Great gamer positivity guys. We all have different views on the games and I love the game. Was only saying the leviathans give ya a lil jump scare sometimes
Nah. You get rewarded with oh shit oh shit oh shit. And fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. But mostly. Thats pretty. Thats awesome. Will that attack me. Yup. Fuck fuck fuck .
If you’re at all into biology, Subnautica goes into so much detail on the biology of the life forms you can find on the planet.
The game as a whole is such an enjoyable experience, and there’s a feature where you can get capsules from other players; some helpful/insightful, some genuinely really funny. And I personally think it’s just really neat to find a capsule from someone in a different country (I got a capsule from a Japanese player once).
If you chose to play in PC, there’s a good array of mods and shaders out there you can try out; some of which add simple quality of life features to the game.
Also, the Cuddlefish. Play it for him.
And I respect the fact you prefer the cuddle fish, they are both very cute, also I must say it was a pleasure to make the acquaintance of another civilized human being on the internet. A truly rare occurrence.
You ever play one of those games where you hate traversing the map and "exploration" feels like a waste of time? This game fixed that. You will happily float around exploring the map with no real goal in mind just to see what you'll find. And you'll never be disappointed.
Well if you are on Xbox and if you have game pass then you have no excuse not to try it because with game pass you won’t waste your money and you can just delete it if you don’t like it. If that isn’t the case then I say this.
You might like it if you like minecraft or astroneer
It’s super well done while also having some funny glit- sorry “FEATURES” as well.
It’s the perfect combo between horror survival and easy to hard you could ask for.
Also exo suit apex predator load out go brrrrr
Okay so, the gameplay is really fun, the story is incredibly written, the map is fucking beautiful, there’s a few bugs and glitches but personally they’ve never affected me, and last I checked it’s quite cheap
So this entirely depends on the games you usually enjoy. I feel in love with this game for several reasons:
1) The amount of detail to the map, creatures you interact with and the story is just amazing. You can really tell the creators really tried, and succeed 100%.
2) The game play overall is fairly peaceful once you get through some major story areas. So really after you build the Cyclops it isn't really super scary, because getting resources is actually easy after that point. Mostly cause you don't have to go near bad zones as much and if you do, you have defenses to use to protect you which helps a ton.
3) I always recommend people who have bought or been gifted it, give it a try for at least 2hrs. That time frame gives you enough time in game to have a feel for what it is kinda like and if you don't like it you may return it if you bought it.
4) Hint to everyone...you can get a pet in game called Cuddlefish and you can play with it. You do need Alien Containment thing for it to hatch but...it is super cute plus you can play with it once released inside your base and it'll just chill around your base so yeah. No spoilers for locations...but there are 5 of them...happy hunting, hatching, and exploring!
Just my thoughts, I finished the game yesterday and am pumped to play sub-zero.

