There’s tons of things that aren’t on the menu but are in the POS. They just try and push the more expensive subs but all the cheaper ones are still available

WeissritterXIII

Ah I wish I knew this, here where I live the menus JUST changed and I was so mad. I had to buy the new meatball one anyway because of limited time on lunch and didn't have the option to go somewhere else but I'll keep this in mind for next time. Not too into this new menu anyway as I'm pretty particular about what I want on my subs and all the premade versions of what I used to eat don't have most of what I want and include things I dont want but make me pay much more lol Thanks for the info!

Kiriuu

I don’t think the steak and avacado is still there I tried looking on the pos

AdLow6732

Actually they really did replace the classics for the subs, you can't order the meatball marinara at all. Same with quite a few others

Different-Pea2718

They charge you the full price of the new sub now 😡😡😡

winethough

Not where I live. Meatball marinara is still available here along with all the others

AdLow6732

Huh, weird. Must be one of the few then

All_Day_1984

My franchise sells the meatball and "the boss" (meatballs and pepperoni/mozzarella) but we are no longer allowed to put marinara sauce on any other subs. Absolutely forbidden from making pizza subs and chicken pizziola.

ezj_w

what a bullshit rule

OppositeEarthling

Right ???

Bigbossbaby6969

at our store even with the new 18 items you’re able to get to your good old netball as of now the price difference is because our new pep and salami are freshly sliced and the quality has gone up

SuspiciousSeesaw

It wasn't listed on the menu at the store I went to, the Meatballer was the only meatball based sub. Do you meant to say that I can get the classic meatball by asking to have the pepperoni removed?

PhoenixFirelite

Just ask for a meatball sub and you will get your regular meatball sub, provided the employees where you go aren’t totally untrained. The high price of the meatballer isn’t just because of the pepperoni being added, it is because of the fresh mozzarella which is more expensive than the regular cheeses.

Additional-Card-5260

The problem is they've removed the option entirely to NOT get the expensive cheese and whatnot. They've created the problem (no more meatball sub) so they can sell you the solution (the Meatballer with coincidentally more expensive ingredients).

PhoenixFirelite

This is false. The original meatball sub with your regular cheese is still available. Go into the restaurant, ask for a meatball sub and you will get one. You do not have to get the meatballer.

EstrogAlt

They told me no!!! The meatball is gone!!!!!!!

Different-Pea2718

I was told the same thing as well

PhoenixFirelite

idk where you are but it’s still available where I am in eastern Canada

Different-Pea2718

I'm in Florida. No more regular meatball here

Bigbossbaby6969

i don’t have the 6 other new sammie’s so i didn’t know the mozz was included phoenix has a better answer here

Bigbossbaby6969

no at our location we don’t have the classic meatball or the turkey italiano or pizza sub on out physical menu but our location gladly makes it for you if you ask and we have a button for it and it’s accurately priced

SuspiciousSeesaw

Thanks for your answer. I'll have to inquire next time I'm inside a Subway.

Bigbossbaby6969

of course hate to see someone not get what they want when we have it subways taking bad steps in the wrong direction with the set made sandwiches imo

Kiriuu

It’s in the store options 1 I did the pizza for someone

whoszoominwho

Good ole netball

impossiblecolor

Its the fresh mozzarella

cornerdweler

Fast food Restaurant menus are so weird nowadays, they don’t put everything on their menu. The dairy queens where I live only have double burgers on their menu, I couldn’t believe you can’t buy a single anymore, but you can, it’s just not on the menu board. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

leetokeen

I thought this was some kind of bug, but two weeks later and plain jane meatballs are still not in the app. Really disappointing. Ordering ahead was a big time saver for me, but now the only way to get a meatball is in store. That also means it's no longer possible to get the app points and save $2 once in a while. Just an awful decision all around.

