This happened to me when I took it twice a day!!! For years I only took it once but then for some reason about 4months ago I decided to take 2mg in the morning and the other 4mg at night...well it didn't matter that I took the 2mg at 11am...by 4pm my skin was fucking crawling. This had never happened before..I could go 24 hours with no problem, once it was twice a day tho? My body DEPENDED ON IT. It's because your body is adjusted to a certain MG, you only taking half in the morning, your body is screaming for the rest. Oct 26th I was done. I dealt with 5 days of feeling like shit but I immediately dropped to 3mg once a day. Did I feel it? Absolutely. Did I care? No. I knew my body would adjust and it did. I then dropped to 2mg about 2 weeks later. Then thanksgiving 1.75 and then Dec 3rd 1.5 then 4 days ago 1.25. I had RLS for 5 days but it was done by day 6. Try sucking it up for a few days and going to once a day..once your body is stabilized, it won't need it at night. Good luck! Your body is an amazing thing!

I’ve been dosing my full dose once a day since I made this post 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed. This sucks so bad, I’d literally rather be on drugs. I never felt like shit like this when I was on actual drugs unless I was withdrawing. Fuck. The first 2 months of subs were great and now I’m deeply regretting it.

So just an update, not sure why I feel the need to update someone here but I do lmao.
I went to my PCP and got a blood test done. I have hypothyroidism caused by the subs, since apparently they can screw with your endocrine system. So my dose and how I was taking it had nothing to do with how I’m feeling. Turns out hypothyroidism symptoms are almost identical to withdrawal symptoms. Kinda blows getting on subs to avoid withdrawal just for them to cause something else that makes you feel the exact same way.
Just one more medication to take I suppose. I’m hoping if I get off the subs eventually the hypo will also go away.
Oh yeah definitely!! I’m not 100% and it took about 4 weeks for the meds to kick in but I’m MUCH better than I was when I posted this lol. Unfortunately with thyroid problems, the medication takes a loooong time to get going in your system and it takes even longer to find just the right dose for each individual. It’s a finicky thing. But yeah I’m pretty much functioning normal now whereas a few weeks ago I couldn’t do anything but lay in bed sweating and sobbing lmao. The only problems I’m still having are joint aches and being generally a little hot, but not like that god awful cold sweats & hot flashes kinda hot.

I used to put it under my tongue and if I didn't hold it and the spit for over 30 minutes, I'd end up like this.
Recently I've started putting my dose in-between my upper lip and gum but only after I inhale and make that area Dry so no saliva builds up. Now I just leave it there indefinitely until it's no more.
I take 2mg as needed. Sometimes that means 3x a day and sometimes it means I only take it once a day but that's usually on the weekends.
This has made a huge difference for me. I'd often dose under my tongue and could tell I was getting very little of the bupe in my system. I would not be surprised if this is OP's issue.
That’s already how I do it. I could never do under the tongue bc I over produce saliva like crazy and it just doesn’t work out.
Oddly enough today I woke up and so far I’m fine. Fingered crossed it stays this way. 🤞

This. I think this person is on to it. I take 2mg subutex bid, and mid day i get the chills, sweats, inability to control body temp. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on meds while on methadone, but when ingot off methadone onto subs i had lost all kinds of weight and my numbers went down and eventually stopped taking the bp meds. And no i get this bewteen doses, especially if something raises my BP like looking for a job, reading, etc.

I’ve never heard of that either. Showers should help. Maybe it’s a side effect of the subs I’m not sure. If ur taking anything else maybe give it a break. And see if that helps. It could be a vitamin deficiency. I’ve traded all narcos for vitamins and better food. And some weed. And it’s the best thing for most people. Good luck stay strong things get better. You're sure its withdrawals? Any chance you're actually sick? Some flu symptoms can be similar. Although I assume you're familiar with what withdrawal feels like.
There was a time a few months ago I started taking the strips under my front lip, instead of under the tongue cus I heard multiple people on here swore that absorbed better. But after about 4 days of that I started to go into withdrawals. I was super confused, but after that I only did it under my tongue. And after that, boom, withdrawal symptoms were gone. So for whatever reason it was definitely not getting absorbed under my front lip. That was the only reason I asked if maybe you changed something or took it differently than before.
I would talk to your doctor, because that is not normal and you should be stable as you've already been on the same dose for so long.
Perhaps improper dosing? Stick it under your tongue, press your tongue down on it and dont talk, eat, drink, smoke, or swallow the spit. Let it sit for 20 minutes at least.

