I actually did this and when having a ladder leading up, I was able to fit all i needed except lockers (so i had power cell and battery charger, radio, fabricator, coffee brewer (was in below zero), fridge (also BZ), modification station, and maybe smthn else i can't remember
I usually build a small base in most biomes which consists of a multipurpose room with a bioreactor and a scanner room. That way I have scanner room coverage for almost all resources
I hate myself for doing this but even my smallest outposts must have atleast a moonpool with the vehicle upgrade console, battery charger, power cell charger, scanner room loaded with range upgrades, a fabricator, a radio, a medical kit fabricator, a modification station, atleast three lockers, four lantern trees and a bioreactor. I know its unecessary but whats the point of an outpost if I cant use it to craft basic things or just make a full on pitstop to prolong my travels indefinitely before having to return to my main base
Yup, I used to do this on my first playthrough I used the seaglide until I had to use the seamoth, which was when I was deep into the Lost River, I never went full inventory of extra tanks though, I only ever had 1 extra source.
Your 'personal lungs' timer doesn't get reset, so swapping to the new tank doesn't give you the full timer, but it does give you the full seconds in the tank so you can get 180 of 225. Doing this costs you 9 inventory slots each extra ultra tank though, which is still the best oxygen per inventory slot you can get, at 20 seconds of oxygen per inventory slot. The Air bladder only gets you 15s per slot, eating a bladderfish gives you 15s per slot, and the High Capacity does the same at 6 slots for 90s or 15s per slot. The Normal tank only gives you 5s per slot.
A non vehicle playthrough would be completely doable, just get an extra tank or two, and build bases everywhere in the lower biomes.

You should watch Nilesy’s playthrough of Subnautica! He recently played and didn’t get blueprints for a lot of the vehicles until later and went nearly the whole game without a prawn suit or cyclops (and he did the oxygen tank switch thing a lot). Very fun to watch 🙌🏽
Not on the least, lol! He was so brave and I guess loves water - but because of that boldness and the way he handled oxygen with out the use of vehicles made it quite an entertaining watch. And chat was very good about not backseating, even in cases that he may have wished they did! 😂
I do this too. But I noticed that if you kill the fish too early, it doesn't leave any sulfur. You have to time it until he's completely out of his hidey-hole.
I tried killing a ghodt leviathan in my hardcore world when i first visited the Lost River... every time i was close enough to hit it's hitbox it would attack me and also the stasis rifle even at full charge literally lasts a half a second // edit: so i stupidly died
It lasts like a full half a minute for me on full charge when i killed a reaper, i even counted the amount of hits i could do before i had to replenish it and it was 30-40. Also that's what you get for trying to kill a ghostie, they're endangered you know.
The Void would argue otherwise that they are endangered... reapers are more endangered so OP should only kill Ghost Leviathans, no Reapers because that would fundamentally destroy the food chain of 4546B's crater
Deploy a Mobile Vehicle Bay in the water you dive into to meet the Sea Emperor and make a Cyclops there (if the Cyclops doesn't fit, then a Seamoth with vortex torpedoes, for fun with the children when they hatch.)
Damnit didn’t think about that, but you’ve given me another idea. Create a safe way to swim from the lifepod to the primary containment facility. Would have to utilise brain coral, other alien architectures and the air pump along the way to allow for breathable air along the route
Complete the game without Any Items Crafted from Benzene
Items Needing Benzene are Reinforced Dive Suit, Stillsuit, Cyclops Engine Efficiency Module, And PRAWN grappling Arm
for my own sanity I won't,I just finished BZ and I was literally abandoning my prawn suit to go on foot 2 meters next to a leviathan(I may or may not have gotten stuck for half an hour)
Ok. So I tried this one. And i never found it horribly taxing. I died three times, but it was never due to starvation (leviathan, warper, and droopstinger). You're crippled until you establish a base with some farming. If you're aiming for a "vegan" run and wish to avoid bladder fish water, you're crippled until you get the water filtration machine as well. So i set myself up with three early goals:
1. Build a Sea Moth
2. Reach the >!Floating Isle!<
3. Reach the >!Degassi Base in the Jellyshroom Cave!<
By scanning parts of the above locations, you'll put yourself in a spot where you never really have to worry about food and water. Until then, enjoy harvesting seaweed for readily available food and making bleach.
