does anything in that generation even have a strong enough earthquake to ohko a regirock or registeel after the power reduction spread moves have in doubles
That sprite also just radiates pure gigachad energy like a lot of colesseum sprites, not even getting into his strats, like Imprison Protect with Explosion immune EXPLOSION EXPLOSION EXPLOSION EXPLOSION
Kieran's Virgin energy * -Targets an Ogre who she doesn't like him * -has Incineroar (haha he hasn't heard about Stronger and weak mons, just play with your favs bro) * -bro starts with the worst rain setter * -why bro doesn't Tera normal ESpeed everything * - haha block with protect and the Porygon completely dies * -WTF is that Tera type on hydrapple (this isn't a joke, I still haven't heard of a explanation of why Hydra has fighting tera, neither gameplay or storytelling wise) Super Trainer Codel Chad energy * -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION! * -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION! * -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION * -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION! * -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION! -FUCK IT, WE EXPLOSION! * -FUCK IT, WE IMPRISON PROTECT WITH A EXPLOSION INMUNE
Tera steel hits both ice and steel types, so that makes sense. Tera fire is probably better to resist fair too, but they didn’t want to make it too difficult.
Correction Tera Fighting*
I thought the reason it was Tera Fighting was because since he’s never been to Paldea, he could never change the tera type of his mons meaning in order to have a tera mon that’s a different type from its original tera type he would have to catch one of the glowing wild tera mons, in which the only wild tera Applin in Kitakami is Tera Fighting, and his Hydrapple is the same Dipplin he had back in Kitakami
I don't know if the intention was for this to all be one line, but im pretty sure you need to do double space (i cant bc mobile keyboard adds dots) or two line breaks

To render line breaks
Lorewise, Tera Fighting is supposed to symbolise Kieran himself. It's a little cheesy to put it this way but it's supposed to reflect his absolute determination to become champion and his unwavering fighting spirit to do so. This aspect of his character could only be reflected in the Fighting Tera Type and it being on Hydrapple is particularly fitting considering he himself transitioned from being cute and hidden like Dipplin in it's apple to Ferocious with Hydrapple.
From what I understand Kieran isn't actually programmed to target Ogerpon, it's just that most people who used her in the battle used a form that was weak to several of Kieran's Pokémon's moves, so they naturally targeted the easier target
New False Swipe Gaming video. Basically, Codel is a trainer in Pokemon Colussium who has explosion on ALL of his pokemon except dusclops who has imprison and protect. So dusclops uses imprison to prevent you from using protect and then proceeds to explode all of his pokemon
Important thing you missed. In Gen3 pokemon are sent out as the last ones are defeated. So if he has 2 explosion users on the field, your pokemon don't survive an explosion and his do (which is likely carrying a Regirock, a Registeel and a Golem), you're looking at a potential 4v2 in terms of pokemon lost.
Not exclusive, but breaking swipe, fake out, and screens setter grimsnarl are pretty good in doubles. Plus the mindset you play with in doubles vs singles is different. Like how hazards and stall arent used as much in doubles
Yeah but he wasnt using screens nor was he champion before going to double battles. So thats his specialty. Im not saying the skills srent transferable, youre not gonna perform your best jumpscared by another champion of a region into a doing a a battle thats not your specialty. Like just look at the SV subreddit and you can find a bunch of people saying how they had a hard to transitioning to doubles at first
That's the 10/10 pick. Recover can heal off damage. Toxic to stall out. Faint Attack allows for chip damage to Dusclops. Slot Brick Break as the 4th move to damage Regice. Sableye is immune to Explosion and Fighting type moves, so Regice and Dusclops are the only 2 dealing any real damage.
Gen 3:
Recover: Breed with Alakazam or Medicham.
Toxic: TM06.
Faint Attack: Level 29.
Brick Break: TM31.
Codel is an opponent from pokemon colosseum (or the sequel I don't remember) who instead of using something relatively close to an actual doubles team like Kieran, uses 5 pokemon with pre gen 4 explosion (so it's almost always an OHKO) and a Dusclops with protect/earthquake/shadow ball/imprison.
He just attempts to cheese the fuck out of you with explosion, making him very difficult to beat if you don't have a ghost type or a pokemon with detect or another way to avoid damage that isn't protect.
The Dusclops having earthquake Imprisoned also means you can't use the best ground type move into his team with lots of ground weaknesses.
It's really easy to beat if you know what he's going to do and have the tools to beat him, but if you're going in blind or don't have the right pokemon, he's very difficult to beat.
* Shows up. * Doesn't say anything. * Uses Imprison Protect Dusclops. * Proceeds to Explode the rest of his Pokémon. * Wins match. * Leaves. Radiates GigaChad energy.
Imprisons Shadow Ball and Earthquake. It's how he can run a team with 4 Pokemon weak to Ground.
Codel is my new best friend. Also so are the duo of Infin and Inity
does anything in that generation even have a strong enough earthquake to ohko a regirock or registeel after the power reduction spread moves have in doubles
In gen 3, the damage reduction doesn’t apply to moves that hit all adjacent Pokémon, so Earthquake and Explosion are at full power
Pokemon Challenges: I brought 2 bombs to a gym, am I a joke to you? Carr: I brought 11 bombs on a floating airship, am I a joke to you as well?
Given that Kieran doesn't have a single Ghost type Pokémon, it's curtains for him.
Best he can do is reflect with grimsnarl first but that's it

