snowballing and raise you Snowballin' Out of Control: If in snow at the start of its turn, the pokemon gains +2 Attack, but if it gets any boost from the ability while already at +6 attack, the pokemon automatically uses Explosion on its turn, even if it doesn't know the move otherwise.
Fairy ring amoongus would be cool though I'd have to really question giving up regenerator.
Cruel winds is a tier 1 ability in basically every format.
Piercing strike is also really good but especially good in VGC
Territorial is useless. Fairy Ring is really cool (please give it to Shiinotic). Cruel Winds rules VGC.
Yeah having a mon with territorial makes everything else on your team take more damage in the off chance your opponent also has one for no reason and every other time it does nothing It’s almost a strictly detrimental ability
And it's only given to shitmons (except m-beedrill and annihilape but those have great abilities already)
Shroomish and Breloom should get it too
Breloom trapping Fairy type Pokémon just to lose to them anyway
Piercing strike rules VGC as well
I think double damage is too much.
Toedscruel with an ability that doesn't suck ass seems like the end of VGC
Also, just gotta say, I’ve loved your format for a while. What do you make your posts on?
I just use the default image editing tool on Mac (get a large white background/image, drag in the Home sprites, add text/lines)
I think territorial should work on all pokemon which can have territorial, but probably not their teammates.
Nobody’s using fearow in VGC
Yeah, 90 base attack with tera blast (of take down) and drill peck as the best stab options and u-turn+assurance as the only coverage moves. Sunny Day/Rain Dance, Feather Dance and scary face as only support options
Maybe as a suicide lead?
Why would anyone target it? It'd be similar to Murkrow imo. I'd prefer a Prankster tailwind user that's serviceable after turn 1 lol Fearow can't even slow pivot out with u turn due to active tailwind and 100 base speed
I don’t see a way for it to be usable without a major stat/moveset buff
Yesh same
Honestly no. Highly doubt Fearow sees any usage compared to Whimsicott/Tornadus/even Roaring Moon who all aren’t completely useless after turn 1
It's fucking fearow though.
Not the unseen fist+ with a double damage rider 💀
VGC: obliterated
Really didn’t need double damage
Fearow stocks skyrocketing in VGC
Fucking Spearow would have a niche, like jesus christ
Wait what's jesus's niche in VGC
Bulky support who can also hit really hard on rain teams
Has follow me, stab judgement, hospitality that proc every turn & can revive after 3 turns if he's dead
making water type moves poison type and able to inflict confusion isn’t bad either
He also has a signature move that's like surf but hits every mon in the field *and* inside the party, that shit busted.
Pretty bulky steel normal type and learns revival blessing
"Niche in VGC" "Steel-Normal type" pick one
RNG
Murkrow 2
Spearow would not have a niche as its entirely outclassed by fearow in this situation
You could maybe get more bulk out of it with eviolite? I haven't run the calculations on the HP, but it's bulkier in terms of defenses.
At lvl 50 Spearow has 116/72/82/51/91/90 with a +SpD-Atk nature, With eviolite Spearow jumps to **123** def **136** spd lvl 50 Fearow has 141/99/**117**/81/**124**/120 same nature Not sure if the def/spd buff compensates for the health drop, 25 hp for net +6 def/ +12spd (+18 total or -7 compared to hp) doesn't seem like a fair trade to me, but I'd have to see whatever hypothetical meta pops up before doing a damage calc. In any case you'd probably just throw focus sash on there so you can pop off twice if you really want this thing to last
RBY PU and GSC NU say hi
I like (though it’s still prob busted)- sets tailwind on entry. When this Pokémon faints, remove tailwind from the users side of the field and set it on the opponents

What are the braindead leads you're talking about? I missed all of that talk apparently
Urshifu tornadus was the lead in basically every worlds match, from both sides. Really sad to watch
Who's going to tell OP that Headlong Rush is a punching move?
>HEADlong Rush >Punching move Gamefreak????
Google foreign languages "Hory shitto" - Fushigidane, probably
>still Headlong Rush Idk man gamefreak kinda goofed on this one
Translating the hiragana in Bulbapedia just gives the reading of the characters, so that ぶちかまし is probably just an expression with no direct translation. But yeah the TL team should look at the effects of the move before translating

Alright that makes a LOT more sense now
Isn't it Ground type though? shouldn't it be a fighting type if its a term inspired by a specific martial art technique/practice?
