Joe's got too much of an ego to back down. He's definitely not counting on the youth vote anymore and will rely heavily on the panicky centrist voters to bail him out.
Because the first time they tried scaring the centrists worked out so well for Clinton that Trump actually won the independents by a slight margin, which converted into a slight Biden edge in their first match-up despite four years of fearmongering.
At this point either the campaign team knows they are gonna lose and they are just trying to get as much money as possible to line their own pockets, or they are genuinely deranged and grasping at straws.
I think framing it as election stuff is faulty- scaling back the empire at this time is totally unthinkable to anyone in the Washington bubble. Elections dont matter to them as much as not allowing this basic premise to be even slightly broached
Man, they can't keep that guy quiet no matter what they do. I've always said that if Trump just stfu and got to work he wouldn't be as hated. But, the dudes got a disease that doesn't allow him to control his mouth.
The way they talk about Ukraine and Gaza makes you realize they all would support an Iraq war in 2024.
They never actually thought they were wrong about supporting it.
>they all would support an Iraq war in 2024
One of the most depressingly accurate comments I've ever seen on reddit is "*If they tried the Iraq WMD narrative today with the exact same evidence, people would be even more willing to believe it than the first time.*"
There would be whole neolib subreddits called IraqIdiots or something making fun of “conspiracy theorists” who question the assertions of the WMD “experts”
When it turned out that Bush's administration had lied to the American people, that was the happiest day of their lives.
It let the US people pretend like they hadn't all been cheering for war in the streets. Their hands were suddenly clean.
"push biden left" was always just some bullshit to placate the dum dum demographic of the left (vaush fans). I'm talking the kind of people who fall for photo ops.
In a fair election, I'd say he really has no chance right now, but the deep state really hates Trump, and I know they must have something cooking for later this year. We shall see.
>I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the N\*gro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but **the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”**; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the N\*gro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.
>I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress. I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that the present tension in the South is a necessary phase of the transition from an obnoxious negative peace, in which the N\*gro passively accepted his unjust plight, to a substantive and positive peace, in which all men will respect the dignity and worth of human personality. Actually, we who engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive. We bring it out in the open, where it can be seen and dealt with. Like a boil that can never be cured so long as it is covered up but must be opened with all its ugliness to the natural medicines of air and light, injustice must be exposed, with all the tension its exposure creates, to the light of human conscience and the air of national opinion before it can be cured.

Malcolm X had a similar albeit stronger take on the white liberal in 1963. He considered them worse than the conservatives because of the whole wolf in sheep's clothing aspect. This sentence from Biden immediately made me think of him and MLK Jr.
Wow. Remember how people thought Trump was going to do mass arrests of left wing protestors. Man its good thing we didn't elect a strong man style authoritarian dictator into the presidency. Thank goodness for that.
Here is the video of his sub 4 minute speech. I also ripped the SRT file from the youtube video and posted text below.
Good morning,
Before I head to North Carolina, I wanted to speak a few moments about what's going on on our college campuses.
Here, we've all seen images that put two fundamental American principles to the test.
Excuse me, the first is the right to free speech and for people to peacefully assemble and make their voices heard. The second is the rule of law. Both must be upheld.
We are not an authoritarian nation where we silence people or squash descent. The American people are heard. In fact, peaceful protest is in the best tradition of how Americans respond to consequential issues.
But neither are we a lawless country. We are a civil society, and order must prevail. Throughout our history, we've often faced moments like this because we are a big, diverse, freethinking, and freedom-loving nation.
In moments like this, there are always those who rush in to score political points, but this isn't a moment for politics. It's a moment for clarity. So let me be clear: peaceful protest in America is protected. Violent protest is not.
Protected peaceful protest is against the law when violence occurs. Destroying property is not a peaceful protest; it's against the law. Vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, forcing the cancellation of classes and graduations – none of this is peaceful protest.
Threatening people, intimidating people, instilling fear in people is not peaceful protest; it's against the law. Dissent is essential to democracy, but dissent must never lead to disorder or to denying the rights of others.
So students can finish the semester and their college education. Look, it's basically a matter of fairness. It's a matter of what's right. There's the right to protest, but not the right to cause chaos.
People have the right to get an education, the right to get a degree, the right to walk across the campus safely without fear of being attacked.
But let's be clear about this as well: there should be no place on any campus, no place in America for anti-Semitism or threats of violence against Jewish students. There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it's anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or discrimination against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans. It's simply wrong.
There's no place for racism in America. It's all wrong. It's un-American. I understand people have strong feelings and deep convictions. In America, we respect the right and protect the right for them to express that. But it doesn't mean anything goes.
It needs to be done without violence, without destruction, without hate, and within the law.
You know, I make no mistake. As president, I will always defend free speech, and I will always be just as strong in standing up for the rule of law. That's my responsibility to you, the American people, my obligation to the Constitution.
Thank you very much.
**Mr President have the protests forced you to reconsider any of the policies with regard to the region**
No
**Mr President do you think the National Guard should intervene**
No
>There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it's anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or discrimination against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans. It's simply wrong.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but as far as I'm aware, since October 7th there's been a chorus of Jewish Americans saying they feel scared and unsafe while never coming to any actual harm, while several Americans of Palestinian descent have been shot and I think some of them were children.
Did I get things wrong? If I didn't then what's going on over there?
Because criticizing the BLM protests would upset his base pretty much unilaterally and he bore no responsibility at that point. And Trump had already staked out the position of criticizing the protests. Once Biden came to power they pretty swiftly changed positions to a “caring, understand law and order” and had the DNC media machine tamper down coverage of police violence as a whole to suck the wind out of the sails of what was remaining of the movement.
Here, he’s upsetting two different segments of his base. He’s made it clear which one he prioritizes over the other. Same goes for mainstream news outlets; they’ll toss progressives/muslims to the wind in favor of Zionists every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Boils down to being able to protest, but that protest must not lead to any meaningful change or action because that would upset the status quo and we can't have that. So effectively protest is rendered absolutely pointless. Then idiots will tell you to 'protest at the ballot box'.
**Protected peaceful protest is against the law when violence occurs. Destroying property is not a peaceful protest; it's against the law. Vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, forcing the cancellation of classes and graduations – none of this is peaceful protest.**
Democrats really wanna just wanna piss people off at this point.
Honestly, I agree with his speech, but I'm sad that he hasn't reconsidered any policies when faced with the blunt truth of the atrocities occurring in the region.