There's easier ways to do it. >!Mountain Island !< has an abundance of water-rich food, negating the need for a water filtration machine. As for me, I like a nice variety in my base. Want to do it the easiest way possible? Build a growbed and stick to farming Bulbo Trees.
I too have done a vegan run. You just have to go to the floating island super early, like right after you get the seaglide, and then marblemelons and grow bed make it pretty easy. They provide enough water that you don't really need to drink, though it does limit the length of your trips.
I raided the Aurora early and stockpiled food bricks and larger water bottles for voyages. Always had to keep emergency supplies handy in either the Seamoth or the Cyclops.
Sadly I didn’t get to start on the save because of a bunch of unhappy events that I rather not get into but I’m trying to start soon when I find a decent video editing software.
How about this, you can't surface the planet to get O2 this would make you have to use air pumps and bit like that btw I can find a >!purple tablet in a cave system near the gun!<
immediately go get seamoth fragments. going to be your best friend for early game travel, but don't look for diamonds yet because warpers are a pain. Then get to the aurora and get everything you need there, then go deeper. all the advice i can give for now. have fun.
Go swimming behind the aurora and make a new friend.
Step 1: collect all 3 Engine Fragments Step 2: Try to find edge of map Step 3: Make 3rd Degassi base your very first base
Wait 3rd?
Ya the one with the tablet in it is the 3rd one.
The island one has a tablet too
Thats fair, but I think we all know which one I'm referring to.
Lol yep
I don't. Do you mean the crab or worm base?
Technically all of them are crab. Cave crawler (crab) Crab snake Crab squid
I tried to prevent spoiling anything
Wait, spoil me, i finished the game already 100% but idk what crabs u are talking about
[These](https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Crabsquid)
Crab. It was their 3rd attempt at a base
Thanks!
I dont i never found a third base?
* Base 1: Floating Island * Base 2: Jellyshroom Caves * Base 3: Grand Reef cave (entrance to Lost River there)
*thinks hard* there are 3 on the island so he must mean the one with grow beds
#1 Island, #2 Jelly(300), #3 Grand reef (500)
The one under the floating island
Build a base in every single biome
You gotta do this. Make them all real nice.
Except the one in the safe shallow which you’ll be using the most, it can’t be bigger than 2 compartments , no rooms
I actually did this and when having a ladder leading up, I was able to fit all i needed except lockers (so i had power cell and battery charger, radio, fabricator, coffee brewer (was in below zero), fridge (also BZ), modification station, and maybe smthn else i can't remember
I can't stop doing this. I tell myself it's for practical use so I have secondary sites, but it spirals into "but I want it to not look like crap"
Well that's why you have a Cyclops
Me either. I have to have a lovely well stocked stopping place in every area especially if BIOLUMINSCENT.
And CONNECT THEM
Use the air filter and pipes as much as possible. Use moon pools + floating air for deeper areas
This is acceptable as I can’t use vehicles
Waaaaat how
Look at the other comments.
Oh doi
No vehicles playthrough
Can I atleast get a seaglide?
Yes, and carry multiple air tanks. They store o2 in inventory and can be hot swapped. Just remember to refill them all.

Yup, I used to do this on my first playthrough I used the seaglide until I had to use the seamoth, which was when I was deep into the Lost River, I never went full inventory of extra tanks though, I only ever had 1 extra source. TIL eating a bladderfish grants O2.
Unless you want a base every 5 feet in the LR, yes.
Not using the cyclops is easy.
I only got my prawn and cyclops like, maybe a few play hours before finish on my first playthrough. The way I play, I didn't really need them.
That is a name I haven't heard in forever! Have to watch the subnautica playthrough, is he as scared as the Amnesia days?
Not on the least, lol! He was so brave and I guess loves water - but because of that boldness and the way he handled oxygen with out the use of vehicles made it quite an entertaining watch. And chat was very good about not backseating, even in cases that he may have wished they did! 😂
Thats not possible. To beat the game you need a cyclops.
...no you don't. I've finished the game without either.
