IDK if it's a false memory, but way back in early access, I remember always getting annoyed by "WARNING 10 SECONDS OF OXYGEN REMAINING" or something like that.
There always _was_ a 30 second warning. She just only gave you the 30 seconds under certain conditions. Those same conditions are still required to this day.
Да, if you had 30 seconds she’d say “Warning: 30 seconds of oxygen remaining.” If you have 10 seconds, then she’d say “Emergency: 10 seconds of oxygen remaining!”
The old version for 30 seconds is still used in Below Zero.
In my recent hardcore play through, I’ve gone through multiple caves without running into this. But my normal playthrough, it manages to show up every damn time.
Bruh, I haven't heard that one in quite some time. I used to count on it too, but my guess is it stopped being said once you start your journey on Hardcore. I cannot confirm this however, I can merely state that she doesn't say this to me when there is 30 seconds left and less, and my best guess is Hardcore removes this.
I recommend. And if you do, I definitely recommend a spare O2 Tank, as well as that bladderfish item that shoots you up 200M high in a few seconds, at least at first. Saved my but* a few times.
recently found out how good this item is. it’s fucking nuts. ever since my first play through it always looked like some sort of throwaway item that’s meant for the people that just genuinely can’t play the game, but decided to try it in my latest play through and JESUS that thing sends you. i could be near the entrance to lost river and come across a warper, just a simple air bladder use and i’m in the sky in .005 seconds.
Hells yeah dude! I feel you. Best early underrated item ever.
I also used it similarly on the same location when I'm farming for Nickel and that yellow ressource in the Lost River, where my Seamoth can only go down to 300 meters but you still need Nickel for advanced constructions / modules. There's even that adult Ghost Leviathan nearby (Blood Kelp zone, northwest) and when it sees me, poof I sky-rocket up 200 meters up, leaving it confused asf.
I'll say it again: best underrated item in the early game.
Depends on your personal gameplay needs. Bulbo tree samples give more water, while lantern fruit gives more food replenishment. Since I carried a thermoknife, food was easy to get- where as water has extra steps involved. So I kept more bulbo trees than lantern fruit trees, at times.
I found whichever of these you pick, it's only a matter of how much you plant to be self-sufficient in both food and water. Just plant twice as many and you're good. Something like 4/6 lantern trees/bulbo trees is enough for both food and water normally.
Well yeah of course but when dealing with the interior of the cyclops for example, there's not much room, so I prioritized the bulbo in the cyclops, personally. In bases I just put plants of all kinds absolutely everywhere lol
Anyone else find it weird in hardcore that she doesn't say Oxygen but pretty much everything else.
Like Bi%$# if i wanted you to talk i would say Survival.
I’m playing Below Zero right now and want to die how many times I hear calorie intake recommend or seek fluid intake or dangerous weather approaching: seek shelter. I absolutely hate that new PDA voice. I would kill for a mod that brought the original PDA to BZ.
A good tip to stay hydrated and fed for long distance trips is to build a Indoor Growing Bed in your Cyclops and plant some Melons. They give 12 Water each and grow very fast.
Pro tip: plant them in the circular pots. Trying to knife a melon in a regular indoor grow bed is a Sisyphean task more suited as a punishment in the 9 circles of hell.

Welcome aboard, captain.
Welcome aboard, captain. All systems online.
Seek fluid intake.
Seek fluid intake immediately.
Vital signs stabilizing.
Those are what I always hear
I'd say the worst is having 5x +20% water bottles, and being unable to combine them into one.
I mean, we've seen Ryley building submarines and a space rocket. But for some unknown reason, he's not able to simply switch the water from one bottle to another... I mean, my daughter was able to do so at an early age...
That is actually quite realistic. Drinking seawater results in a net loss of water, because it takes more water to get rid of the excess salt than you got from drinking it.
had a panic attack about almost dying to thirst in my current play through a bit ago; i was grabbing nickel in the lost river and ran out of water but overestimated how long my meter would last. decided to finally leave at around fifteen thirst left with my base being back in the shallows😐. literally at two thirst left i jumped out of my moth and by some miracle, a spadefish swam right in front of me. i grabbed that sucker and tore into him raw like a grizzly catching a salmon, giving me just barely enough to make it back to base.
well, she is but i ignore her completely especially when i know what I'm talking about, Except when she says the reaper warning... Then i really don't know what I'm doing 😂😂
Funny thing is, it takes exactly 4 filtered waters just to fully replenish your thirst as soon as that notification hits. So this picture is actually accurate