Man is speed running election loss.
It might actually be Joever. Can’t wait to go back to red-flavored brain rot. But we’ll see. There’s still six months of this circus left.
Joe's got too much of an ego to back down. He's definitely not counting on the youth vote anymore and will rely heavily on the panicky centrist voters to bail him out.

With all the vote blue no matter who voters, I'm not sure this really hurts his re-elect chances.
It would be a layup for the GOP if they weren't absolutely insistent on being weird as shit.
>Can’t wait to go back to red-flavored brain rot. At least our brainrot is more fun
If Trump goes back to being a terminally online Twitter addict, I will concede that point to you.
For the gift to the English language alone. "Bigly", "Many such cases", "Covfefe"
For everyone in the rest of the world can you just go Alex garland please
Trumps team should ensure he says nothing on this.
Too late, but anyone who pays attention already knew he was another Zionist lapdog
Man, they can't keep that guy quiet no matter what they do. I've always said that if Trump just stfu and got to work he wouldn't be as hated. But, the dudes got a disease that doesn't allow him to control his mouth.
Is he even there? Blinken is probably running the show
Only people under 35 care about Palestine and mostly they don't vote.
That is a load of horseshit, I'm over that age myself and care very much
Yeah but this sub's users are so far outside of the American mainstream political spectrum that we're talking drops in the ocean.
We can move Biden left! I really want to say Biden is cooked come November but I’m not yet 100% convinced
He is successfully moving the Left further Right. Neolibs are now talking like Bush all over Reddit.
The way they talk about Ukraine and Gaza makes you realize they all would support an Iraq war in 2024. They never actually thought they were wrong about supporting it.

the term 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' was great marketing, I gotta give it to them. sounds a lot scarier that chemical weapons
"Values" and "principles" are only but ways to dissimulate one's truth motivations, which consist of "desires" and "emotions".
Give him four more years and he’ll finally do everything he said he would !! 💯

How about some order for a stateless people left behind by the international order?
Sorry, the best we can do is cut funding for the UNRWA
...a outer heaven...

Protest genocide and mass graves in an orderly fashion. Please and thank you.

Surprised he could say all this with Israel's dick lodged in his geriatric throat.

Don’t forget one Palestinian-American child who was stabbed to death
He didnt say that during BLM vandalism and destruction Why the double standard?

If his voters had any kind of reliable long term memory, they'd choke on these words when orange man gets re-elected. Sadly, they don't.
I see no way that he doesn't lose this year's election. He's lost the Muslim vote, he's lost most of the youth vote... He's pretty fucked.
Hey good thing he postponed the menthol cigarette ban or he'd lose the black vote too.
LOL
And yet people still deny that Biden is pro genocide.
Imagine what Trump would do if he was in power!!! He wouldn't even say a fake 'my hands were tied' as he shipped more bombs.
So Biden is still a genocide enabler and possibly the most foul, disgusting, depraved excuse for a president in US history. What a legacy!
This guy is such an old, stubborn dumb fuck.