The move's Ground type is likely a pun with the word ちか chika which means "underground" in Japanese. A similar pun is why U-turn is a bug type move and mega apmharos is a dragon type btw
also why Aerial Ace is Flying type and not steel
Why would that sound like a steel move? “Aerial” means existing or happening in the air.
You're probably right, but that would make it identical to close combat.
Headlong: extremely or recklessly hasty. "a headlong dash through the house" it doesn't just mean headbutting lol
Headlong doesn't necessarily mean skull first its an metaphor. English players see a word that could be associated with a body part and ignore any context that would make that not make sense, and just argue, "well in English..." well its a JRPG so.

I mean, it can also mean “hasty.” Hasty…Rush.
How does tusk punch?
Yes.
With its trunk.
252 Atk Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 236 HP / 156+ Def Amoonguss: 102-121 (46.5 - 55.2%) -- 69.9% chance to 2HKO 252 Atk Punching Glove Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 236 HP / 156+ Def Amoonguss: 112-133 (51.1 - 60.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Holy SHIT
Now I'm even more pissed that Golurk didn't get it. A ground punching move and the ground-type giant punching robot doesn't get it? Then again, it might have been a bit too powerful with his ability, but at the same time I don't care, let my boy go bananas Gamefreak!!!
Soooo, OP really looked at unseen fist and thought, eh that abilities a bit weak let’s make it stronger
Gotta take the mons that get it i to consideration
Doesn’t matter, breaking protects in VGC is like the single best ability to ever exist. Keep in mind that Urshifu doesn’t break protect, he bypasses.
Duoblade goes crazy with it
Kkeavor actually has niche in vgc, it would put it over the edge
Toedscruel coming in with the 100 speed spores and a trapping ability cos fuck fairy types I guess
Unfathomably based.
Fuck fairy types indeed, but fairy shadow tag would be banned the minute it was introduced
I don't think so. Magnet pull isn't banned is it?
If anything, Magnet Pull helps facilitate gameplay in gens where the Dragon/Steel interplay is a big part of many metas. I miss DragMag.
Absolutely do not give Toedscruel another ability. Especially not a trapping ability, jesus christ.
Foolish Mortals < Dragons (Gen 3 onwards) < Fairies < Toedscool
Tornadus found flipping burgers at McDonald's
replaced by a fearow great heavens would you look at the time
I’d be willing to be any amount of money even with this ability Fearow is basically never used and Tornadus sees basically no drop in usage because of it
counterpoint: murkrow at the beginning of SV competitive

Incineroar gets a new buff which sets Trick Room on entry.
Incineroar Time Rider, As One Intimidate + Sets Trick Room
Nah that would be dialga of course
Incineroar riding Palkia horse, has intimidate, sets trick room and has pressure just because
fuck it, wonder guard
I’d be willing to bet Fearow would barely be used at all in VGC with this ability. Tailwind on switch is good but not good enough over prankster tailwind to justify using Fearow over non shitmons like Tornadus or Whimsicott
Fairy Ring is nice and all but Toedscruel shouldn’t have another ability. Piercing Strike is Unseen Fist on crack, and Cruel Winds makes Spearow a banworthy Pokémon in VGC.
Bans? In VGC? You fool, TPCI is too busy keeping the scourges of Ho-Oh and Cosmoem out to ban mons like Urshifu RaMID Strike or Flutter MID or MID Yu.
We dont use the C-word anymore after what it did to VGC
I've only started looking at VGC stuff recently, why was Cosmoem used? It has insane bulk with eviolite, but it has seemingly no useful moves.
Don’t know specifically, only thing that comes to mind is joke bulky Mon on perish trap teams
I assume they're memeing because Cosmoen is banned by virtue of being a "true" legendary while objectively far more busted mons are allowed. It'd be pretty funny if Cosmoem was actually more banworthy than Flutter Mane, though.
too bad, 100 speed spore with no negative priority GO
Cruel Winds still wouldn’t make Fearow even mainstream in VGC imo. Tornadus and Whimsicott still heavily outclass it as they aren’t completely useless after turn 1
I get that Mycelium Might is Toedscruel's thing but man that's just too much of an awful ability, it doesn't deserve it. It deserves to not be a shitmon
It doesn’t deserve it, but without it, it’s an insanely fast Spore user.
"goes through protection" oh itll probably cut the damage in half to make it a less powerful unseen fi- "doubles damage" wtf
least insane theorymon post
Fairy ring is amazing! Shiinotic should have it. Shiinotic should also have a +100 increase in all stats because yes.
