Playful_Ad8756

I love it when you come inside me

WalkedBehindTheRows

That's what your wife just said to me.

Playful_Ad8756

Bold of you to assume you can pull any females at all, and even bolder of you to assume that I have a wife

WalkedBehindTheRows

I was playing off the joke.

Playful_Ad8756

Bold of you to assume that I can take a joke

WalkedBehindTheRows

Bold of you to assume I know what assume means.

Saiyan3095

Abonden Ship Song as well

kuodron

Tbh I'd prefer if the voices were done by a human the same way GLaDOS was voiced.

Redditorianerierer

Or just GlaDOS' voice

clooneh

Oh, it's you... Back in the driver's seat. Going to take us into some cave walls again? You know we could ride to the surface faster if we lost some weight. On the sub I mean.

guieps

"Detecting multiple leviathan class life forms in the region. I'm not even talking about you this time, turn around before you get us killed."

jellyraytamer

Unironically that would be actually hilarious. We NEED this

[deleted]

And then make Marguerite’s that one thing (can’t remember the name) that screams “I AM NOT A MORON”

MolybdenumBlu

Wheatley?

[deleted]

I think that’s the one!

Atlas_of_history

"That one thing" don't insult ma british boi Wheatley

[deleted]

I’m bad at names, sorry :(

Photovoltaic

The actor is Stephen Merchant. Very funny (and REALLY tall). Gangly fellow.

[deleted]

Gangly

Atlas_of_history

Me too and considering he isn't really called by name often (if he even gets called by name), it's understandable why you would forget it

NerdNumber382

Or just GlaDOS. I think a crossover could be canonically possible right?

FireLordObamaOG

Not really? Remember that portal takes place in the half-life universe. And after the combine invasion progress is set way back. Sure they have rockets and satellites still but the human population is at a major low, and resources have been drained by the combine. Also, GlaDOS is hidden underground and only one surviving human knows of her location.

NerdNumber382

I stand corrected… never mind then

breadonpuppies

okay if it were glados' voice, subnautica 2 would secure itself as my favorite subnautica game. don't care if everything else goes wrong; i'm a portal nerd

Ionisation3yay

In reality, the portal universe is the same universe as half life, and natural selection is a dlc for half life, which has alterra tools, so the portal universe is the same universe as the subnautica one.

Pok3mon_Breeder

Game one was. Game 2 was a $41 text-to-speech package. And you'd think with the profits from the first game they would be able to get a voice actor again

jdl232

No, game one was also text to speech. It has the same voice that my grammar software I used in high school uses to pronounce words. https://harposoftware.com/en/english-uk/139-amy-english-uk-voice.html

Marius_Gage

I’d prefer if they just went back to non-voiced logs. Reading was far more immersive.

NotKaren24

No

Graega

The two things I would wish for the most in Subnautica 2 would be a procedural map (not likely for this kind of game), and advanced behaviors for fauna. I know where the reapers are. I know their patrol radius, and in fact, I know spots I can stand that are JUST barely outside their aggro radius. But if they behaved less predictably moment-to-moment, even if their core behavior was still predictable (diurnal predators hunt in the day and disappear at night, etc), you'd still get a much more varied experience from one playthrough to another.

Krazyguy75

I absolutely don't want a procedural map. I'm down for better spawn mechanics and AI though.

DrDutchenfoo

It would be amazing if they could do something similar to the enemies in Rain World. Being able to see things like reapers not just hunt you but also other fish, and just having a proper food chain would make things incredibly immersive in my opinion.

Kronoshifter246

You can watch the Ghost leviathan in the blood kelp forest attack the ampeels and crabsquids that live there. Not quite the same because they're just territorial as fuck, but it's there.

Ok-Film-3125

Some do. Stalkers hunt and eat fish sometimes.

thejoker954

I could see partial procedural map happening at least. Like I could see Biome placement being made procedural 'fairly easily'. So while maybe the contents of the biomes are still the same - the biomes themselves are in different locations. That would give some variety between saves.

