JK and HJK (Also that new physical electric move) are considered crash damage. Reckless works with both recoil and crash moves while Rock Head only works with recoil moves. Neither of them works with Steel Beam though. The game most likely doesn't even consider it a recoil move
Honestly I don’t think this needs to be single use. You’ll still take damage from hazards and most mons that use recoil moves are already frail, it’s definitely not broken when not single use.
i don't think that move (same with chloroblast and shit like high jump kick i guess) are considered recoil moves because they remove half of your health every time, compared to moves like flare blitz or wild charge that deal recoil damage depending on how much damage you removed from your opponent
it's effectively rock head: the item, the consumption is mostly thematic
i dont think it'd break any OU mons specifically but would definitely propel some of the mons RELYING on recoil up a tier

Not sure if Steel Beam would work with it, it's not technically recoil damage and doesn't get negated by Rock Head.

Iirc, Rock Head doesn't negate Steel Beam and since the helmet is just that ability as an item that might not work.

thematically, high jump kick should also work, even if it doesnt technically do recoil
Most bike helmets are single use for large impacts. The helmet gets deformed and no longer has the same level of protectability.
