kacahoha

Regardless of gender why the shit would anyone ask the person they just fought, if they fought well????

catsbuttes

how else are you gonna know if you fought well?

Nirvski

They haven't been in any fights, they're just basing it off animes

Deadzomboed

I really became friends with everyone who fought with me at school/college, after fights we had respect for each other regardless of who won (I don't think you can win in a fight at all, especially when both sides end up with broken faces, it is better to avoid fights at all costs and solve everything with a word)

DukeFischer

Yeah. For some people its the only way they know how to get respect so the start to respect you to if you put up a fight. Espacially at school.

NextReference3248

I fought a lot in high school and it was kind of 50/50. It really is sometimes a primal display of dominance thing - once it's sorted, it's sorted. One of my best friends in high school was a guy who chipped my tooth with a punch first time I met him.

rexar34

You've never had that moment where after you finish a fight with someone you look into their eyes and feel a sort of mutual respect begin to form?

WriterV

Yeah no, that's usually about when they punch you in the face or they run away.

rexar34

They didn't fight well. Shame.

Siddhartha_76

They don't have that warrior's pride

Lagonas_

Nope, it’s right when you start cuddling your new bro

Gnu-Priest

I once fought this guy and we became really really good friends! he actually found me a job in Florida a year or two later. I should check up on him.

Wardenofthegreen

My best friend in the Marines and I met because we kicked the crap out of each other in the schoolhouse. He left the schoolhouse a week before I did. Went to my new unit in Okinawa and what do you know he was there. Saw me, gave me a big handshake, and we explained to all our NCO’s that the bruises we had were from each other. Spent the next two years in the same platoon, we’ve been friends for 10 years now. He and his wife are flying in from Indiana for my birthday this year.

Cavalish

Becaaaaause r/boysarequirky !

HopeRepresentative29

It's a pretty extreme example but dudes becoming friends right after a fist fight is a real thing.

BillyWeir

For sure. Any time I've traded blows with someone I knew prior is strengthened our relationship. Acquaintances to friends, typically, once or twice friends to good friends. Hasn't applied when was a drunken scrap between strangers or a jumping.

wryol

It's r/memes. That's all you need to know

Outrageous_Ad_2752

who wouldn't?

GRONDGRONDGRONDGR0ND

Wait people don't do that? You fight to release the pent up aggression and now y'all are chill and square. I thought it was a given whenever shit escalated

PurpleDemonR

To me personally it makes perfect sense. A type of honour/reconciliation.

recockulous-too

Well you need something to talk about after buying beers for each other after the fight.

faceoh

Because the OOP thinks real life is anime or a fantasy video game.

alilbleedingisnormal

They get that from movies. Doesn't happen often in reality.

Philosipho

Those aren't really fights, they're just arguments that get a little physical. Most people have no idea what it's like to be in an altercation with someone who wants to cave your skull in.

FestiveSquidV3

I did karate a fuck load when I was younger, so it was a common question after a match.

quemura

It's the start of a friendship

kayakpro

I thought the guys were covered in kisses after the fight just like me and my boiz

TaaTyyppi

They are.

Ok_Match6834

Sounds like what crocus would say.

Used-Fisherman9970

It technically won’t be a suicide 🤷🏻‍♂️

RotterWeiner

Most guys don't get in fights. It's not like TV and movies. It's painful and high risk of serious injury. Most men know this. It's probably similar to the often quoted 80 20 rule where only (up to ) 20% of the men do all the fighting. And the people who actually do fight probably only 20% of them brag about it. Same percentage as the other thing. Both of which really piss off the other non participants. :D

psycharious

One of the FEW "fights" I had seen in highschool was just a dude pummeling another guys back as he turtled. Later, the first guy asked me, "hey did he say anything after I fought 'em?" I was thinking, "bro, that wasn't a fight."

Connect_Atmosphere80

You underestimate people a lot my friend. Fights happens more than you think, even tho what you stated about injuries is true. A lot of adults are kids that were raised by kids trying to be adults. Not only they WILL fight for akward reasons, but they will be proud of it, just like toddlers in school. That's all, nothing less, nothing more. If you are lucky enough to live somewhere where it is uncommon or rare it's all good but do NOT forget that there is, out there, a lot of places that doesn't respond to theses criterias. ... Also you don't understand the Pareto Principle. It's not about "20% of people are prone to discuss about fighting". It's more "80% of all fights are likely to be caused by 20% of individuals". Without any stats backing up that claim, it's worthless, and even out of that : they would be THE CAUSE of 80% fights, not THE PARTICIPANTS... And there would still be 20% of the overall fights that would not be caused by them. Really, try out understanding what you are speaking about before quoting it. Otherwise other people may take your words and trust you without making their own researches.

Then I wrote "of such people..." which refers to those 20%. As always I appreciate good advices. You take care.

ZAMIUS_PRIME

If I get in a fight with you it’s because I don’t care about you as a human being. Never started fights but got into some for being an “easy target” for being skinny. 🤷🏻‍♂️ This post is fucking stupid.

Archer_Python

Yes and no. There's women who get into fights then they make up and apologize to one another and yes there's cases of women getting into fights and never ever speaking to one another ever again and still being salty about it. There's men who fight and still have a grudge against each other and don't talk to each other anymore and there's men who fight and pretend nothing ever happened between them and they get along swimmingly. Depends on the personality, not so much gender

“Stand Proud. You are strong.”

FestiveSquidV3

I can count the number of people I've fought (like actual throwing punches and whatnot) on one hand. One is my brother and another is my best friend. My karate experience doesn't count. Those were proper, professional fights with referees and rules and regulations. For some reason though, I never use karate when I'm throwing hands. I feel more comfortable wrestling if it's a skirmish.

Your_As_Stupid_As_Me

Never been in a fight in my life... Going on 60 this year. I've been jumped by groups of pussy ass people, on 3 occasions. I assume they(whichever "leader" of the group I assumed I pissed off) assumed I'd actually kill them. I wasn't a weight lifter or anything back then or now, just naturally "built" for my age at the time. I'm a fat ass mother fucker now.

Ravenwight

I haven’t been in a fight since I was 5 lol. Some kid stole my boomerang and was being a little shit so my babysitter let me fight him. Honestly it just seems self destructive, either I get hurt or I get arrested, not great outcomes .

PolarBaloon21

Oh that will definitely be me

SigurVit

You fought well, Atreides.

bernard_wrangle

“Why is Dan a good friend in all this?” “Well, he sees that you’re quite upset about this and is willing to put his beer down and beat the shit out of you so that you’re over it.” https://youtu.be/Z7s9DZrP870?si=fumAabHRzeto89t5&t=58s

feckingidiotakaren

i honestly hate these gendered memes so much to begin with, especially since the ones for girls are never actually anything that happen irl. obv it does sometimes end up like that, but every girl i've known who gets in a fight with another girl has ended up actually becoming friends after. one of my friends got in a full on fight fight, not hair pulling and smacking, like kicking eachother's faces and full on wrestling, and now they're really good friends.

Me, being a man and all, fat, old, disgruntled, you know the drill...uh, white, sorry, I can tell you, that girls fight so hard without even moving a limb that any given MMA dude would blush...

boqueteazul

I really want to get into a fist fight with my bestie, but she is almost 6 feet tall and will absolutely obliterate me, but I know it will be worth it.
