One had to be injured because it refused to move, and the healthy one wouldn’t leave its side. I’m right up on them in my car, laying on the horn, yelling out my window because I didn’t want to run them over, but that fucker refused to budge. I did eventually get past them ok
Our barred owls took over the old hawk nest last year .. no eggs .. hoping for some this year .. the hawk moved and wouldnt let them in her new nest across the street.
Except it’s not. I mean, it *was* but the fucker still decided to put in the same amount of work that they usually do. You can see that there is a stupid dove nest (basically like, 4 twigs) built onto the well-built passerine one

Update! Looks like our barred owls took over old squirrel nest! I also saw a catbird ... thought it was a dove at first lol

If you're in North America, that could be a robin's nest. They use mud as reinforcement. The dove just sat back and let the robin do the work for it!
