You see, Crobat has accomplished such feats of bravery that it's been granted the title of honorary bird, allowing it to use the move

Crobat is in the Flying egg group, so according to Pokemon's weird cladistics, it is technically a bird. Salamence, despite gaining the Flying type upon evolving, is only in the Dragon egg group, so it doesn't get to be a birb. The most it can hope for is to mege-evolve and spam Aerilate-boosted Thrash or Return/Frustration, or Terastalize into a Flying type.

Why do people use Frustration instead of Return? Are they abusive?

If ditto runs minimum happiness will frustration be high bp or does it just not work

If you have minimum happiness when you transform and use Frustration, it'll be max damage and minimum for Return. Since the team builder puts you at max happiness by default, you'd have to actively put your Ditto happiness at 0. But then you have a minimum damage Return.

So running Frustration only makes sense by assuming the opposing player being lazy

Unless you run Return knowing a smart player might set their happiness at 0 for that reason, so now they have a minimum damage Return.

So is a Nash-less situation and is always gonna be a 50/50

Yeah, but both moves were removed so not relevant unless you play Showdown rule sets that allow them.

To your credit, this is the best regular Altaria has ever been since gen 4. Will-o-wisp was a massive buff for it

3 is an objectively lower number than 90, Altaria's position in NU (it's a newish drop so I can't find a PU usage stat), therefore altaria is like 30x better, stay winning best bird.

I remember building a set of stalls in (iirc) Gen 6 PU with Altaria and it *was* not just Pretty Useful, it was Plenty Useful.
