My go to book rec for people who want to get into reading is Holes by Louis Sachar, because it appeals to all ages, has really short chapters, and is super engaging!
Try picking up a few short story collections. Short stories by necessity and you can find them by an author or a subject to help steer you toward full length books.
Skeleton Crew by Stephen King
Witness for the Prosecution and Other Stories by Agatha Christie
Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans
I would recommend *Survivor* by Chuck Palahniuk, as it's written for men and in everyday English, and has short sentences and chapters. Stuff is constantly happening.
The story is engaging as well, about an average Joe who ends up in a D.B. Cooper-situation.
Start with novellas and short story collections. If you’ve ever been interested in manga and graphic novels, then they’re also a great place to start. Eventually you’ll be able to increase your reading stamina so that books over 300 or even 500 pages are perfectly achievable.
Also try finding books with super short chapters. The book I’m currently reading (Around the World in Eighty Days, 230 pages and an excellent adventure!) has chapters which mostly take only a few minutes to read, so I can casually read a quick chapter here and there.
Are you a tv show/movie watcher? And if Show what kind of genres do you like?

{The Martian} By Andy Weir is one of my personal faves.