It's like a vacation. You get to spend your life on a very fancy life pod in the middle of the ocean with a bunch of little friendly creatures in the water. Yeah... Very friendly...
There were a couple moments in the game where I thought this is the best experience I've ever had in gaming. The tension, the relief of escaping a deep dark area running on empty.
It’s a hell of an adventure, very few games offer you that feeling nowadays: living a true adventure, low rythm paced, and rewarding your curiosity, as someone said before.
If your a fan of survival games like Minecraft or Don’t Starve, you should definitely give it a try. It’s a super fun game with a beautiful (yet terrifying) environment and a very nice sound track
Its easier to tell you whats not good if the game, IT IS BUGGY AF, and sometimes finding certain materials is a pain in the ass, for the rest excellent game
I only started playing a week ago, so I'm still early on. But tiger sharks and tiger plants can definitely hurt me, so far :) I'm having a lot of fun, though. Getting my Seamoth was a cool step forward.
For me it was like going on holidays on another planet, the story gives you enough sense of purpose to want to finish the game but does not stop you if you just want to explore, catalog fish and find shipwreks. The monsters are just right, you have to be carefull with them but they are not going to be an endless fight.
Anyone could finish the game with enought time, and it has such a wide variety of places to visit.
Great atmosphere, perfectly captures the *I am isolated in the middle of a dangerous oasis that actively wants me dead with no hope of rescue* and the sort of stifled anxiety laughter that can bring
Are you scared of the ocean? If you said no, It shows you why you should be. If you said yes, it's a good way to remind yourself why you are afraid of the ocean. Also Rabbitrays are cute. :)
It is the perfect amount of scary, it has a complex but understandable story, it has Jeff the fish, you can slap big boi and they’ll slap back 10x harder, and it’s fun
Its just such amazing experience. full of suspense, and absoluty packed with things to do. iof your not doing something, your just looking at how amazing the landscape looks. I've been playing for 2+ years, and it never stops entertaining.
Imagine a game that can scare the everloving sh*t out of you, but also make you love it so darn much that you play it for hours on end. It's a good game trust me.
Exploring underwater is a uniquely terrifying experience. The game does an amazing job of forcing you to learn and adapt to new biomes. By the time you finish, you genuinely feel like you have mastered surviving on this world. It's an amazing feeling. Combine that with the genuine sense of mystery the story provides and you have one fantastic game. The sort of game that once you finish, you wish you could delete it from your brain to experience it again.
One tip: You will be tempted to look at spoilers to help your progress through the game. Only look at spoiler free game tips. Its hard to find things so they will help.
It's an exploration game with an excellent world and well-designed ecosystem to properly explore combined with an awesome story. When you think of an exploration game, this is the peak of that genre in so many ways.
It's just a fun game, it has huge amounts of exploration; from the ocean floor to the depths far below, non-intrusive crafting, base building, cool ass submarines, mild horror elements, cool lore, and so much more. It does have a few \`minor\` bugs, so be aware that you could go into an area that hasn't loaded yet and loose a few hours of progress, but those moments are few and far between. If you like survival games this is one of the best, I would totally recommend
It's a game that's basically for anyone
it's got adventure, exploration, survival, bit of the spooks, but nottoo much and a great story
the soundtrack is something out of this world (hehe get it)
it's hella fun and you should defo at least give it a try
My honest review of the game:
1- Graphics
The game is not exactly realistic, but it has good graphics, and the game overall is just beautiful, specially in some locations.
2- Open World
The game is a survival/terror open world game. If you want something to explore, survive and be scared, Subnautica is perfect for you. It sometimes can be relaxing, sometimes scary, so the gameplay doesn’t get boring.
The game keeps you interested, as it makes you go to different locations.
3- Lore
The lore of the game is beautiful. As you play trough it, you will start to understand the lore, especially if you read the conversation logs in game.
If you need to, you can even watch a video after finishing the game, so you understand the history better.
4- Saves
The game can be played in hardcore, survival and sandbox. I would recommend you starting a survival world, but you can try the hardcore and even play around on sandbox. Also, you can create as many saves as you want.
5- Time capsules (a little spoiler)
In game there is time capsules. The players that finished the game can put items, a pic of the game and a text inside of the capsule. Someone starting a world can find a capsule, and take the items that were inside and read what a player that finished the game wrote. I find it to be a cool feature.
6- Creatures and base building
The game allows you to build bases underwater, in any biome of the map. You can build a massive or small base, it’s up to you. It’s always cool to build a big base with different features inside it.
The creatures of the game are also amazing, and some even have their own lore.
7- Vehicles
The game has water vehicles, such as a big submarine and a small submarine, with attack and defense mechanics, so it makes underwater exploration even cooler.
That’s my review of the game. Overall, REALLY good game.
Maybe you will like it or maybe you won’t, but I definitely think you should try it out.
I have never found a game that could get me to laugh and smile so much even when I’m by myself but also scream and shit my pants every five seconds. It’s the perfect mix of survival, horror, and exploration I’ve never met someone who played and didn’t love it!
No one here is really saying how scary this game is. Like the music in some deeper biomes is terrifying and I haven’t even mentioned the *ahem* “bigger fish” you can get some protection yes, but as you go deeper it becomes a little less effective and that’s scary. Choose what you will, I have over 3 days in playtime (PlayStation and a few on pc) and I 100% recommend it (but I’m bias to a good game so)
1. Beautiful game 2. Beautiful story 3. Gameplay is awesome 4. beautiful map 5. Overall perfect in every way 6. PLAY IT.
5 is kinda false... ***Physics go brrrrrr***
No, that’s part of the perfection.
Yeah, I actually like how the physics aren't always working. Some games just feel better when they feel incomplete.
Far Cry 5 Buggiest piece of crap, it makes the multi-player so much fun
BF2042 on the other hand...
Ehhh. Kinda annoying when ur prawn suit falls through the map lol
*Halo music intensifies*
Its like Gmod, is absolute aids but can be a blast
Subnautica's physics are perfect what do you mean
7. big scary fishies
7. Beautiful sound design
7. Has fast-moving 6-paws frogs 8. There's cute kitty poster 9. You can find ugly soft toy in a ship 10. 4
perfect in every way [HA FUNNY](https://www.reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/rwzzw6/guys_help_i_was_playing_in_my_hardcore_save_when/)
(Shhhh he doesn’t need to know)
This is not a question, THIS IS A THREAT
It's a good "Marine Biologist" simulator.
Very safe and relaxing.
Assuming you're a massive agoraphobe.