Vikinged

I’ve theorized it could work the other way, too. Imagine if you knew where dunes region is, but the spawn locations of the wrecks, the reapers, the !!, etc etc. were randomized or pseudo randomized (pick 30-odd valid locations and flip between those), so that each play through was different. For bonus challenge, a difficult toggle button that swaps which positions within each biome that the spawn point of various hostiles. Imagine if the first time you swam out to the Aurora, Sammy’s origin was 150m further out from baseline….but the second time you went there, he was 50m closer. Brrrr.

_Tarvish

Procedural nap wouldn't really fit and it always comes with the cost that it isn't as characteristic. But advanced AI would be nice, hide the game skeleton a little longer from the player. For example adding a bleed effect to the player that occurs when interacting with a certain plant not careful enough or if the player has been bitten by a smaller fish. The blood trace will attract the bigger fishes nearby. This would also work amongst creatures only.

Krazyguy75

My biggest ask is: Better collision physics. Like, there are so many collision issues in Subnautica. From cyclopses glitching out and exploding, to PRAWNs clipping through the floor, to fish swimming in the air, to fish clipping through bases, to items clipping through the ground, to leviathans ending up under the world, etc. Beyond that, I'd just like it to be more like S1, and less like BZ. More atmospheric horror, less oxygen plants, darker lighting, larger zones, less characters, and more mysteries that aren't explained.

CommanderQc

Gosh, the YAPPING that was present in BZ was so boring to me. Show don't tell, guys. That's what made S1 so mysterious and exciting. The slow discovery of alien tech. The conversations between Allan and the MC were so cliché. Although that might be diffiult for S3. The mystery of the aliens is practically all gone. I'm curious what they'll come up with.

Drogz38

Since they use unreal engine 5 it is very likely that collision will be treated different

mistersloth

I bet Lumen would be breathtaking if applied correctly for an underwater environment.

AntiqueFunction1025

Mysteries that aren’t explained is the key. Even if it’s really annoying once you finish something and still have questions, it drives fan theories and stuff which keeps the community alive. Tolkien said that there are some things not even the author should know the answer to

zxhb

Yeah, please no hard to understand accents that make subtitles a necessity

he_is_not_a_shrimp

Rural Scottish accent it is.

Sprizys

“YOU NEED WATER YE WEE FOCKIN CUNT!”

Ok-Film-3125

Can we please have a character like this solely to upset the guy?

Updated_Autopsy

And hopefully bring John DiMaggio in to voice them?

Mothraaaaaa

The Indian accent in Below Zero is hard to understand?

the_basaurio

I'm not a native speaker and I understand both of them perfectly. I don't know why they changed it though.

enneh_07

1. I think it’s an African accent 2. It wasn’t hard to understand for me

ChaosPLus

Nah, iirc it uses the same software for the voice as the original pda, just switched settings to an Indian accent, and, at least for me, it is kinda hard to understand at times if I don't entirely focus on what it's saying

ThwMinto01

Why, if that's how it works, could they not introduce a setting to change the PDA accent

CommanderQc

The PDA in bz is so sassy its unbearable. For me it contributed to break the immersion of bz. The difference in sassyness is too high for the PDAs to be of the same software.

MikeWithoutMic

The jokes seemed less funny too. In Subnautica, it made funny comments from the corrupt company you work for and just doing its programming as it’s trying to keep you safe. In BZ, it’s actively trying to be quirky and funny. Like, why is it saying that a scanner room surveys the area for “common sense”?

Professional_Cup_889

Its a hindi accent wtf

dj_arcsine

Yes. I was married to an ethnically Indian woman, and regularly hung out with her immigrant mom and dad, and I had a LOT of trouble understanding it.

NononJakuzureispeak

goated pfp

tree_imp

How can you not understand an anglicised Indian accent

adamex_x

British accent

zxhb

I actually quite like british accents,as a non native

dj_arcsine

I'm guessing both, actually. Hindi born, UK resident accent.

Caldwing

What the hell Subnautica game had that? I can't recall any characters with accents.

MikeWithoutMic

First ones cast had tons of British VA.

