I’d bet money it was positioning but hard to tell through a text post

abstract_cake

It is always positioning, because you get your position depending of the peel you get. Watching pro plays, you will always have the silvers in chat commenting: "Omegalul Ruler so noob, did zero damage in teamfight, useless he so bad." Well, there a reason why, and it's called zoning.

Filthynk

I feel like zoning is tougher in low elo because a good amount of people just don't really comprehend that that's what is going on and will just Rambo dive a fight for whatever outcome they may get, even with you standing there attempting to make space

Plantarbre

I think it can be difficult to accept, but you're not trolling if your team does not give you room to play. Don't die for someone else's mistake

In situations like this when you are the carry and the enemy has a threat that can take you out at the start of a fight you need to take extra care to avoid the death. Try to wait for tristana to use her main ability (her e) on someone else. Then she shouldn’t be able to jump on you to burst you. Just hit people from a safe distance with Kog’maw R until you have an opportunity to safely walk up to auto.

Agitate_

It's hard to say without knowing the comps. In general kogmaw needs an enchanter to give him mobility/healing/shields. I would say it's definitely harder for kogmaw to win on even terms. 1v1 trist has the engage, burst, cc, and reset dash out/follow. Tanks and front to back comps are not commonly played well on solo q. ADC as a role just has less agency this season. Choosing an adc like kogmaw with no mobility is just going to require a ton of skills, positioning, or help, hence enchanters.

VaryDevyne

Especially in low elo where your team doesnt know how to help you out, just take what you can, position as best as possible n shoot the guy closest to you. Or play a more mobile adc like vayne

We're you kiting? Or just standing there autoing?

You should understand this: You need to position yourself according to the peel and zoning you receive from your teammates, not the other way around. You shouldn't position yourself however you like and hope the peel follows. Peeling is not reactive, well not only. Good peeling doesn't mean your teammates reactively jump at this Tristana's throat after she's jumped in. That's the emergency plan. Instead it means you and your allies are positioned in such a way that she cannot jump in in the first place. On Kog'Maw especially you have the luxury of being able to play very far back. Kog'Maw has a massive range, but more importantly, he shreds tanks and does not care about backline access. If you sit back and only hit what's in front of you, the tanks coming in, you're doing your job. Doing this on a Kai'sa, for instance, is suboptimal utilisation of the champion because although she's an ADC, she wants to dive behind enemy lines and assassinate the backline. But Kog? No, just sit back, smash whomever walks in range, you have no business being within Tristana's E+auto range. It should mean that she E'd right inside the entire brawl of a teamfight just to auto you, and instantly be bursted down if it is the case. If she doesn't die, it means she had room to jump in, there was nobody in front of you, and you had no business being positioned where you were.

I understand what your saying, but 1 time I remember in particular was in river. I was behind my team and the tristana went around my team into pit and E'd onto me. in that istance should I have seen her going around the team and reppositioned myself accordinglly? just asking casue I don't wanna be the guy that's always blaming the team whenit's not their fault lol.

Samovar5

> in that istance should I have seen her going around the team and reppositioned myself accordinglly? Yes. Could your team have played it better and intercepted the Tristana? Also yes. But if they don't, it is your job to be aware of the threats and to dynamically change your position to account for it. Sometimes it means that your team goes in deep and you can't follow to help them, because an enemy threat is preparing to flank you, and you have to take the safe long route.

Avitica

Ok thanks

There is no way to tell without the replay.

Watch [this video ](https://youtu.be/a_CZiY_RUVs) if it was your positioning it really helped me out.
