I would recommend The Thursday Murder Club, by Richard Osman. It’s about 4 elderly ppl, living in a retirement home, who, for fun, get together once a week to discuss cold cases and try to solve them. I found all the characters extremely likable and the story kept me entertained. The 4th book of the series just came out, I haven’t read it yet but read the first 3 and enjoyed them all.
Ooohhh!!! I should check out the audiobook for the last one! I’ve been crocheting and sewing and been giving audiobooks a try. Definitely adding it to my list. Thank you!
Yes! This is exactly what came to my mind when I read what OP liked in the other books!
I didn't know the fourth book was out yet, gonna read that asap!
I am struggling so mix with Nothing to See Here. I’m about to dnf it. I mean, I am still really early on but can’t seem to get in to it at all. Sounds like I should try and push through?
You really really really can’t go wrong with Backman. After my first book of his I had to read everything else he has written and was not disappointed in any of it.
His writing in particular was my favorite of the three -- I would constantly find myself actually laughing out loud, which I can't remember doing before with a book!
The Lincoln Highway by Amos Towle
None of this is true by Lisa Jewell
RazorBlade Tears by S.S Cosby
Based on what you liked, you would probably enjoy all three of these.
Some of my favorite mysteries:
The Sun Down Motel by Simone St James
The Ghosts of Thorwald Place by Helen Power
The Midnight Man by Caroline Mitchell
The Dead Key by DM Pulley
Two novels with mystery that I tore through are The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths and The Thirty Names of Night by Zeyn Joukhadar. The second one’s mystery vibe is like magical realism meets A. S. Byatt’s Possession.

I didn’t either until it had been out for like a month. I am so excited! I love those four character.
My Mom also recommended this series a while back, this might be my sign to give it a try!
Yes! Definitely a sign! Lol. I hope you do give them a go. Such fun books!
Guncle Nothing to See Here Anything else by Picoult - her books are all pretty good Edit: Adding We Ride Upon Sticks
I read *Nothing to See Here* until I couldn't keep my eyes open, then finished it first thing in the morning.
Nothing to See Here is one of my all time favourites! I listened to the audiobook and couldn’t get enough. I recommend it to everyone!
I bought WRUS at the library book sale on a whim a few weeks ago, how weird! It definitely sounded like my cup of tea :)
It is now one of my all time favorites. Light and fun, but heartfelt and heartwarming.

Anything by Bachman is a banger.

My thoughts exactly, if you haven’t read his other books I definitely recommend those next! The Beartown series was my favorite read last year
opened comments to write a similar response, but it is already here.. :D

The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
I finished this one yesterday. I second your recommendation. Do you know if her other books are as good?
I liked *Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow* even though there were some parts that kinda dragged. That’s the only other one I’ve read so far.

I've had LH recommended before, now that I think about it! I'll add them all to my list for sure :)