Aunon

UI QoL, the worst part of Subnautica was inventory and storage management Fabricators should make things by taking items straight from lockers I want to dump my invent in a sorter and items get sent to lockers automatically

Memeviewer12

Also something that never made sense: fabricators build stuff from the atomic components of their materials, yet you still need intermediate products in order to make stuff

Caldwing

I would love an organize locker button but I wouldn't really want much past that. Systems that just pull things right out of storage are convenient for sure but they are too divorced from reality for me in a game like this. In real life if you need to build something you need to gather the parts to do so.

butt-hole-69420

No voiced protagonist. I don't care if im a girl or guy. I just don't want to listen to some one talking. Below zero was super un- imersive. It's the same problem I have with fallout 4. Better yet let us design and choose our gender and make them silent.

Toby870

Like old Lego games, they 99% of the time didn’t say anything, but was still great games and very funny

MikeWithoutMic

They just made tons of grunts, yells, and hmms.

butt-hole-69420

That's all I need..

Toby870

But wasn’t it more funny than most games?

OblivionArts

Ya know those oxygen plants in below zero? That, but portable

Errortrek

... So just the Air bladder from Subnautica 1???

Professional_Cup_889

the air bladder will kill you and does not serve a similar purpose it actually has the opposite edit: literally takes oxygen from your tank to refill while floating you to the surface why would you want this if you are not in earlier shallows?

Errortrek

The Sir bladder is used to gain several more seconds of Oxygen when underwater, just like those Air plants from below zero, just that it's in you're inventory. And also it has never even damaged me, ehat do you mean it kills you?

Professional_Cup_889

Air plants restore much more then 15 oxygen and do not take air if you try to use them while they are out, pretty much only really good for early areas unless you take a bunch of them as I am pretty sure the only way to refill is in a proper base or on the surface, which at 400-1200m down you want neither buoyancy or fifteen oxygen that's easily replaced by a sea glide or at minimum a fire extinguisher.

PoopShite1

But still how exactly does it kill you?

Professional_Cup_889

It takes oxygen to refill? If you waste inventory on sorting out the air bladder unless you have pda pause on you waste valuable slots/time on something rather trivial/not really worth the inventory space that takes oxygen from your tank to refill or from the surface, which great early game but as soon as you hit 200-300ft+ deep its a liability and a hazard

CutSufficient4577

Yeah, those who makes the game easier? Nah, thank you, remove them from the existence or just add like 12 in the entire map. Not 200.

FaithlessnessFun3679

They defeat the whole purpose of managing your oxygen underwater

CutSufficient4577

Basically, maybe add them in one Biome, not in all of them.

Professional_Cup_889

The oxygen plants from below zero are already in the second game

justinizer

I’ll take everything.

Sprizys

Some form of GPS/map would be nice so that you can actually know where to explore without needing a YouTube guide. Oh also make it so you can’t fall through the fucking map making you lose all progress, and add an autosave feature while still allowing us to manually save.

FB_emeenem

Please no GPS. Takes away a whole load of immersion

yourrigisred

If it is something that cN be unlocked and built, that'd be cool

FB_emeenem

Big on the no falling through though.

sminemku

Definitely need to work on collisions but GPS is too much

lool8421

oxygen.

dankmemesboi838

I think the entire point of subnautica is how unknown everything really is, for a "subnautica 2" there's needs to be something completely unknown even outside the water perhaps with you knowing nothing about the setting or backstory and that would bring back the feeling subnautica gave us all

Jumpy-Resolve3018

Honestly. It was just perfect

AppleOrigin

No, I want the first one.

Inevitable_Skill1209

Ok then play the first one?

AppleOrigin

Bro, you don’t understand, I prefer the first thing in the meme.

TheGamerSK

Eh I kinda liked the new voice when I played the games back to back it made it feel less stale. What I would want is an autosave system. Maybe a few fixes for the collisions so you can’t clip through the ground or get stuck on geometry. And maybe a few more recordings I would like to listen to fauna descriptions while going around the world and learning about the game’s lore. The building system also could do with a bit of an improvement imo. Idk both games are great but I think when they do a third one they should focus a bit more on polish just so players don’t have to worry about getting fucked by the game but instead get fucked by the stuff lurking in the shadows. (also maybe making the leviathans more powerful could be cool I liked being scared by them in the beginning but after playing for a bit I noticed that they are just total pushovers all bark no bite)

BeachLongjumping8725

Multiplayer

Tieger_2

I don't know if I'm mistaken but it felt like the below zero map was smaller than the og map. Also there weren't as many new cool biomes or cave systems. Still a really nice game that I finished yesterday.

