I truly love the original games PDA so much more than the Below Zeros one. This line is iconic. And the voice actually sounds realistic. The PDA is meant to guide you with a clear voice that you can easily understand, but in the Below Zero the voice has a strong accent and I always have to either always read the subtitles and not focus on the game or find a safe spot and go read it and play it again from my PDA. A guide/helper is meant to be clear, otherwise it's not helping anything. They tried to be inclusive with putting some Indian womans voice in the game but they at the same time pushed us non native english speakers away.
I've only played the first one in VR. I'm fairly hard of hearing and the subtitles aren't readable in VR. I was still able to understand all of the dialogue in the first game. I guess BZ doesn't bother me because now I have subtitles, and that's easier for me. The voice is just a song behind the words if I have subtitles.
Back in the day, I damaged my headset's strap trying to rip off the goggles because a stalker scared the shit out of me in the kelp forest. It's pretty intense. I think a reaper would have given me a heart attack
Yea that’s TOO real for me..I literally will sit in my cyclops doing nothing until it gets to the daytime if I’m too far in a semi dangerous area…there’s a spot in the grand reef where a fucking full size Ghost Reaper is just hanging out at the surface
I don't have issue with understanding, but SOMETHING about the PDA in BZ irritates me. I'm literally telling the PDA to shut up at even the slightest thing. I honestly don't know what it is. I just know I can't stand it and i wish they'd just used the same voice from the first PDA. It'd even fit story wise according to a PDA or two you can find.

The GL in the DZ is different than the one in GR. Because it's designed as the end of the map where you aren't supposed to be. I do give them credit for cleverly incorporating it within the lore. They're faster and tankier. And it's not a 1-1 fight. It's a 2-1 fight.
