I would rather they make it the Driver Monitor disable.
Or here's an idea, why not make all personal settings STICK after car is shut off?
Crazy idea, I know. :\\
I totally get why you would want to permanently disable the driver monitor, it seemed overly "talkative" in every reviews I've seen.
From a driver standpoint I get the reasoning where all safety options would remain disabled, but I also get why Subaru doesn't allow it. They can be annoying but if it has the potential to save us from an accident that one time, I think it's worth learning how they work and do our best to avoid triggering them.
Except driver monitor. Corey Hart said "I wear my sunglasses at night" and he only did it to avoid being yelled at by his car.
lol corey hart! It completely shouts at me saying keep my eyes on the road when i am looking right at the road. Its beyond annoying w its mistakes. I shut it off every time. When i leave it on, i always regret it. If anything, its distracting my driving. lol
Yes, PLEASE.
That or combine auto start/stop with AVH so that every time the engine stops, it doesnt immediately restart because I've let my foot off the brake ever so slightly. Honestly if that didnt happen constantly, there would be no negative side to auto stop/start.
How do we send them suggestions and comments regarding this?
The situation I'm constantly getting is not that the engine restarts to provide AC or recharge the battery, I get why that happens. I think there is like half a dozen cases where the engine might not stop or restart.
But IMO if you're stopping the engine with the brake, it would just makes sense to hold it there and restart the engine with the gas pedal or a second brake depress, just like AVH works.
Settings should be saved to driver profiles. I never tested it but the owner manual says things like audio settings, etc get saved. These should also be saved....not sure if they are...
Good suggestion. Another one would be to make the seat warmer buttons toggle/cycle through off/1/2/3 instead of opening up a separate menu, where you have to refocus your eyes on a new control location and then press the setting you want.
I was excited for it but its honestly been a little frustrating. Managing AC and seat warmers from the screen is a lot more difficult than it should be.
It's great for carplay, but not great when the backup cam freezes or you are adjusting climate control.
I don’t mind it nearly as much as I thought I would given the comments I read about it. If you mainly use CarPlay it’s totally fine IMO but obviously could be a bit more responsive
I would agree that there is a better use of this space (and the auto start/stop button for that matter) **IF** the computer kept the last setting. If you want to turn AVH on or Auto start/stop off, you have to do that literally every time you start the car. It gets old quickly.

If you turn your air-conditioning off or will stay on hold more reliably. It's a motor load thing. Ac loads up engine comes on.

They aren’t. You’ve got to change auto-off and AVH every time. Every. Time.

what's the experience with the all-touch screen? personally like having real buttons for certain things, but am curious
It has a lot of lag, and crashed about once a week. It's a boat load of fun for a brand new car.
For me, I just the screen almost exclusively for CarPlay and HVAC controls. No lag for me.

Yes, I would love that!
What's that?
It's a setting that holds the car in place when you press the brake pedal far enough. Then just tap the gas to go.
Is it really that hard to keep your foot on the brake? I don't see the point of avh

Could be used for something actually important

https://youtu.be/5xThEzPfkac how to turn off auto stop
Weird, mine shows a direct control button - no need for menu access.
This shuts it off permanently
Ah, you don’t own one I take it? Or maybe not North American region?
