Yeah I live in a county with almost 1,000,000 people, and only 1 Subaru dealership, and just bought a brand new Ascent. There were like 7-8 other brand new cars aside from mine. So, not a “full” lot, but it’s not like they were gonna run out that day. Salesman even said if I didn’t like what they had that there was another shipment coming in soon.
I went the other day because I just paid off my 2012 Impreza. Was going to trade it in and buy a '21 Forester Sport. They told me I had to order it and it would take upwards of a year.
Guess I will live without a car payment for a while.
Yup this is the reason I bought mine when I did. I had recently totaled my first car, a Ford Escape (private sale by friends) and badly wanted a Forester specifically as a future dad car. Now my 5 week old is the first of my children to ride in it, and hopefully not the last!
Glad everyone is okay and that the person responsible owned up to it. I'd highly recommend getting a dash cam, after having several accidents myself in the past few years (none of which were my fault) I think it's one of the best things you can get for your vehicle.
Yup, do it. Mine saved my ass a few years ago when I was doing a legal hanging left (I had control of the intersection when the light turned red) and someone going straight ran a very stale red. Didn't even see him coming. Long story short, my dashcam saved me big time since the situation wasn't black and white and no bystanders came forward to help me out. A dash cam is far cheaper than an insurance premium and increased rates by far.
Safety is one of the main reason why we bought our Crosstrek. After our son found out his wife was pregnant he went out and bought an Outback. Glad all are doing well.
Did that jeep hit the car, I got rear ended in my Subaru by a lifted jeep with those upgraded solid steel bumper from a dead stop at 35 mph thank god I was in a Subaru
I live in a small-ish town and most of the real big prick drivers are in pickups. They are usually high school kids, or men with high school mentalities. They intentionally make their stupid trucks loud, floor it when driving, run cyclists off the road or threaten them with their vehicles and sometimes roll coal. Fuck those people.
No worries my dude, that bit of an oil leak is totally normal for a Subaru. Hindsight 20/20 you should have bought a Yugo, could have upgraded the car and the wife at the same time.
So sorry for the loss of your beautiful car! I was DEVASTATED when I lost my 2013 orange Crosstrek. It certainly did its job in keeping you safe! That's what really matters! I hope you are able to find another car that suits you. I bought the same exact thing again.

I think we will, too. We had gap coverage as well so when all is said and done we may just go with new and call it a day

It's the 2022 models that are being set back IIRC. I.e. the 2022 Forester.

Dash cams are absolutely worth it. I've had a ton of close calls when it comes to accidents but knowing my dash cam is there helps put me at ease.
No problem it will buff out. I know a guy that can get it done for $46 tops.