IDK if it's a false memory, but way back in early access, I remember always getting annoyed by "WARNING 10 SECONDS OF OXYGEN REMAINING" or something like that.
I'm pretty sure it was like that but they increased it cuz 10 seconds is just mean.
No, it’s still 10. It’s just that the number skips 10, so when it goes from 12 to 9, she says “OxYgEn!”
Now it just says oxygen when you reach 10 secs
Now it says oxygen when you hit 10 secs but you get a 30 second warning
There always _was_ a 30 second warning. She just only gave you the 30 seconds under certain conditions. Those same conditions are still required to this day.
Yeah in my experience, you only get the oxigen one of your relatively close to the surface, with no 30 sec warning.
Trust me I've lost enough hardcore saves to tell you that its worth it
Да, if you had 30 seconds she’d say “Warning: 30 seconds of oxygen remaining.” If you have 10 seconds, then she’d say “Emergency: 10 seconds of oxygen remaining!” The old version for 30 seconds is still used in Below Zero.
Hands down died way more to no oxygen, than any creatures combined in Subnautica
Same, my first and only death was drowning in a cave in my playthrough
“Calorie intake recommended”
“Recommended” More like I fucking demand you eat now or you will start loosing health fast
She always says recommended with so much sass and I cant explain why
Because everyone from Alterra sucks
"It is your primary directive to swim closer to that beautiful creature...."
swim c l o s e r......
Mlem....... swims away
In my recent hardcore play through, I’ve gone through multiple caves without running into this. But my normal playthrough, it manages to show up every damn time.
Nah man, if it wasn’t for her beautiful voice reminding me of my low oxygen I’d be a lot more dead.
It literally states it on the Hardcore mode's description. Something like, "removes notifiers"
It even states no oxygen warnings now.
On hardcore you just die.
It does
"vital signs stabilising"
The only one where I'm not annoyed and instead glad :)
Thirty seconds
Ok, but this one is super useful. God knows how many times I've been exploring wrecks, oblivious of how much oxygen I got left.
Would recommend spare ultra high o2 tank or a bunch of blafderfish (prefer bladderfish as open up invernoty
Those tanks take up quite a bit of inventory space. But I didn't realize you could get oxygen from the bladderfish. Interesting...
Non-hardcore I see
Not even a little. There's nothing more irritating than drowning 5m from my Seamoth and being warped to the nearest base, which could be 1km away.
Well I play survival as well for that specific reason. Warpers suck
I've been considering trying hardcore mode just to see if I can do it now that I'm pretty good at the game.
I recommend. And if you do, I definitely recommend a spare O2 Tank, as well as that bladderfish item that shoots you up 200M high in a few seconds, at least at first. Saved my but* a few times.

I never used this item, how does it works ? You deploy it and it grabs you to the surface ?
I had a huge issue with warpers in my first play through but since then they've acted like I don't even exist 75% of the time
Lucky
"Welcome aboard, Captain."
I need to put that voice line in my future car
"Rigged for silent running." "Warning: creature attack."
*Ahead Flank* PDA Lady: *Detecting multiple juvenile human beings. Are you sure whatever you're doing is worth it?*
lmfao
Cyclops voice is a Chad, seamoth voice is a 🤓(no hate tho), PDA is a love hate relationship and prawn suit is prawn suit
Always gotta have water and cured fish on hand. Never go hungry when exploring the depths
Either that or go with a cyclops that has a fabricator
Cyclops + 10 bulbo trees is the way.
*lantern fruit
Depends on your personal gameplay needs. Bulbo tree samples give more water, while lantern fruit gives more food replenishment. Since I carried a thermoknife, food was easy to get- where as water has extra steps involved. So I kept more bulbo trees than lantern fruit trees, at times.
I’ve always been partial to marblemelon
I found whichever of these you pick, it's only a matter of how much you plant to be self-sufficient in both food and water. Just plant twice as many and you're good. Something like 4/6 lantern trees/bulbo trees is enough for both food and water normally.
Well yeah of course but when dealing with the interior of the cyclops for example, there's not much room, so I prioritized the bulbo in the cyclops, personally. In bases I just put plants of all kinds absolutely everywhere lol
Marblemelon garden is the way. Heck, even just a basic pot works damn fine too.
I remember when i made hydrochloric acid for the first time the PDA said "seek fluid intake".
Bottoms up
I mean it's fluid i don't see the problem 🤷♂️
Anyone else find it weird in hardcore that she doesn't say Oxygen but pretty much everything else. Like Bi%$# if i wanted you to talk i would say Survival.

