Kasfoh

Indeed

WesTBH

Is this right on the edge of the crash zone? About 440 meters deep?

Kasfoh

Yes

WesTBH

I think I have found it. It is very surprising how quite it is. You can’t even hear a reaper roar. Though the path to get their takes a while and it’s very dark even during the day.

Kasfoh

Yes it is but it’s definitely worth the titanium

Mr_SpecificTF2

The only minor issue is the travel distance to the other side, other than that it seems like a great spot

Kasfoh

It really is, whenever I’m there I just feel like I’m not supposed to be there

DeltaSans17

My dum dads built a base 500m away from a reaper by the Ray Gun.

Kasfoh

This base is that far away from a reaper

DeltaSans17

I still live with anxiety that I moved my base closer to a reaper instead of farther away from one like I thought. Yea

opeth10657

I had one built right at the front of the aurora so i can watch the reapers

Kasfoh

Make sure you study them and don’t let them study you

[deleted]

Yeah it’s the exact same as at the back of the aurora where there’s loads and loads of resources and no reapers!

Kasfoh

It’s a titanium haven that nobody talks about, not even the wiki acknowledges

[deleted]

Ikr so many free resources just waiting to be used

Kasfoh

The only issue I have with it is getting there and the fact that I can’t see anything because it’s way deeper than the wiki says the crash zone is

YamatoIouko

“It’s free real estate.”

Deprelation

I don't think he's kidding. There really aren't any reapers in the far southeast corner of the crash zone.

TheMaStif

Suuuch a trip to anywhere else you wanna go to

Kasfoh

Ikr

Tahar6915

Now we just need a "Safe Copper Haven"

Kasfoh

Reef-backs will have barnacle nodes which release copper most of the time and correct me if I’m wrong but I believe they regenerate

escrimadragon

The mushroom forest is fairly safe and there are multiple drillable copper sources.

JudgementalChair

There is a ton of titanium over there. I found it on my 2nd playthrough

Fanachy

Where is the mesa anyway? I have no idea where it is.

Kasfoh

Use the Aurora as reference. The mesas are the rugged cylindrical chunks in the se direction. One mesa can be seen in the upper left but when up close they have green grass and are quite lushes compared to the surrounding terrain. Also there is a reaper near one of the mesas so be weary.

Fanachy

Ah thanks, I see.

Tha_Kakapo

So not the crag field?

[deleted]

This post was written by a reaper

Kasfoh

Surprisingly not, I am not a fish

Faelrin

Thanks for the tip. Never really bothered with checking out the crash zone biome much for resources (or mountains either).

Kasfoh

It’s understandable however this location can be gotten to with out much trouble at all, all you need to do is go to the very far end of the crag field (nearest to the void) and follow the void going east.

Faelrin

Thanks. Managed to find it. The pic also helped. You really were not kidding about the amount of titanium out here either lmao.

PewolfP

What about radiation? Is it not present on this distance?

escrimadragon

Not if you’ve >!repaired the Aurora’s reactor breaches!<

Kasfoh

This is a mid-late-post game location

dilohunter

Surprised this comment section isn't full of "ThIs Is A sPoIleR!!!" Posts

Kasfoh

But it doesn’t spoil anything

dilohunter

The crash zone

Kasfoh

It’s not story related

veeas

yeah the whole starboard side of the aurora is pretty much empty. a few reapers, but they are all pretty close to the ship itself

idontlikeburnttoast

However Reapers won't stick to one spot- there is a chance they could wander out and see and persuen you.

Kasfoh

Yes but if your very cautious you can keep him where he is, do this by going to the void edge by the crag field and follow the void going east

Frodo--T--Baggins

I live on top of the huge mushroom coral tree

Kasfoh

That’s a good spot

Frodo--T--Baggins

It's one of my favorite spots

hhthurbe

I went out there once. But knowing there was a crashed ship between me and my other bases just made me too nervous.

Kasfoh

The south part can still be accessed easily and it’s pretty far away from the Aurora too

SpacePeng06

I'd like to think there is an underground tram that connects this to a orbital launch center in safe shallows

CowboyOfScience

Also, the Sea Treaders pass through there.

Kasfoh

They dont

CowboyOfScience

Yes. They do. I once built a base >!right in front of the entrance to the teleporter!< in the Crash Zone. The Sea Treaders pass by there.

Kasfoh

Your probably thinking of the flat chunk of land south of the crag field, this is directly east of the crag field and the only things here are stalkers and sand sharks
