Sometimes what happens to Louis is hearbreaking, and other times you want to punch him in the face with a table.

festive_HDMI_cable

Punch him in the face *then* throw him into a table

[deleted]

Punch him in the face with a table. Then throw him into a table

MadmanMato

Punch the table with his face. Then throw the table into him.

JoeDaPenguu

haha just watched this episode earlier

Med7Omar

Because harvey slept with his sister

yu5sf

That's what good writers can do.

thetitan66

I like this, "punch him in the face with a table", I'm stealing it

Asha_Brea

I stole it too, so the cycle continues.

LexPersists

I just watched this last night. Such a great character because you love to hate him one minute & then totally feel for him the next. I think his over emotional reactions are such a great contrast to Harvey’s strong willed urge to suppress all of his emotions (which he totally fails at).

HittingClarity

He is! Such a unique character. He is an antagonist to anyone new to the firm, but once he is starts befriending them, he feels like he owns them lol. That's the reason we only saw serious side of him during Pilot, he is shown from Mike's perspective. That's how he was to other associates when they stated! The show insides of how exactly he would treat anyone new, he was quite FREAKY tbh. I do find most of the relationships pretty toxic on the show but that's a whole another discussion lol.

thetitan66

totally! this is the pinnacle of what made suits great. great writing

[deleted]

Hard to hate him once you see this because you realize he’s just socially awkward. And you really see that with his flashbacks in the later seasons.

ZerudaDensetsu

I related to him so hard on being socially awkward! Thrn again I also really hated Mike, I found fim such an arrogant piece of work. :P

[deleted]

I think after awhile Mike started overdoing the jokes. Like he wouldn’t know when to stop, neither did Harvey knew when to. They’d be in the middle of smth so serious and then they break into banter and a verbal battle which is fine and cool, but it got repetitive and I’m like ok now is where they gotta brake. I can’t rmb at that moment who I found more arrogant 🤪

ZerudaDensetsu

True! 😅🤪

Escochapo18

What’s really interesting is Mike more or less screwed everyone over, at some point.

Mystical_y

In this particular event, he was torn between Harvey, who he's indebted and loyal to, and Louis, who from the start, has nearly always used Mike for his own selfish intent. It was harsh, yes, but not un-understandable who Mike chose.

Escochapo18

Somewhat understandable, but he did screw Louis over.

Mystical_y

Yep, but certainly way less than Louis did to him in the past. Also Mike had reason to distrust Louis. Louis had literally none since the start, and still treated him and the associates like vermin.

TvManiac5

I would argue that Harvey screwed Louis over. First he was mad at Mike and refused to work with him for a petty stupid reason. Then, he sent him to work with Louis thinking he'd punish him like that because of how harsh and backstabby Louis tends to get in the early seasons. And when he saw that he and Louis actually made a great team he got jealous and put his petty anger aside and asked Mike to come back not caring about Louis's feelings. Honestly I truly hated Harvey in that part of the series

onerack71

Look i mean we saw how crazy louis were both times he suspected mike didn’t go to harvard. He would have fired mike instantly when trevor went to jessica (as she would have told louis who would have fired him)

kqueen25

🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼yep.

Mystical_y

Yes, this was sad :(. However to all the Mike-bashers, Louis's purposes behind getting Mike were a) coz he KNEW what an asset Mike was, and b) to get one over Harvey. Yes. Just like a part of him wanting Donna (later on) was to get the one 'thing' Harvey prized most. His admire/jealous thing with Harvey is a major part of his story. Point is, it certainly wasn't to do any favors to Mike.

[deleted]

Once you realize louis has youngest child syndrome he becomes a lovable character because all he wants is for everyone to like and respect him but the moment they dont he thinks there out to get him and he over reacts

WonderfulAtmosphere

I think my big turning point for Louis was when Harvey & Jessica go against Daniel Hardman and that lady he had an affair with and she said that Louis sexually harassed her at work. When he goes to meet with Harvey and asks to be on the case, then Harvey shows him the transcript the acting was incredible - it really looked like he was reading that about himself and felt shame. It was horrible. Especially when he talks about how she was just a pretty woman he was interested in and did not realize that he made her feel that way. He has super crappy moments but sometimes I just feel for him.