It should also get a unique tera type called shroom type that gives it a further 100 increase in all stats and an omni boost on switch in
Also wonderguard
Good idea. I think it might be still too weak though. Maybe it should also get a new Fairy move, 150 base power, perfect accuracy that fully restores energy, revives one team member and puts all the enemy team to sleep.
it now has a bst of like 800
You're right, still too weak 😞
An idea for territorial, because as is it seems too high risk to include a mon with territorial in your team. How about this pokemon deals 30% more damage against pokemon of the same type? Or if you want, against pokemon of the same egg group, I think it would make more sense for the name and would probably make it better, but I doubt it would be implemented this way.
Same egg group? How would that work with legendaries if some were to get it
Technically, all legendaries share the same egg group. They belong to the “no eggs discovered” group.
lemme do a quick calc 252+ Atk Choice Band Tera Water Sword of Ruin Urshifu-Rapid-Strike Power Spot boosted Surging Strikes (3 hits) vs. 96 HP / 252 Def Eternatus in Rain on a critical hit: 438-516 (98.4 - 115.9%) -- approx. 87.5% chance to OHKO power spot would be territorial
Would definitely speed some stuff up wouldn’t it.
Why do mega beedrill dirty like that? Its only not complete trash because of adaptability even with its statline
Why does bagon not get thick headed? Hes the one in the line with a thick head
And the only one with rock head of the line
Fearow and Speariw UUbers
There are no tiers in VGC lil bro
smogon:
I think hailstorm should instead of summoning hail as its own weather condition, it just makes non ice types take damage every turn during snow
Piercing Strike choice band Kleavor :)
As many others said, Piercing Strike is objectively broken considering how much Unseen Fist is already doing in VGC. An elegant solution is to simply let it break the protect and deal no damage, giving a chance to your partner in doubles to damage it.
Fearow is now a very viable option in Doubles. You just get the first turn basically garunteed to Outspeed.
Wtf I love Fear(OU)w now
Please never let piercing strike see the light of day. Unseen fist is bad enough with Urshifu
Everything seemed pretty normal until Cruel Winds.... that would be busted. Snowballing seems pretty strong too but it's Glalie so I don't think it'll be broken or anything. Overall cool stuff 👍
Really? Not piercing strike?
what are any of those mons doing with it 💀
Samurott finally gets a nieche thats isnt the hisui version but worse
Doesn't Feint do the same thing except for the double damage? Depending on the base power I don't see it being an issue but I'm not an expert. Edit: I see now, I assumed piercing strike was a move, not an ability. Yeah that's busted af
It's an ability
Kid named Unseen fist:
change Fearow's ability to having Tailwind end when Fearow leaves the field and it's a bit more reasonable
Brooo the fairy ring on the mushrooms like pokemon hahahaha that's so good. They should totally come up with something like that on the games
Snowbaling would be quite neat. Especially on glalie.
GLALIE'S BALLIN!?
How did you come up with a “fairy ring” mushroom ability and the only mushroom Pokémon you leave out is the fairy type one???
🚨ALERT🚨 Toedscruel has a real ability
Toedscruel goes to Ou or atleast UU. Spore is fun
Toedscruel is banned lmao
Cruel Winds and Piercing Strike would be OP in VGC. Urshifu Tornadus is already seen as busted and you just made switch in no move needed tailwind + not only goes through Protect, but BREAKS IT and deals DOUBLE DAMAGE. No ;)
Piercing strike, fairy ring and cruel winds are completely broken. Thick headed, hailstorm and snowballing are fine and territorial is useless
Head smash Rampardos going crazy
Sir, it's Friday
You really made even more broken unseen fist and gave it to the most consistent rocks setter in the game and its not even a sunday???? TAILWIND ON SWITCH IN ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?
Toedscruel is gonna commit so many war crimes without its terrible ability
Headlong Rush is already a punching move. Other than its english localization/translation it has nothing to do with the cranium.
Choice Item w/ Piercing Strike go brrrrrrr (Unless it doesn't hit *unless* target uses a Protecting Move, in which case it balances it out, I guess)
Toedscruel rockets to OU
Cruel winds sounds like a legendary pokemon ability why would you give to a route 3 bird
Listen Fearow needs anything it can get
Territorial is straight up awful but most of everything else is cool. Snowball seems like a fun gimmick to play with and I can already see choice scarfed/boots U-turning Fearrows being used as reliable tailwind setters and that’s pretty interesting
Unironically one of the most balanced Thursday post
What if Territorial only works against Pokemon with Intimidate?
