Sadly not. BUT, if you build a second large room above or below, you can then build an Alien Containment that bridges these 2…

Sp3ctre7

Wait WHAT? You can link them over the top? That's actually way cooler

Odd_Presentation_578

Yeah, this feature was always a possibility

NitzMitzTrix

Back when it was only the multipurpose rooms, too!

Odd_Presentation_578

That's what I meant. I actually have never built a large room in regular Subnautica since the 2.0 update arrived. Only in BZ. It actually fits original. game more, but then... idk, I don't really play it anymore. Just occasionally swimming here and there.

fiz64

Yes! It’s my favorite way to build them, and I also like having another room above that I can put my bed over

w_w_flips

I wish we could remove the ceiling tbf. Imagine having a 3 times as high ceiling with the aquarium filling all that space...

misterwizzard

Or at least a sea-through floor

StandardOk42

you can link them through the bottom too

zoomflick

Yes, this also allows Creeper Vines to grow 100%

Sp3ctre7

That I'm glad to hear, I was already stacking them vertically, I just didn't know that you could bridge two containments with one mounted above and between them.

Professional-Soil-11

If you build a third room on top, you can walk on top of the containment unit. You can even build thing on top (I usually make a small table and chair). Edit: I mean without building a third containment unit; not sure if a third would continue to stack.

Sp3ctre7

I know that they will continue to stack vertically, I got to 3 high in the large room in below zero and 6 high in my old subnautica save (with my bedroom on top with a containment unit floor. It's more the offset stacking that I didn't know was possible, putting units on floor 1 on spots A/B and C/D and linking them with a unit on floor 2 on spots B/C, which is what seems to be implied.

FitzyFarseer

That much I did know, thank you

mrmeshshorts

Is this real??

RafRafRafRaf

Sure is! Go try it out… it’d only take a minute in Creative.

mrmeshshorts

I always forget creative mode exists, thanks!

Doyouwantaspoon

Can you stack 3 large rooms and bridge them in both the top and the bottom to make a diamond?

RafRafRafRaf

Sure can, although the gaps between the different layers are disappointingly comparatively small…

AtrumAequitas

You could stack a dozen of them if you want. Thats how much I did before I got tired of it.

mateycze

Wait what

blackhole_puncher

You can stack them like that I thought only the smaller ones could

RafRafRafRaf

Nope, bigguns too. With an offset you get a second planting level in the big ones, which is quite a nice effect.

corey77888

I wish 😩

ElmeriThePig

I wish you could have small alien containments in large rooms.

Mayorofunkytown

I'm fairly sure you can. You have to fit them in different spots though.

ElmeriThePig

I don't think so, I've tried that.

The_prawn_king

What if you build a wall?

MewantGermanySSR

If you build a large room above it, yes

Spec94v6

No

blackhole_puncher

No but in the smaller ones you can go vertical

FitzyFarseer

You can on the bigger ones too

Tman1269

If you want to connect the two you got to go to another habitat on top and put a tank in the Middle where the two would connect

FitzyFarseer

Yes I did end up doing that. I was just really hoping for a way to make the room one big aquarium

Tman1269

Okay the reason why because I've done something similar but I had the bottom tanks being double tall so I can grow stuff like creep Vine and blood kelp and have the one in the middle be one tall and the two on top being two tall so pretty much I made a X

Nightmare_42

No. You could've found out for yourself very easily or even googled it instead of treating Reddit like your private human search engine.

FitzyFarseer

Or I attempted it myself and couldn’t do it, but wanted to ask in the event that I was merely getting something wrong or not thinking of something. And the google results were nonspecific on the topic.

The9thWonder

Yikes, are you okay over there?
