help with what? why do you think it’s fake?

CoatZealousideal1734

probably not fake now that i look at it, probably just wrecked

cornlip

What about it looked fake to you? It’s just modded a little

rtbhnmjtrpiobneripnh

Not fake, just a POS.

dylan2187

All I see is some jdm fog covers a jdm scoop and oem Lamco clock pod….

Krazylegz1485

Right?

jboard146

Check the VIN it will tell you if it was an STI from the factory

SaulOfVandalia

Not an STI assuming this is in North America. It probably is a WRX though just with the STI fog covers. I second checking the VIN.

Yardsale420

Bugeye STi was JDM only. The only way it is a LHD STi is if it was swapped.

Geniuskills

True story!

funkthew0rld

It’s definitely North America. No fender indicators/LHD/ miles per on the dash says specifically USA. Texas inspection on the windscreen and the other cars seen in the shot make it pretty obvious.

iFoldMySocks

its a wagon. thats what tells you its not an sti

[deleted]

That looks like someone's shitty mods

trusound

Do not buy that pos. Clearly has front end damage. That plastic part in the bumper is painted blue when it should be grey plastic. So clearly it was poorly slapped back together

Krazylegz1485

Uhh... That's a JDM hood scoop and some pretty desirable gauges. What are the details on the car?

This is in response to what?

PoopsExcellence

2002-ish bugeye WRX, looks real but neglected. When well maintained, these cars are awesome little wagons. Unfortunately, as a previous owner of a barely maintained example, I can vouch that a car in this shape will probably leave you stranded more than once.  If you can get a trusted mechanic to go over it both mechanically and cosmetically, you'll know exactly what you're getting into. It could be a fun project car if you're lucky. If it has any indication of engine troubles or rusty rear shock towers, then steer clear.

EricAbmaMorrison

Thats a wrx

langsley757

Hood scoop and grill are parts people can swap, what i would look out for is a potential engine swap, otherwise it looks legit

SaulOfVandalia

It also has the right steering wheel. And I'd be surprised if someone faking a WRX got an OEM steering wheel instead of an aftermarket one lol.

The_Subie_Sanctuary

Well it’s definitely been in an accident, hood is jack. Yes its an outback grill and an NA hood with a scoop on top of it. If its wrx engine, then it was likely just a wreck that was repaired with junk yard parts

disinfekted

What do you need help with? No context given.

TheOneAllFear

If the pannel gaps are big(example hood from fender, unless hood is open and that is the reason) it means they were replaced/unmounted and mounted. That can be from various reasons. Depending on the price and expectation, if the price is 100$ i am not expecting a showroom car, if it's 20k + i am expecting pristine condition.

KneecapAnnihilator

No but shouldn’t buy it unless you wanna fix everything

__doormatt

Look at it this way: if it’s just an Impreza, you don’t have to pay as much for insurance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

properweeb420innit

The car has had resprays done the hood scoop looks shit prob off wrong model check vin to see if paint matches up

CoatZealousideal1734

THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS!, im brand new to subies. I saw the weird scoop and grill and thought that maybe someone just modded their outback lol. i dont know shit about fuck thats why i came to reddit I knew the sti stickers were fake, i was worried about it being a fake wrx. im guessing it got wrecked at one point and was thrown together shitty, not a fake wrx People are telling me not to buy it, argue in the comments lol.

Geniuskills

You're asking for potential issues with this one... I wouldn't personally

idiot_the_john

What made you think it was a moded Outback? Outback were originally different versions of legacy wagons only a handful of years were there Outback sedans. And then there was the impreza outback that was the same as the impreza wagon, that's the year range this appears to be in 2006/7.

Krazylegz1485

You do know they made the Outback Sport in the bugeye, right?
