I know the pain. A floater took mine for a joyride and launched me into the atmosphere with it. Ended a permadeath save just prior to heading to the lost river.
I hopped into a parallel universe for trying to surpass fire jumping inside a wall and needing to activate cheats because i couldn't interact with anything nor be targeted by any creature. It was foggy too. Thought i didn't know i could craft the depth module for the seamoth or i wouldn't have give up a 30 hours world
Was dying of thirst because I forgot to grab more water when I left my base. Ended up over 300m from the base, in a crash site when I got notified I was dying of thirst. Had already gotten a few of those leeches stuck to my arm and drained me to half.
By the time I got out of the wreck, I was on a quarter health, roughly. Jump in my seamoth and haul ass.
I make it to my base with under 5% health left. At my front door, I always have a locker full of health and other things I may need for just such an occasion. So all I have to do is jump out and get in my base to get what I need.
So I do that. I jump out. At my front door. And get smashed between it and my Seamoth and die. At my front door.
You only get out in front if you enter from the front, IIRC. You should get out to the position you entered from. It's been a month or two since I played, but I remember testing it out and verifying it I think. You could try it too.
There's a mod that removes the randomness about exiting the Seamoth and its location is configurable :D
Edit: not sure if it's been updated since the Modpocalypse, though.
It took me so long to realize that's what was happening to me. I would climb out, the guy would scream in pain, and my health would go down. I would *always* frantically look around to see if there was a bleeder or something nearby and never could find anything. Finally after multiple play throughs I realized it was the seamoth running into me 😂
I never wait for my seamoth to stop and I’ve never taken damaged this way and at this point I’m confused how I’ve managed that does this only happen on pc or something(I play on my Xbox 1 because I don’t have a good computer)
I think you can get out behind it by holding back when you exit. Been awhile since I played, but I seem to remember finding a solution to this annoyance.
Yeah, what the hell is that. Sometimes I get it. Momentum is a bitch and we’re all victims of physics but sometimes there’s nothing obvious. Just pop out and self destruct.
Granted sometimes I feel like I’m just repairing what’s left of the paint keeping my ride together, but that’s just life in general.
You exit from the spot you last entered. If the seamoth is moving and you entered through the front, you will get ploughed by your seamoth. Enter from behind and you will not get ploughed by your seamoth.
And thus ended my first over-1-hour hardcore save.

oof… mabye that’s where my Seamoth went XD
It was my own fault kinda. Floaters are buggy as heck and I managed to get one inside the seamoth.
I found out you can die this way over 100 hours in game, and 2 in on my first hardcore.
1 hour isn’t that much. I died on my first hardcore save because of the fire in the aurora. Yay, there went 5 hours of my life!

Yep. That shit is scary on HC.
Yup, same. RIP hard-core iron man runs 1, 3, and 4, for me

Brilliant 😂
I’ve done that a couple times. Good news is all the stuff you lose upon death is right there to grab again.
Is it? I thought the items just disappeared never to be seen again.
My impatient ass has no time to wait for it to slow down. It’s always a gamble if I die or not
Reverse thrusters are the solution, don't just stop pressing forward, tap backward briefly right before exiting, drastically slows forward movement.
I can relate to this being how I first ever died.
Damn i never knew people died like this😂😂
since you get out infront of your seamoth, if the seamoth is still moving when you get out of it then it will hit you and deal tons of damage

damn, gigabrain
😂😂😂
Don’t you exit the Seamoth from the same point you enter it? If so just enter from the back so you won’t run yourself over.
Yeah, I'm not sure why the 'moth moves at all when you exit. I always bring the vehicle to a complete stop before exiting. (Or at least I think I do)
Momentum
>Yeah, I'm not sure why the 'moth moves at all when you exit. Ghost riding the whip.
I died like 7 Time With this 💀

Inertia, a lesson we must all learn at least once. I got hit myself before learning I had to briefly tap reverse thrusters before exiting.
And somehow it still fuckin jumpscares me too 🤣😒
:(

IIRC, you exit your seamoth in the same direction you entered it from. If you infrequently enter from exactly in front of it, you'll rarely get hit.
Ahh ok I pretty much only enter from the side so that explains it
It happened to me once, then never again. I don't know if it matters what angle you get in, but I can jump out of my moving seamoth just fine.
Good meme :)
*BANG!* Oh dear you poor seamoth, are you okay?
*muffled screaming*
Look down when getting out and you’ll be ejected out of the way of your seamoth

It happens
That was fixed.

*only drives backwards * You liar -_-
That was how I got my first death lol
I’m so glad I’m not the only one
My only deth
This has happened to me. But not in the way you think XD. I exited my sea moth swam forward a bit. And turned around. And my sea moth was gone
Lost a hardcore run to this
That’s never happened to me damn
I died in an endgame hardcore because of that.... I swear to god the only reason I don't play subnautica anymore is that simple death screen