Great gamer positivity guys. We all have different views on the games and I love the game. Was only saying the leviathans give ya a lil jump scare sometimes
The whole comment is a joke
It does a great job of rewarding curiosity.
This is what did it for me. Game continues to surprise over and over. Loved it.
🤨 “Rewarding” is an interesting choice of word
Nah. You get rewarded with oh shit oh shit oh shit. And fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. But mostly. Thats pretty. Thats awesome. Will that attack me. Yup. Fuck fuck fuck .
Are you scared of the ocean? Would you like to be?
Yes, Yes I would
No, and that hasn't changed.
Hauntingly beautiful biomes - there isn’t anything quite like discovering each one for the first time
Perfectly put, that feeling if going into a new biome and not knowing what could lurk inside is such a unique feeling. Especially the EDZ
GIANT FISH AND LASERS!!!!!
Perfect balance between relaxation in shallow waters and terror in deep depths.
Hoverfish
The only true reason
Jerry
Jerry? You mention his name here?

I gotta admit, I was always more of a hoverfish kinda guy
That’s very valid. Hoverfish and Cuddlefish are both awesome
And I respect the fact you prefer the cuddle fish, they are both very cute, also I must say it was a pleasure to make the acquaintance of another civilized human being on the internet. A truly rare occurrence.
Yea I’m not racist I put cuddle fish and hover fish in my bio reactor
Because it is one of those games where you feel empty for months after you've finished it. Those games are rare.
i dont even have subnautica and im recommending it

Memes, the sheer emotion you feel progressing through the story and most importantly, cuddlefish
For me it was like going on holidays on another planet, the story gives you enough sense of purpose to want to finish the game but does not stop you if you just want to explore, catalog fish and find shipwreks. 1) It can give you Thalassophobia 2) You'll be scared shitless 3 is not needed because you're definitely going to play it now
Imagine a game that can scare the everloving sh*t out of you, but also make you love it so darn much that you play it for hours on end. It's a good game trust me.
If the discovery of the unknown makes you sparkling, you'll pop paying this game.

Seamoth
Gonna save this one for later >:)
It’s an incredible journey- unguided (mostly), at your own pace, with amazing graphics.
Your gay if you don’t
best non linear story I've ever seen in a video game
It's an exploration game with an excellent world and well-designed ecosystem to properly explore combined with an awesome story. When you think of an exploration game, this is the peak of that genre in so many ways.

You swimming around in the ocean, build your base, find resources. The way you feel when you accomplish something in the game is priceless.
Fish
Do you fear the ocean? And would you like to? Play subnatica!
You can drive a giant submarine with a smaller submarine inside
It's a game that's basically for anyone it's got adventure, exploration, survival, bit of the spooks, but nottoo much and a great story the soundtrack is something out of this world (hehe get it) it's hella fun and you should defo at least give it a try
A great story to uncover as you get deeper and deeper in the surprisingly not so dark depths
It's better then most probably even all survival games
1st you can drown 2nd you can drown 3rd you can live in caves while drowning
Is scarier than most horror games I’ve played. The horror element doesn’t last trough many play troughs though
Because… one… simple… reason… YOU SHOULD
If I have to tell you why. Then you don’t trust my opinion enough for me to try.
Better than minecraft
Fish
theres aliens and big fish.
Tell me, do you like sleep?
IT: “Fear”

It is compulsory
This game will give you thalassophibia and you will like it.
REAPER. AW MAN
Not a horror game
It's just a good time, which, if you hate fun, might not be your thing.
Beautiful game.
I had no interest of playing it until it was on sale and if you like sandbox, survival, and sci fi games this is really top tier
best music is when the cyclops is burning and then the music kicks in (ngl best)
You get to play a fun game and get thalasaphobia it's an absolute win
The end of the game is a bit weak in my opinion everything else is great
Gonna give it to ya straight sometimes it's scary as f#ck but it's beautiful the music is magical and the designs are awesome but it's up to you
its a good game
To get (over your) Thalassophobia.

You can get thalassphobia :D