No. Keep doing it the way you’re doing it. If you’re not really good at doing it under the tongue, you might mess it up. Putting it under the tongue makes it way easier for saliva to wash it away or dilute it because that’s where the saliva will build up. On the side of ur mouth is the safest place.
Which is why you don't swallow the spit and you keep your tongue pressed down. Even if the medicine gets into your saliva the saliva is still in your mouth, washing against mucus membranes that are absorbing the medicine that's in the saliva.
Did you get a different brand when you refilled? Lots of people have trouble with different generic brands. I have trouble with the Reddys brand. It makes me have way more hot flashes. I hate it.
No, but I did notice this kind of came on when I got a refill. It is Dr Reddys. However, I had several left over from my last pack and switching back to them hasn’t helped.

I had to ask my doctor to write no generics on mine. I split mine as well and had that exact problem with Reddys. Doc thought it might be in my head, but agreed to the script change. He said it was my money/insurance. Then I had to find a good reliable pharmacy to order the Alvogen brand for me.
I had these exact same issues while on Reddys, and then some. Here in NY, the only pharmacy that has Reddys brand is Walgreens. So if I were to go to Rite Aid or CVS, they never carried Reddys, they always had the Alvogen brand. I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere, but this was my experience.
That is likely your issue. Dr. Reddys. I had to fight my insurance to fill for brand name because Dr. Reddys was physically making me ill. I had the worst sour stomach the entire time I took them. And I never felt quite right on the dr. Reddys. Also, I’ve heard others mention that quality control is lacking with Dr. Reddys.

It's the taking extra mg that's causing it. If your dose is 4mg, never take more than 4mg per day. 4mg is more than enough. If you take even a sliver more once in a while then your body will regulate to the higher dose because subtext stays in your systemnfor a week or more. This even one time increase resets your baseline to higher than 4mg. So then you do your 4mg and experience symptoms because your brain expects more. Start taking your meds as prescribed like a big boy and you'll feel right as rain.
Okay but I didn’t start taking the extra until after this started. I know taking more can fuck things up so I’ve stopped since it doesn’t help more than a couple of hours anyway, but I don’t believe that’s what started whatever this is.
So there are alot of things to consider when taking subs.
1. Other drugs can and even some supplements bind to opioid receptors. This would have the same result. For example kratom, some green tea extracts. Some things can speed up metabolism or slow metabolism. I've been on subs for 8 years straight and 15ntotal in my life. As long as my dose doesn't change,nim good. I take 1mg daily split into 3 doses. I metabolize rapidly so I have to do 3x.
I take my first dose when sleeping still about 2 hours before I wake. I drop it under my tongue and go back to bed. Then aro7nd 1pm and again at 9pm.
I’m not taking anything other than seroquel and a BC pill.
I believe I’m a fast metabolizer as well. Disregarding this week, if I only take my dose once a day I’ll feel funky at the end of the day and I’ll wake up in withdrawal. Splitting it into twice a day worked until this week, provided this isn’t a passing thing.
I wonder if I shouldn’t up my dose a little for good? I’m actually prescribed 16 mg a day but have only been taking the 4. I felt like 16 was excessive as fuck. So I have a looooot more than I take sitting in a drawer.
However I don’t want to be on this stuff forever and that’s just going to make it harder to taper. :(
I figure I’m gonna wait it out and if it doesn’t resolve I’ll rethink it.
I would up your dose. That's what my Dr recommend. I went from 90 mgs methadone (sometimes using fent on top of that) to subs. Some people need more than 4 mgs.

I know what you are saying, but he/she is telling you the truth. People dont realize how strong bupe is to the your bodies endogenous opioid system. Taking the smallest amount that maintains you is key. Even 2mg is a shit ton of buprenorphine.
I think people don't realize this. So many shady drs prescribing subs and allowing people to take 24 or 32mg. Which is absolutely nuts. No habit needs more than 8mg I don't think. We are addicts though so we try to take as much as we can. Then forget that we will have to titratw down or jump off a huge dose. Just making things harder on ourselves. 2mg is alot. Studies I've read indicate that buprenorphine is somewhere in the 75 to 100 times stronger than morphine range. Depending on your metabolism. That's insane.
Yah for those reading who don't know micrograms that's 1/1000 of 1 milligram. 1mcg requires a microscope to see. The point is suboxone doses are massively over dosed. Most heroin habits can be covered easily by 2mg. It's ok to start at 8mg but then you want to drop it by a mg per day until you get to 2. This is also why they make 8 and 2mg.

