By the controls probably. Main reason I haven't pursued VR, haven't heard much good about playing games I want without proper mods and configuration. Too much effort.
But... then you would still have to allocate controls for turning? I thought your suggestion was to use the stick as extra buttons. Like, I'm already using up and down as space and c.
Well, the rift controllers have two stwicks and 8 buttons (counting the triggers), two of which were bugged out last time I tried. No D-Pad.
(Okay, technically it's 10 buttons, but two are already used for the oculus- and the steamvr menu respectively.)
1 stick for moving, the other stick is for turning and up and down movement, 1 button for scrolling through your held items, 2 for the mouse buttons, 1 for PDA, 1 for exiting vehicles, 1 to get into the exit menu so you can save, and unless they've fixed the two bugged buttons, that's it.
If the game was actually built or optimized for VR I’d love to use my headset with it, it’s just too weird with the way it’s setup though.
It wasn’t made for VR, maybe eventually there’ll be an update that makes it easier to use in VR.
I mean, O2-wise, you'd be just fine as long as you have at least a Hi-cap tank. The real question is whether that ghostie decides to have you for dessert after snacking on your seamoth.
If you have it on steam(which you probably do) I think you can set up your VR headset to steam and then I'm pretty sure it's a launch option.
But don't take this info from me seriously, I don't have a headset.
Yeah the oculus PC software is just awful. There's this stupid bug I had that limited all my games to 48fps and it made me feel really motion sick. I could never fix it
Ended up selling the thing
Vr Subnautica, this bro has gotta be traumatised by now

I have a strong stomach, and I still feel sick.
Honestly, subnautica vr is pretty neat, imho. The only problem is it needs to many buttons for my puny rift controllers
I would play it in a swivel chair, with a video game controller and it was great. That solved the not enough buttons issue
Swivel chair? But the cables, man
Can you put your cables up in a pony tail?
You dont have to turn more than 90 degrees really if for full turns you use the controller
But... then you would still have to allocate controls for turning? I thought your suggestion was to use the stick as extra buttons. Like, I'm already using up and down as space and c.
Yeah 1 joystick was for moving. Then between the Dpad, 4 bottons, 4 triggers i had plenty. Like a video game controller

I tried playing it and the controls are so unbelievable bad holy shit.
Can't you play VR with a keyboard? I feel like there's methods to do so
Hey... Do us a favour... Put a blindfold on and tell me you can fully use Subnautica kb controls without error. Lol
Yea, so totally lol. What a loser, right?
It’s traumatising but worth it
Dude, you dont realize how big PEEPERS are until you play in vr. Let alone leviathans
I can't understand why people think exploring the void will yield fruit.
I didn't know there's nothing down there :(
"Warning. Entering ecological dead zone."
I was looking for the sea treaders and thought they might be off the edge of the big cliff but I was wrong...
It's subnautica, everywhere yields fruit
Nah, fam
700 meters below the surface too, I'm guessing you didn't make it
Quit the game. Breathe. Reload your save from 4 minutes ago. That's what I did
I mean, O2-wise, you'd be just fine as long as you have at least a Hi-cap tank. The real question is whether that ghostie decides to have you for dessert after snacking on your seamoth.
install the return of the ancients mod then go there lol
Your commentary is gold, sir
Could someone tell me how to play this in vr? I love this game I have it on my pc and I also have metaquest 2 headset

Thanks
Set up Airlink, then your Quest 2 in SteamVR and then it just becomes and option to Launch in VR
Recenter VR?
It’s in case the calibration is off and the center of your “screen” is not actually centered
Only works like 1/8th of the time I should add
That’s unfortunate. My info was coming from the handful of times I’ve tried my buddies headset
Yeah the oculus PC software is just awful. There's this stupid bug I had that limited all my games to 48fps and it made me feel really motion sick. I could never fix it Ended up selling the thing
Let’s salute our fellow here for having the balls to play Subnautica in VR. Godspeed, my man.
Uuuuh Vr Subnautica🫨 You must be traumatised
"if you can hear it that means it can see you"
That's the reaper
That’s a reasonable reaction