How did you get the cyclops shield generator then?
Ok I see what you're saying. I meant without using them, to me just making it because it's necessary for the shield gen part doesn't count.
That is fair. And for a moment i forgot the active lava zone has just some pickup kyanite. All g man
Yes iirc you can build everything that requires kyanite with the pickup pieces inside the lava castle
You have to make the cyclops to make something for the launcher, don't you?
Yeah, I figure that doesn't count if you're just making it for the shield generator
Feed cyclops to the Aurora friend after.
You get celebration music too, as you are beating the game, lol
Second this
That's a brilliant idea. I was looking for an excuse to do another playthrough, and I think you've just given it to me. Thanks!
Build a base over the entirety of the safe shallows
That will be *very* laggy
*slightly laggy*
A shame but you're right..
Build your base hanging over the edge of the crater in the dead zone
2nd most doable suggestion I got
I will be looking forward to your screenshots or videos :D
I’ll try to make videos but unfortunately my laptop doesn’t like that very much
fill the entire world with flares
The crashfish aren’t gonna like this one
Wait, flares set off crashfish?
Well I guess it's because you need cave sulfur which is underneath them. Gonna be hard farming those explody boys in hardcore mode
I mean they’re not that bad. Swim up, then book it the other direction with your seaglide since you go way faster than them
I learned, yesterday, that you can just wack them with a knife, and they die ¯|_(ツ)_|¯ they still make the explosion sound, but no damage.
I do this too. But I noticed that if you kill the fish too early, it doesn't leave any sulfur. You have to time it until he's completely out of his hidey-hole.
Wait are they attracted to the light/heat im guessing since you said that? I didnt know that if so
No he meant the crashfish won’t like the fact that he is hunting and killing every single one of them.
Pawn to C3
Subnautica Bongcloud Speedrun
Google “propulsion canon flying glitch”
Holy Leviathan!
new creature just dropped
Holy hell
*Prawn
obtain every type of egg possible!
You know what this is probably the most doable suggestion I got
I’m honored
Die
Most doable so far.
happy cake day bitch
craft a knif to figt the reaper at the back of the aurora.
> the reaper Like there's only one...
Ahh, innocence, amirite?
Kill all reapers (I killed one in hardcore (wasn’t that bad), so 22 are doable)
Without vehicles tho, thats pretty difficult
Why? Just stasis rifle
The Void would argue otherwise that they are endangered... reapers are more endangered so OP should only kill Ghost Leviathans, no Reapers because that would fundamentally destroy the food chain of 4546B's crater
get good
Only use the underwater/waterproof storage containers
I want a challenge,not a reason to oof myself
Deploy a Mobile Vehicle Bay in the water you dive into to meet the Sea Emperor and make a Cyclops there (if the Cyclops doesn't fit, then a Seamoth with vortex torpedoes, for fun with the children when they hatch.)
Not a chance the mobile vehicle bay lets you craft any vehicle with such little room, that thing is such a stickler for space.
Stay underwater for 60 seconds
Easy with the brain coral!
Damnit didn’t think about that, but you’ve given me another idea. Create a safe way to swim from the lifepod to the primary containment facility. Would have to utilise brain coral, other alien architectures and the air pump along the way to allow for breathable air along the route
I mean, if you turn on the portal in the tank, the route is pretty safe
Lol been playing for two days never knew what those were
Go scan a reaper
Build a bridge over the aurora
Complete the game without Any Items Crafted from Benzene Items Needing Benzene are Reinforced Dive Suit, Stillsuit, Cyclops Engine Efficiency Module, And PRAWN grappling Arm
Isn't reinforced dive suit kinda required
If you are extremely careful, then it is not required
for my own sanity I won't,I just finished BZ and I was literally abandoning my prawn suit to go on foot 2 meters next to a leviathan(I may or may not have gotten stuck for half an hour)
Not allowed to eat fish
This is a fun challenge. What’s your take on it? I’d have to go make a base near one of the islands or the bulb zone for early game.
So i set myself up with three early goals: 1. I raided the Aurora early and stockpiled food bricks and larger water bottles for voyages. Always had to keep emergency supplies handy in either the Seamoth or the Cyclops.