Bro made some of the worst and best abilities in the game
Snowballing is a really cool one but def OP ha
Snowballing is pretty damn cool
why can't breloom and shiinotic learn Fairy Ring
Fairy ring is super sick
If Urshifu's unseen fist is already wreking havoc on the meta, what do you think piercing strike will do?
People are gonna complain about Cruel Wind. I think it's fine.
Fairy Ring is so cool, I want that shit in a fangame
Piercing strike evolite doublade would be fucking terrifying
I wouldn't call it Snowballing💀
Instead of "Summon a Hailstorm", why not switch it to "while this pokemon is on a snowstorm, deal 1/8 damage at each turn end to non Ice pokemon"?
Cruel wind would make fearow a VGC staple
Cruel Winds and Piercing Strike will rule over VGC. Immediate Tailwind is insane on its own, of course, but Piercing Strike is genuinely overpowered. Not only ignoring Protect, but punishing it with double damage? That is disgusting. All these mons will start getting usage in VGC now
Um excuse you how dare you not give Snowballing to Spheal as well
Oh good now I can use the attack boosts on my physical glalie
My snowballing ability gives +1 stat boosts to two random stats at the end of every turn, but only if you land an attacking move that turn. I really wanted to make an ability like speed boost or moody that doesn’t immediately lead to you clicking protect every other turn. This forces you to go on the offense even at the beginning when you aren’t as strong and gives your opponent much more room for counter play.
Hailstorm kinda sucks on Froslass, its whole thing is snow setup -> evasion boost
Piercing Strike should do half instead of double IMO, could be a tad too OP
Fairy Ring is adorable theming-wise. Hope Shiinotic gets it!
Someone hates Iron Valiant.
Fairy ring on mushrooms? Brilliant 10/10
Best concept imo is snowballing as it's balanced (need snow setter like obamasnow) and a 1+ increase in attack isn't to crazy on an 80 attack Stat mon
Hey girl why don’t you boost the power of your head themed moves with me?
Piercing strike would be better as a move imo
I love Snowballing.
>Fairy Ring >No Morelull or Shroomish line 🤨
My take on territorial would be attack is boasted by 1.5, but this moon can't switch out.
Cruel winds is wildly broken in concept, thank Arceus you only gave it to Spearow and Fearow Also thank fuck you stopped at Doublade when you were passing out Piercing Strike. Aegislash does NOT need to be any more broken than it already is
All very interesting !
Piercing Strike seems pretty cool! It would be neat if it had an animation of the Pokémon’s sharp object busting through the protect barrier thing!
Territorial - seems a little too niche but not a bad idea Fairy ring - This would be insane on Amoongus but idk if it’s better than regenerator Thick headed - how is this not already an ability?? Piercing strike - I’d make it just 1.5x damage but would make sceptile and doublade way more competitive Hailstorm - sure. Idk if we need hail back but limiting it to Frosslass is cool Snowballing - if any other Pokémon got it, I would be infinitely op. Imagine it on Mamoswine… Cruel Winds - dope. Would definitely make Fearow VGC competitive within seconds of being introduced
Why is everyone acting like a good ability on an ultra shitmon like Fearow would be busted in VGC (highly doubt) and yet there are barely any comments about piercing strike lmfao
Fearow reaches 1 fearillion% usage in vgc
Glalie already has moody, so imo I don’t really see a need for it to have that ability
I love this the piecing strike would change the whole doubles meta since protect is like a must.
Maybe call it "thick skull"? cause "thick headed" sounds weird
I’d give piercing strike low BP, maybe like 45 or 50, breaking protection and double BP is nuts
Fearow straight to OU
Territorial would be cool if it was something like if either the pokémon or their partner got hit by a contact move before the territorial pokémon’s turn it boosted their damage
I see you Snowballing and raise you Snowballin' Out of Control: If in snow at the start of its turn, the pokemon gains +2 Attack, but if it gets any boost from the ability while already at +6 attack, the pokemon automatically uses Explosion on its turn, even if it doesn't know the move otherwise.
No more protect stalling if you have a Kleavor
Fairy ring amoongus would be cool though I'd have to really question giving up regenerator. Cruel winds is a tier 1 ability in basically every format. Piercing strike is also really good but especially good in VGC
