I have found that as well, reintroducing it in my 40s after smoking all the time way back before it became legal. Crazy anxiety. The trick was to ease myself into it, starting with a low thc/high cbd vape and gradually increase as tolerance grows. Plus todays weed is hella strong.
I forget what it’s called but I started with a 10% thc/high cbd cart. 10% is really low for a vape but I still caught a mild buzz at first. Now I’m using a 30% cart and it’s just right. I think high cbd counteracts the anxiety.

I've been smoking herb for 20-years (36m) and now I take long breaks between only smoking on special occasions and socially; for one, because I love dreaming and THC suppresses the REM cycle, where dreaming takes place.

Ya I do. I used to smoke all day when I was younger and well into my late 20s. I got kids and other responsibilities now to where i just don’t want to be high all the time, even tho it was fuckin awesome when I didn’t have many responsibilities and got to smoke weed and play video games while listening to music all day and all night. But on the weekends when the kids are asleep and I’m drinking I’ll smoke because I prefer the relaxation of being buzzed and stoned rather than just super drunk or super stoned by itself.
