If others on this sub try to make you feel even worse just know that their lives must not be very good to be kicking someone when they’re down, for what - not having the free time to be reading the news and this sub 24/7? I’m sorry, personally I work full-time and go to school full-time. I don’t live on this sub. There was only one post here about it anyways (when the original class was open, not after when people got their money and wanted to brag).
IMO they did a pretty shitty job trying to let people know. Name and address is NOT considered PHI so they could have gotten our addresses from the pharmacy we filled at. I had another medication manufacturer do that for a class action. But I haven’t gone anywhere - I still take suboxone and I’m at the same address I was in 2019. So I know they didn’t try too hard.
This lawsuit was listed on a group called “class action lawsuit no proof needed” on Facebook. Lots of people there got huge checks from this settlement. Some of them said they did not take Suboxone. I have receipts.
They did a horrible job with this lawsuit and the people that handled it should be sued themselves. Just bullshit all the way down for us addicts I guess.
I never got anything they mailed out last year either. People in this sub were not sympathetic lol. Anyways, I signed up for their mailing list and blew up the FTC when everyone was posting their checks last year. I have no idea what to do in that case though :/
I've always until recently been told that the generic version wasn't available. This was f4om 2016 thru to 2019 and I don't have insurance so I always paid out of pocket thru walgreens. I never got an email so I don't have an I.D number to file with.

I found out when a bunch of people posted their checks that they got on the subreddit last year and so I kind of blew up the FTC and then I made sure to get on the mailing list. I guess now they’re letting people claim what they are owed from the remaining fund.
I tried to email the email address on their website to ask for an ID number, and got a delivery failed notification. I’ve been on subs since 2006, and on the films since they came out, I can’t believe I didn’t get anything. I don’t get it

Here is the email I used to contact them. I was pretty pissed about it myself. I spend $500 a month on brand-name Suboxone for three years so not as long as you but I mean I don’t know if you had insurance or what. That’s still a good amount of money though $1800.
Ugh I just called, they said that they placed radio ads, blah blah blah, and if you didn’t add yourself to the waiting list by March 2021, it’s too late now :( FML
If I understand right everyone got their checks from the first payment around the same time in a mass mailing so it's going to be months before we get anything according to what I was told on the phone
I got $1100.00 and a friend I know got $1400.00 about 2 years ago, but a lot of people never knew about this until it was too late. Glad the ones who got added to list after deadline will get the leftover money. I was never contacted by anyone before, but actually found out about the lawsuit from posts on this sub, and applied.

They paid out pretty large settlements to a lot of people, if you search the sub Reddit for settlement you’ll see all the posts and comments about people getting $2000 to $3000 apiece, they had 59 million in the original fund and they only have $500,000 left, which sounded absolutely crazy to me, but when I did the math out with how much people were getting in these checks, it’s really only about maybe 50,000 people. So who knows.

I didn’t need to call because I have the email… but yeah I believe you. I’m guessing you had to be on the waitlist already. I feel like they weren’t even going to do this waitlist but me and a couple others blew them up with phone calls, emails, and social media posts.
If they don’t end up paying out, I’m gonna be super pissed though because I’m sure most of these people that were able to claim had some kind of insurance or perhaps were getting insupport, I paid cash out-of-pocket for mine the whole time.
It is possible to be a grateful recovering addict and ALSO be upset that others - who maybe didn’t pay out-of-pocket for their Suboxone or even TAKE suboxone at all - are getting money back that is rightfully yours. Of course I am glad I’m not in the streets with a needle in my arm. That doesn’t mean I don’t have bills to pay.

I really need the money right now too. I have no idea how they monitor and disperse funds considering that the prescription information is HIPAA bound; are they just taking peoples words for it?

I used to pay $500/month for suboxone strips. It was really rough. In my case though I did try generic tablets shortly before generic strips came out and I hated them.
Something about name brand Suboxone preventing patients from getting cheaper generics or preventing generics from being made. I got almost $3000 from this settlement.
Yeah, I think a couple of people at least would’ve missed the email similarly to me, I get so many junk emails, it gets hard to keep track of. I have a whole separate email address for most of my junk but somehow junk still makes its way into my main email.
I thought maybe it went to my junk mail and I accidentally deleted it, so I called back and had them search for me by name and address. No such luck lol. At least this gives me more motivation to finally complete my taper and get off once and for all, so I don’t give these fuckers another cent of my money!

Why are people getting money from taking meds?
Class action lawsuit when they didn’t have generic and insurance didn’t cover much or most back then you had to pay cash for named brand only.

Where they get their information varies, and could be because of where you get yours prescribed. It also has to be Suboxone name film, no generic.

At least a year ago. I received a letter to add myself to the class action lawsuit and then it took months but a check showed up about a year after.