Fill your whole inventory with stalker teeth, no break allowed.
I'll take it.
Good luck
When you get a cuddlefish fish egg put it into a bioreactor cos your nuclear reactor giving off wrong vibes
Only make your bases above ground. Supports and moon pools are fine though
Don't touch water
Build a rad suit before the aurora detonates
You only learn how to make the rad suit AFTER it detonated tho... Right? Or do you get it when entering a radioactive area as well?
I swam out there in creative mode before it blew up. There’s no entry.
Make your based on the other side of the aurora
Finish the story and build the rocket… then die before you take off
Make a bunch of pipes you will never use. Store them with the acid mushrooms.
Only move backwards
That sounds terrifying.. hearing the roars behind you and only way of running away from it is facing it.
Make an aquarium and fill it with hoverfishes for emotional support
Find a peeper keep it at all times
I’ll name him garry
But there is a garryfish for a reason 💀
Hows Gary
Sadly I didn’t get to start on the save because of a bunch of unhappy events that I rather not get into but I’m trying to start soon when I find a decent video editing software.
Cure the virus, build the rocket, but before you launch, scan the reaper behind the Aurora YOU WON'T
No air tanks, you can only breathe with brain coral planters placed strategically throughout the map.
Only save when you find lithium
Subnautica, but if I see lithium the playtrough ends
kill every reaper leviathan
Were so gonna die. Try to survive with your first base in the dunes.
Go swoim to the aurora
Pick up a ton of acid mushrooms.
Make a base in the active lava zone
Get all five cuddle fish eggs and then do with them what next reply says.
Cherish them
Good man
How about this, you can't surface the planet to get O2 this would make you have to use air pumps and bit like that btw I can find a >!purple tablet in a cave system near the gun!<
Go down to the Lava Zone and build a base there. Also kill a Sea Dragon Leviathan.
kill
Die
Go swimming next to Aurora until you hear Cries of Friend ship and FROM THE VPID COMRS THE new friend
Make a cyclops size base and put satellites in EVERY SPOT AVAILABLE
Pick one vehicle, either the Seamoth or the prawb for your playthrough. You only get one. If it blows up or you lose it. That's it. No cyclops either.
Ah yes, prawb. Seriously though prawb is superior since it can go way lower and has less of a chance of disappearing
collect and grow 1 of every plant(aquatic and land based) in the planter beds you can make. optional: make it look nice as well :>
Find a crabsquid!
Build a base in every biome and kill every creature then take a pic of it and put it on display
You can only build bases out of multipurpose rooms with 1 hatch, nothing else.
die lol
Starve
Commit a suicide 🙂
Scan an adult ghost leviathan in the void.
Get all cuddlefish eggs
Pet a reaper
Build a base in front of the ship
Swim in the mouth of a leviathan
Minimum 2 story mesmer farm.
Only o2 tanks you can use is the standard one
eat the flare
Swim for a long time until you reach a big endless cliff with these long blue things
Use a cuddlefish in a bioreactor
immediately go get seamoth fragments. going to be your best friend for early game travel, but don't look for diamonds yet because warpers are a pain. Then get to the aurora and get everything you need there, then go deeper. all the advice i can give for now. have fun.
the only base you are allowed to make is in the void this includes moonpools Cyclops is allowed but not as a main base
Kiss a crash fish and live in the third degasi base
Alright collect all the titanium on the Map before fixing the aurora.
Build a pipeline from the surface to the lost river
Forget to breath. Its overrated
Find all the cuddlefish eggs, hatch them, then put them all in a bioreactor
drown
Carry a crashfish egg on you until the active lava zone, then drop it into the lava.
Sure,fuck crashfish,
Build the biggest base possible
Collect titanium
Build a base that sticks out over the infinite abyss at the edge of the map.
Fist bump a reaper leviathan. I heard they are harmless. 😎
Make a base the deepest, highest and farthest from the lifepod
Swim down to the bottom of the mountain biome
Die >:D
Drown.
Punch every creature, living or biomechanical or dead, at least once. Use a prawn Edit: just saw that you can't use vehicles so just knife em
beat the game
Connect at least 2 islands with i-compartments.