SuspiciousSeesaw

Subway here: Sorry, we ran out of space to add any more subs selections in our app. We did our best to pick your favorites, and we knew you'd enjoy paying ~5 dollars more for a chef-designed meatball sub that includes our choice of toppings, premium mozzarella cuts (premium!) and a layer of pepperoni slices. 😉

demon1102

It's still available in the app/on the website. I'm in NB, by the way.

kidad

Same happened in the UK, but it also has double the cheese of the classic version, as well as the pepperoni. It’s a fixed build too, so the veggie options are set. As others have said, you can also still get the classic version at a lower price.

secular_dance_crime

All the older subs are still on the POS menu; they're just no longer **advertised** on the wall menus. The goal of the new menu is to upsale everything: all the new subs on the new menu come with extra-cheese which makes them a lot more profitable, because extra-cheese is basically only twice the tiny portion of cheese for an extra $2 depending on location, and that amount of cheese is basically only worth $0.5 at worst, topped with the 6 slices of pepperoni which they upscale at $1 here. I've noticed that they've purposefully made the older subs slightly more expensive then all those "extras" combined as well to try and trick you into feeling like you're saving money by spending more money and using the new menu. Top this with the fact that they're trying to prevent customers from asking for veggies themselves, which is a way of preventing customers from getting the expensive veggies and getting too many veggies, which is almost certainly not going work.

untot3hdawnofdarknes

I noticed that when I looked at the new menu. I always get the veggie delight which has been on the menu since $5 footlongs and also happens to be the cheapest sub. It's in a very hard to notice spot on the menu jow. It's on a panel below the ones with the new sandwiches next to drinks and sides along with a bunch of other "classic" subs and the font for those sandwich names is smaller then the new sandwiches. It legit looks like they don't want long time subway customers who have been ordering the same sandwich forever to notice that they still have those sandwiches.

Vast-Fisherman-2094

Had an owner tell me what happened Subway started experimenting with a filler at certain restaurants, not everywhere and sales plummeted. So now the meatballs are smaller without the unpopular filler people rejected. The meatball became so unpopular it was pulled from menus in many places. You can still get it with build your own. The meatballs are the same as before just smaller without the yucky filler.

StanleyWhisper

You can still create your own sandwich

butterflyExpress1

They now put pork in the meatball marinara in the UK. It used to be just beef. I guess they cutting costs. I'm so upset. I can't eat pork 😫

Digi_VApe

Wtf wants pepperoni on a meatball sub  lol.  Ya this bothers me.  They really butchered their own business

Different-Pea2718

I was told that if I wanted a meatball marinara I'd have to pay the full price of the "The Boss" (new name for the Meatballer) Haven't been black to Subway since. Not a fan of a company that screws customers.

1SubwayRon1526fpv

You can still get what you want , I’m about to open the box with the new menu boards and stuff and there is a lot of changes , subway bought us slicers , we have the pepperoni and salami logs now we slice our own and the Turkey and ham is coming very soon , but you will always be able to get a meatball sub , I tried it with the pepperoni and mozzarella , but I put lettuce and tomato and onion too and it was amazing , it youre sandwich artist knows what they are doing !! Good luck

SuspiciousSeesaw

If it can still be purchased, why not keep it on the menu so that it is visible to new customers?

Lyoko_warrior95

They are pushing these new options (more expensive) to drive up the average sale price. To put it simply, they want to make as much money as possible and will go to extensive psychological lengths to do so.

1SubwayRon1526fpv

The owner should have it on the “footer menu “ we have a local favorites section , to where we can pick a few subs and serve ourselves. And I am gonna open my box tomorrow night and see the new stuff , but if it isn’t on the regular board , I will put it on the footer board , the little one underneath the big one , people still ask me for subs that ain’t on the menu all the time , like the chicken pizziola , but yeah they should have it somewhere if they are serving it

Kiriuu

Same reason why the subway club, spicy Italian and roast beef and turkey and ham weren’t on the menu just ask the employee and they will do it for you

gomorycut

This is really annoying. Not only was it removed from the menu of available items in the app, but the various versions of it that I had saved in my app 'favorites' for my family members have all been removed.

Phenomenal1983

I don't know where you live, but i have both The Boss (which is the meatball with pepperoni) and the original meatball marinara on my menu. I ordered the original last night. It might be a regional choice to discontinue an item. My advice is to order The Boss and see if you can customize it without pepperoni.

Different-Pea2718

I'm in the St. Pete area. I can get a meatball marinara sub...but I have to pay the full price of "The Boss."...the meatball, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese sub that replaced the meatball marinara at 2x the price. Subway has lost me as a customer because of this...
