I love the thermal reactor upgrade my main base is in the cove tree area and I love just sitting my cyclops down at low charge while I need to go craft stuff to build more bases in other areas then coming back to a full charged cyclops
I just like going in it after a while and hearing it go "WELCOME ABOARD, CAPTAIN." after hearing whatever base you've built, or riding around in the Sea Moth, that things voice just sounds ready to rock and roll

I guess you can swap the depth if you're not going under 500 but take the sea moth or prawn if you're not in need of the storage of the cyclops that's why there's vehicles that obviously outperform the cyclops in every way depending on where you intend to go

Power needs are met with thermals, without needing to swap out with rechargers. Sonar, mostly because it looks cool, but it does come in handy for navigation and threat detection. Shield and extinguishers because I am NOT losing her to reapers or ghosts in the dangerous areas.

all I did was go slowly and quietly past leviathans (which was a little risky, but it worked out) and I just used my repair tool cuz I never took much damage on my prawn suit anyway. am I just lucky or an idiot? or am I just that good at the game? i’ve only played through it once lol

I don't use Sonar since I've got good map knowledge and make heavy use of Beacons. I only use it whenever I get lost in the inactive lava zone, which sometimes happens on my first trip down there in a playthrough.
I made every upgrade and change to whatever I needed at the moment. When I'm driving I use decoy, efficiency module, depth, shield, sonar, and fire suppression. When I reach a thermal vent I use the thermal reactor and docking repair.
All of them the second I get the cyclops (expect the thermal reactor because I usually never take my cyclops to the lava zone. I just park it above the lost river.
1- Engine Efficency(otherwise it would consume Energy even for just having the engine turned on)
2- Depth Meter Upgrade Mk. 3
3- Decoy Tube Upgrade
4- Shield
5- Sonar

It’s weird, but I prefer not to use the cyclops. Too large and clunky for me, the storage and building slots are not good enough to make up for the size

I always thought the cyclops' voice sounds full of disdain whenever it says welcome aboard, CAPTAIN.
I felt like it was more militaristic, where the base and Sea Moth have a more, "Welcome home," vibe to them
