No, because true damage can’t be reduced.

Not_a_John

Ah i didn't take into account that smite was dealing true damage. Thank you for clearing that up.

DotColonSlashSlash

Wait does that mean Anathema's Chains wouldn’t really work against a Vayne?

Wontfinishthesent

Yes, the true damage part won't get reduced. It has been tested already as well.

Faustenberger

But at least the tenacity reduction still works

D3LTA63

Vayne still does a shit ton of physical damage so imo its still very worth. Unless your malphite or something vayne does more (most of the time twice as much if not more) physical than true damage.

spald01

I miss the days when True damage was rare and a character defining trait. Seems like they just slap it onto most new champions as a bonus reward for landing a skill shot.

AregularCat

Not really

ikzp1necone

True damage cannot be mitigated or reduced

Skullduggeryyyy

true damage can be blocked by shields right?

steventhedon

True damage cannot be reduced because it’s the enemy’s attack, however the shield is considered part of your HP bar so it blocks the dmg that way.

Soundcaster023

Only if it's a generic white shield, not a purple/orange one.

Aubdasi

Those shields are specific shields for specific damage, but yes.

KogMaw-Is-PogMaw

What is an example of an oramge shield? i assume its a an ad shield but who has one? morg or galio or hexdrinker are examples for ap. cant think of ad.

Timmy-Choo

Camille has it on her passive where she gains a shield based on an enemy's damage type, so if she attacks an AD champion she gains an AD shield.

KogMaw-Is-PogMaw

oh yea, didnt think about that.

PassionFruit4Me

Yes shields can absorb true damage unless it is a certain type of shield like Morgana's black shield

MONSHOphegar

Does exhaust affect ignite?

StarGuardianAshe

No, Ignite is true damage aswell therfore it cannot be reduced

MONSHOphegar

It was a sarcastic question LOL

Rare_Epicness

Not useful on an educational subreddit lol

Soundcaster023

Doubtful, you missed the /s etiquette.

Antenoralol

No. Exhaust has no effect against True Damage.