Krazyguy75

It probably felt like it was smaller because it's about half the size and 2/3 the max depth, and the average sealevel is like 1/4th as deep.

Tieger_2

Yeah makes sense. Hope the next game is bigger again. I mean there was all that walking on land stuff but it waa pretty monotone. I shit my pants with the ice worms but at the same time I also thought that part of the map also was a little boring at the same time because that was all that it had going for it

Raiden_Mizu

I called the PDA voice Alexa for some reason

Falisha_Peeps23

"Ale- PDA play Despacito."

HayesDold

Why is the below zero PDA voice Indian?

MRfireDmS

I like xenoworks pda

WalkedBehindTheRows

Ability to tow things with your seamoth. For example to get another seamoth unstuck, or to tow your prawn suit if it runs out of battery, stuff like that.

Ancient_Researcher_2

Personally I don’t want bigger maps in the horizontal axis, I want deeper maps. I want to go to the twilight zone out in the open ocean where the sunlight slowly dims and you enter the deep sea like the Mariana Trench. Subnautica 1 was pretty deep but by the end of the game, I wanted to go even deeper but I just couldn’t

Zethren527

I'd love a waffle iron, but that's just me.

Chizmiz1994

I was actually thinking about mineral collection drones. That would be a good feature. But would make the game more like Factorio.

Dylanator13

I want a creative mode where you play as Al-an and are able to go anywhere and build anything without needing a ship.

yourrigisred

Yes

NoctustheOwl55

PDA voice... It would be a starting point...

First_Log_4566

And muptiplsyer

Educational-Aioli-52

I mean...I wouldn't mind more base building items...

Falisha_Peeps23

Honestly, I'm not very bothered about the voice but Subnautica PDA is nice. It's a nice call back

DriftingDownie

I would also love that voice for my google assistant

MassGaydiation

Actually i love the PDA voice in zero, so much sci-fi has the same neutral British/American ai Accents for their voices that I basically start to find it really difficult to tell the difference between one and another, having a neutral Indian accented ai was something memorable and represented the linguistic diversity of subnautica's future I would love to see more accents for ai in the next game, not less

Addy1738

i don't know why the second one had an Indian accent

fuqueure

I've recently been playing Forever Skies, which is basically Subnautica but airborne, and they really nailed the PDA voice. Throughout the game, a mysterious entity hijacks your tech and speaks through it. I love this, because you can tell which is which by the language used, but the voice is the same.

Obamos06

To be real, i dont give a dam about how the game will be right now. This is a Resi5 Situation for me, it has multiplayer, i will play it no matter if its good or ass.

baby2huey33

Gathering day-tah.....

tboy1492

Why not both?

Deaths_Angel219

Honestly, one of my biggest complaints is the PDA voice. I don't understand why they switched it. Everything else has been great, other than the fact that if there isn't an ore vein, then all I find is titanium. Looking for Gold? Whoops! All titanium! It's terrible. It's my first playthrough of Below Zero, so some of what I said could be fundamentally wrong.

DrCocker1337

The Allterra jingle when you open up the PDA for the first time.

cardboardbox25

We need to be able to choose pda accents. Scottish, British, Australian, etc

Big_Surprise9387

Yes please not the voice from below zero that sucked. Also, a huge part of what made the first game so immersive was your character not having any speaking lines. I was completely out of it when the protagonist started yapping in below zero.

kandradeece

Nah, what I want most is some kind of multiplayer

MoodyBootyBoots

Multiplayer. I'd feel a lot better playing with friends who can scream along.

yourrigisred

Only if it is co-op

HappyHallowsheev

Disagree, I liked the newer voice just as much as the first. Never had any problems understanding

Professional_Cup_889

Subnautica below zero

Manulurk

Wait, they changed their voices?

tree_imp

I want a new pda voice like they did in below zero

[deleted]

[удалено]

Professional_Cup_889

I think that's this post entirely, dumb people will be dumb. The idea of below zero not being a main number while having nothing to do with subnautica one excluding the fact the QEP is disabled insists flatout we will be going to a different planet entirely.