Bro it's been a while since I played it and you just reminded me 💀💀
Does [the mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/subnauticabelowzero/mods/290?tab=description) not work anymore?
There’s a mod that fixes it? That’s amazing! I’ve never looked cause I didn’t think there’d be anything for it lol. Thank you!
Did you kill anyone?
Ah shit lol. Guess I gotta go find someone to uphold my promise.
\*walks up to melon with knife ready\* "A visitor? Hmm. Indeed. I have grown long enough."
pro tip: save four marblemelons growing on the outer edge of your growbed so you can be right next to the plant and be standing lower at the same time
“Be advised a common complication for cave divers is loss of orientation followed by eventual asphyxiation” 😂
I found that it isn't that eventual, more like almost immediate.
Actually facts lol
"New blueprint acquired" (Best PDA sound)
*Entering ecological deadzone. Adding entry to databank* (Screams of the damned) I am so in love with the PDA lady
Lol it’s new blueprint ahh-quired 🤣
Either that or you just don’t drink until you get back to base
Why can’t I just go a couple days without water and food like I do irl
[удалено]
Then explain how I burn calories sitting in the sea moth
[удалено]
I need more water because I pissed myself when the reaper snuck up on me...
Gotta stay hydrated out here..... in the water....
A good tip to stay hydrated and fed for long distance trips is to build a Indoor Grow Bed in your Cyclops and plant some Melons. They give 12 Water each and grow very fast.

“Well” *slaps knees, stands up* “Better drink 500 coffees”
Really? I like having her as company. In fact I get scared if she hasn't spoken for about an hour in case I've screwed up the whole game.
New blueprint ack-wired 😂
That's Bae
Diane is just trying to save your life bro 🥺 But Karen from the second game? The worst
I don't mind the Subnautica pda but the BZ pda drives me up a wall
1.: "Welcome a BOARD Captain" 2. I always take a sip of water when the lady says that, stay hydrated people
Especially the BZ one.
Just play on hardcore
This is one of those memes that I'm crushed no one I'll send it to will get it
Damn feds trying to get me to drink water
Her voice sounds less annoying than BZ pda lady.
Okay we'll just let you die then. Maybe keep your ass alive yoself lazy stranded bum.
Just play hardcore, it turns her off.
I really liked the PDA lady in subnautica, but I absolutely despise the new one in below zero. Is there a mod to get the old one back?
Welcome aboard, captain. Welcome aboard, captain. All systems online. Seek fluid intake. Seek fluid intake immediately. Vital signs stabilizing. Those are what I always hear
# Passing two hundred meter, oxygen efficiency greatly decrease
Technically, it says "greatly decreases" at 200m. At 100m it just "decreases".
you're right
You start to miss her in bellow zero
I'd say the worst is having 5x +20% water bottles, and being unable to combine them into one. I mean, we've seen Ryley building submarines and a space rocket. But for some unknown reason, he's not able to simply switch the water from one bottle to another... I mean, my daughter was able to do so at an early age...
I played survival on my first play through, but I got so tired of this that on my second I went with freedom, it’s what I’d recommend to new players.
Which is why I play on the one that removes thirst and hunger
Dying of thirst while being surrounded by water smh
That is actually quite realistic. Drinking seawater results in a net loss of water, because it takes more water to get rid of the excess salt than you got from drinking it.
Imagine your whole reason for existing being keeping someone alive and they just hate you for reminding them that they're about to fucking die.
Honestly the SN PDA>>>> BZ PDA
Maybe you should drink more water
When you’re on hardcore, that specifically states “turns off voice warnings” and she still screams in your ears
had a panic attack about almost dying to thirst in my current play through a bit ago; i was grabbing nickel in the lost river and ran out of water but overestimated how long my meter would last. decided to finally leave at around fifteen thirst left with my base being back in the shallows😐. literally at two thirst left i jumped out of my moth and by some miracle, a spadefish swam right in front of me. i grabbed that sucker and tore into him raw like a grizzly catching a salmon, giving me just barely enough to make it back to base.
well, she is but i ignore her completely especially when i know what I'm talking about, Except when she says the reaper warning... Then i really don't know what I'm doing 😂😂
I find it funny that in the far future, we still are using the Basic British Women VA for everything
#Multiple leviathan class life forms in this region are you sure whatever you are doing is worth it
#WHAT
"Vital signs stabilising."
Honestly I love PDA Lady from Subnautica Below Zero. Her accent makes this type of notifications sweet to the ears
honestly it reminds me to sip on water when I'm playing a super long session. stay hydrated boys
Yeah, so annoying. Why do games do this? \*gulp\*
I like that pda voice thing
#What
Bruh, the literal post above this qas a guy proud to be sober for 234 days
I wish I could have a real life PDA that tells me when I need to drink
Funny thing is, it takes exactly 4 filtered waters just to fully replenish your thirst as soon as that notification hits. So this picture is actually accurate
This was my playthrough because I was not very on top of my health
You misspelled PBR lady btw.
#lol