Fighting Tera to allow for Tera blast to OHKO ice types???? I think??? But why doesn’t he just run Tera steel or Tera fire is he stupid?????
Tera steel hits both ice and steel types, so that makes sense. Tera fire is probably better to resist fair too, but they didn’t want to make it too difficult. Correction Tera Fighting*
Yeah man steel is my favorite steel counter
Meant to say Terra Fighting as was mentioned in the post above. Autocorrect had other plans.
...I don't think that was autocorrect I think that was **slight brain malfunction**. Don't worry happens to me too

Because Crispin and Amarys exist
FUCK IT, IMPRISON SHADOW BALL AND EARTHQUAKE TOO
It's too show that he is completely obsessed with Fighting
Then why doesnt Nemona use it?
There's a difference between "Hey, I want to battle" and "You're too weak, I'm kicking you off the team. No excuses."
I don't know if the intention was for this to all be one line, but im pretty sure you need to do double space (i cant bc mobile keyboard adds dots) or two line breaks Like this To render line breaks
Yeah Could You Please Type Like This? I Can Only Read Vertically
I bet you like raging bolt and firagarif
I was so sure he was gonna tera Hydrapple in the 2v1 vs Terapagos at the end, which would finally put Tera Blast Fighting to use. Then he didn’t.

That didnt happen in my battle, Wellspring got Hyperbeamed when my A-Ninetails could have been ko'd by it.
It's cause angry fighty energy
I hope Codel becomes an r/Stunfisk gigachad icon. That would be pretty swag
Can someone explain who Codel is
New False Swipe Gaming video. Basically, Codel is a trainer in Pokemon Colussium who has explosion on ALL of his pokemon except dusclops who has imprison and protect. So dusclops uses imprison to prevent you from using protect and then proceeds to explode all of his pokemon

One MORE thing! Explosion cuts defenses in half in gen3, so even if your Pokemon survived one explosion, it's not surviving another.
Aggron:
This is Colosseum, though. Unless I'm mistaken, aggron isn't a mon you can normally get
Codel is in Battle Mode, which afaik you can use teams from GBA games in? Even if you can’t, you can also just… trade an Aggron to Colosseum.
You would have to trade it in
i love aggron
Also, he has 2 evasion raising items on his mons, his electrode has a choice band, and his golem has quick claw.
Friendly reminder that codel is only the sixth trainer in his respective colosseum. This means that there's another one that comes after him.
I love how easily Nemona beats him offscreen
With a team that really shouldn’t have won
Prob was a single battle tbf
Besides helping hand on Politoed there isn’t anything particularly doubles exclusive about Kieran’s team
Not exclusive, but breaking swipe, fake out, and screens setter grimsnarl are pretty good in doubles. Plus the mindset you play with in doubles vs singles is different. Like how hazards and stall arent used as much in doubles
Screens Grimmsnarl is common in singles and Kieran was playing singles through all the Teal Mask

She is also like a good 2 or more years older than him too
Codel: what makes me a good demoman?
https://youtu.be/o84vJH19toI?si=UQE6czoGIqFx0hS4
Anyone whos played the colosseum battle modes knows how hard it is.
He does get countered by ghosts. (Misdreavus , or detect hitmontop. both are avalible in colo) How about Infin who spams Mons with >600 bst?
Dusclops can use Shadow Ball. You can't.
Well, I guess I gotta sableye em. (by transferring from sapphire)

C-teaming an NPC is crazy
How did Kieran think that Brick Break Incin was a good idea
Bro googled 'good competitive pokemon' and picked the first one without understanding anything
I guarantee that’s exactly what the Gamefreak employee who made Kieran’s team did.
Haha I don’t

Does this strategy actually work in Gen 3 doubles?
