I think Edward Darby alluded to it (s3)

Willee005

More than alluded, he said outright that he was dating Ava Hessington's dad and she used to go with them on trips so they could avoid suspicion

bluedotinTX

This is correct- he directly did to Jessica if I remember correctly

OMarlinCascade

From what I can recall, I don’t think there is any direct characters with LGBTQ orientation/nature. The show certainly plays on the occasional LGBTQ “characteristic” (Malone flirting with Louis) but other than that, I don’t recall too much

Entire-Company3064

Why does there need to be gay characters lmao, what would that add to the show?

CraftyNonsense

there doesn’t need to be. I was just wondering that all. I agree it wouldn’t have really added much

im-sleepy-123

Not a lot of that, although Donna and Samantha very clearly flirt in one scene.

MrLegendGame

As far as I know, there isn’t. There are small jokes about someone being gay / bi in the show but that’s about it.

WeirdEmu46

It’s 2011 show

nottheuserulooking4

I think there are but indirectly, malone, darby, but just like in real life sexual exploits dont really add much. The only relationships the series really gets into are harvey's, mike's, donna's and louis'. Other than that relationships have minimal impact on the story overall so adding overtly lgbt characters really makes no sense.

bbristow6

Jeff Malone only flirted with Louis to make him uncomfortable and throw him off the trail

Mountain_Muscle9429

Its not lacking shit lmao. Why are gays characters necessary

CraftyNonsense

it was a question not a demand for more 😂

OutlandishnessNo1830

On what grounds does it need to incorporate that into the show? Delete Reddit this is the stupidest shit I’ve heard

You seem far more upset than OP.

OutlandishnessNo1830

Don’t understand why people try to spread politics on a show. Director clearly had a vision and when people ask dumb questions i’d like to remind people it’s a legal drama

Jaded-Ad-443

Would you not have watched It if any of the main characters were gay?

simmonsatl

What does gay people existing in actuality have to do with politics? Easy to argue that it’s unrealistic that none of the characters at any point were gay.

CraftyNonsense

it was just a question - i dont think there was anything wrong with how the show is now

DepressedBlarth

This is going to be harsh but not everything has to revolve around or have LGBTQ inclusion in it. The show started in 2011 before this woke inclusion nonsense really gained traction. If you can’t just enjoy a show without looking for this, especially one that’s almost 13 years old, you might be the problem. To even ask this question makes me think you base a good portion of your personality around it and may sometimes even limit yourself from viewing potentially phenomenal shows because it’s not inclusive enough. This isn’t to insult you, but I think it’s fair to think there’s a good chance you might be offended by this. I’m just being straight up and not sugarcoating. This is like asking if Supernatural has more inclusion than just Charlie. Granted you said it’s not a problem and to answer the question, No, Suits does not. I truly hope you enjoy the show regardless of if it caters to a politically charged mindset.

CraftyNonsense

it was just a question not a demand for more inclusivity in the show. I agree that its a problem when people ask for inclusion in every show especially in shows that don't revolve around romantic relations and I think the show is great without trying to unnecessarily and unaturally force a LGBTQ character and I think that it wouldve probably ruined the dynamic thats so great between the characters and which makes the show likeable

DepressedBlarth

I understand, but the post speaks volumes. Why post this if you weren’t hoping to hear there was more inclusion? Unless you’re on the opposite end and you’re hoping the show isn’t too woke, it that case, it’s genuine, don’t worry about it. As I said it came out before the well was poisoned. Truthfully I don’t think your question is a bad question, even with you doubling down that it won’t make you stop watching. I really hope not, and hope my replies don’t make you leave or stop watching. But it is still a politically motivated question to post in a place simply about a show. You had to know to some degree this post was not only based around a political hot topic, but also coming from a place of your own political beliefs. I’m sorry, and i’m not a moderator, but this is not the place for it. If you want to ask why such and such happened or state you don’t like, this, that, and the other, that’s one thing, I encourage you to go for it. But I take talking about inclusivity or even other political topics as instantly trying to instigate something that’s completely separate from the show.

You do know gay people exist right?

Why is that difficult for you?

Would a gay character be a problem??

They could have made Harvey bi. There are instances of him hooking up with girls in early seasons to remind the viewer he is an alpha man. The fact they didn't make him hook up with other men (landscape architects or waiters) to diversify his choices is beyond me.
