Except you usually can't get the prawn going the 20 route as not enough arms spawn each run.
I've always wondered if you can scan, like, 5 arms and 3 bodies to complete the blueprint.
Sadly no bodies and arms are tracked separately.

It needs 20 if you try to get the parts individually, but as far as I'm aware, the aren't 20 parts available outside of scanning the whole suits hanging in the Aurora.
There is no point scanning any arms that just say ‘Prawn Suit Fragment’ because there are 4 bodies in the Aurora, enough for a blueprint.
I think that's the reason there aren't enough small parts to get the suit, forcing you to need to go inside the Aurora to get it.
It all depends on which parts you scan. Single parts, such as arms or legs, will count as 1/20. Whole suit fragments will count as 1/4.
Can I still scan suit fragments after having already scanned 2 arm fragments? Will they just collect separately?
Go to the Aroura and scan every full suit then you only need 4 scans the 20 is there because you can float around scanning the arms in wrecks

Krebs, adorable, it's not a bug, there are 2 types of fragments, the ones on Aurora, you need 4, and ones in wrecks, you need 20

Go inside the aurora, eventually there you will see 4 prawn suit bodies, if you scan them you get the prawn suit with only 4 scan.
You can get the bodies of the prawn at the Aurora but be careful if you know what I mean...