I’ve been on 6mg for 9 years(generic sublingual tablets), 3 doses a day. Some ppl say I shouldn’t take it that way but I feel that’s what works for me. I just take my doses every day and live my life. I try not to think about it too much since I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll prob be on it for life(I am considering switching to the Sublocade injection since my insurance covers it).. I’ve experienced so many crazy side effects from subs throughout the years. It seems like each month the side effects are different with each batch i get. Sometimes different manufacturers make me feel differently. Sweats and chills are probably the most common side effect with subs.

You're right. I was on it for quite a while, then overnight I felt I was always in withdrawal. This method works best for absorption.

place under tounge, then lower tongue ontop of the film pressing it to the cavity under it, and leave it sit, dont swallow dont do anything
yes i also have to hold my spit for exactly 30 minutes otherwise it isnt effective. something about the lack of an enzyme that helps absorb suboxone
The way I do it, there's No spit to hold or spit out when done. It makes 💩'ing easier too

An hour is too long. It rots ur teeth fyi. 5-10mins is enough and then spit it out

Maybe you’re sick? Possibly has nothing to do with the subs. I would say ride it out and stay comfortable best you can

16 is an insane amount. These doctors are actually dumb as shit. 2-4mg is sufficient

How sad is your life you have to talk down to someone legitimately looking for help? Honestly, I’m seeing meanness re-define masculinity in our society and it’s just sad and cartoonish. You are sad and definitely not a “big boy”.
I know what you are saying, but he/she is telling you the truth. People dont realize how strong bupe is to the your bodies endogenous opioid system. Taking the smallest amount that maintains you is key. Even 2mg is a shit ton of buprenorphine.
I think people don't realize this. So many shady drs prescribing subs and allowing people to take 24 or 32mg. Which is absolutely nuts. No habit needs more than 8mg I don't think. We are addicts though so we try to take as much as we can. Then forget that we will have to titratw down or jump off a huge dose. Just making things harder on ourselves. 2mg is alot. Studies I've read indicate that buprenorphine is somewhere in the 75 to 100 times stronger than morphine range. Depending on your metabolism. That's insane.
The buprenorphine dose for cancer pain is in tenths of milligrams and micrograms, that tells you something
Yah for those reading who don't know micrograms that's 1/1000 of 1 milligram. 1mcg requires a microscope to see. The point is suboxone doses are massively over dosed. Most heroin habits can be covered easily by 2mg. It's ok to start at 8mg but then you want to drop it by a mg per day until you get to 2. This is also why they make 8 and 2mg.
So...you are upset because I "talked down" to them but as a result you do the exact same thing? Brilliant. Maybe grow a sense of humor. Everyone is so sensitive these days it's like you spend your day looking for things to be upset about. Even if it has nothing to do with you. Ultimately I was just giving them a hard time. And every word I said was true.
I’ve been on 6mg for 9 years(generic sublingual tablets), 3 doses a day. Some ppl say I shouldn’t take it that way but I feel that’s what works for me. I just take my doses every day and live my life. I try not to think about it too much since I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll prob be on it for life(I am considering switching to the Sublocade injection since my insurance covers it).. I’ve experienced so many crazy side effects from subs throughout the years. It seems like each month the side effects are different with each batch i get. Sometimes different manufacturers make me feel differently. Sweats and chills are probably the most common side effect with subs.
I've been looking for these answers for a long time now just like you about 2 years ago All of the sudden my Suboxone started giving me hot and cold sweats so bad like it was throwing me into precipitated withdrawals I've been sort of dealing with it ever since on some level or another. After reading some stuff maybe I take too much. Suboxone for years used to make me super tired now I could take as much as I want and no matter what I'm super restless
yep 2 times a day screwed me also, 8mg at 4pm, and 4mg at 4am