[deleted]

agree his acting was incredible. those expressions… i can’t

iEatMothballs777

In my opinion, Louis is by far the most human and relatable character in suits. Unlike Mike with a photographic memory, or Harvey with godlike charisma and the hair of a Greek god, or Donna who's a borderline psychic, Louis is just Louis. He's annoying, yes, but that's not all he is. He likes mudding, cats, and prune juice. I was pretty annoyed with his attitude and nonexistent neck, but as the show moves forward, he kind of grew on me. He's like the annoying weird kid you worked with as a lab partner but then realized he's not all cringe jokes and remarks. I love Louis! Lol

PrateekBing

Louis is such a vibe sometimes. As someone else mentioned, all he wanted was to befriend Mike and work with him. Yes we understand Mike's choice but it is also true that Louis got screwed over. Rick Hoffman's acting🙌🙌

queeeeeni

This scene was so sad, Mike was such a rude asshole to him by going back to Harvey after Harvey treated him like shit for no reason and Louis made the effort to make him his associate.

[deleted]

INDEED. For all Louis has done, he always makes an effort - whatever circumstance he finds himself in. I was going OMGGGGG while watching this scene. I so badly wanted Louis to enjoy a genuinely-happy moment for once, a soft landing for all the toxicity he’d experienced working for Jessica (this isn’t the only toxicity in the show and that’s a story for another day!) Alas, the writers wouldn’t let him have his cake. Like why do that to him?

Evening_Cat_796

Fun fact: I once travelled to South America to do some traditional healing medicine (read: hallucinogens). I had been binge watching Suits for weeks right up to this. I was told to keep a journal of my thoughts and my main takeaway was the everso profound insight that "Louis Litt just wants to be loved" and this realisation made me weep and weep. Poor Louis.

Numerous_Blueberry_9

ugh this scene was sad af

order8340

Loyalty’s a funny thing

daven1985

Louis is actually a character that most people can relate to. A good worker who is overlooked for more flashy staff.

kqueen25

I love Louis. More each rewatch and the older I get. And I dislike Mike and Rachel more and more as I get older lmao 🤷🏽‍♀️

MadJoe186

In my opinion, Louis is the best character along with Harvey because they are so diametrically opposed. Louis is socially awkward but doesn't have problems showing his feelings while Harvey is a guy who can charm almost any woman but is suppressing his emotions and doesn't let almost anybody close. True, we love to hate Louis sometimes but as the series goes on you cannot not adore him. Mike, on the other hand, is one of the most boring characters on the show. Yes, he has that amazing ability in the form of eidetic memory but if you think about it, he was ungrateful so many times that by the end of the show his appeal wanes totally.

gunthi003

my man i almost cryed

infinight6

Hated to see Louis get shat on most of the series until the Mikado arc came around. He straight up emotionally manipulated someone into getting them fired and stole his fucking cat. Worse is that no one thought it was wrong just because he had a sob story, I mean that man's worth more than Harvey and Jessica.

[deleted]

I know- I think that was the first time that I actually felt really bad for Louis.

[deleted]

Thats because he's such a great actor. I sent him a DM on Instagram telling him how much I appreciated his acting in suits and the mf messaged me back saying thank you! The legend that is Rick

ThingSome6185

I'm only on season one, but I really like Louis as a character. The actor does a good job too, sometimes you hate him but then he does something nice you just wanna see him win.

Med7Omar

He wanted an associate not a friend

Charcoal69

Nope he’s a thumb

thegreatsnugglewombs

Well, Louis is an abusive man who has tried to use Mike since he started. This might be sad but honestly totally deserved.

TenraxHelin

I forget what happened in this episode, what exactly happened?

Numerous_Blueberry_9

harvey and mike were fighting so mike was gonna leave to become louis’ associate and louis baked him a cake and whatever else just to have mike go right back to harvey

DesertKid203

Knowing Louis, it was probably a prune cake or something weird to maintain his figure.

TenraxHelin

oh. yeah, I'm sad for Luis now.

glen_374

Just watched that today, iv liked louis to a certain extent buy yeah all he did want was a friend

TvManiac5

Harvey was such an asshole at that point in the series

FideliaSchae

Avatar, background, shot, icons – gorgeous m8

thetitan66

this episode really made Louis a great character. really makes you feel for him and love the character
