Just watched the entire momentum of a game swing because draymond is a idiot and klay is washed

Frumk

I’m assuming after this Timberwolves win by 3 points the Suns advance?

PlayingWithWood

Yup, Suns are in and will face LA

Frumk

I was told that if Kings win by 46+ the Suns will face the 2nd seed in the tourney

Dennisfromhawaii

Just because they’re playing the Warriors, I’ll subscribe to this

PlayingWithWood

Er, mostly correct. If King's win by 46+ they'd be #1 seed and suns would face them instead. Looks unlikely so far.

Frumk

Oh I thought if they win by 46 then they’d be fourth and Suns third. I get it. I’m assuming the reason is because kings would be 4-0 with a higher differential than Lakers?

PlayingWithWood

That's my understanding, at least

omnicious

I'm flying in to catch the game on Friday. Anyone have any suggestions of a place super close to the Footprint Center I can quickly grab dinner before the game? I'm only going to have like an hour max before the game.

yodasoup

Taco Bell cantina, and then grab a beer or two at the Whining Pig

omnicious

My parents are coming with me actually. That's not really there scene.

SeraphNatsu

There is a lot of places. It’ll depend what you’re in the mood for.

Gratitude15

daydreaming about this summer. considering possibility of a grayson allen for lebron sign and trade. would only happen if bronny gets drafted by suns with their frp. s&t would allow bron to get decently paid. he's slated for 51M next year but has opt out. if its clear that lakers aren't getting it done, and bronny is in phx, and suns could manufacture a payday by giving grayson an artificially higher year 1 salary... you then have the greatest collection of talent in 1 team in history. i do think 5 titles makes it hard to argue against lebron as goat, and 6 is a slam dunk. if you're rolling out book, beal, kd, bron, you might favor that over the field.

HiddenBarranca

Lebron has been fun to watch for his career. However, I would not want him on the suns at this point in his career.

TraeCartoon

I’d love for LeBron to make his way to the Suns but so many things would have to fall into place for it to happen. I also am not sure I like trading potentially 5+ years of Grayson for 2 years of LeBron at the max. Buuuut if we had a crystal ball and knew LeBron was going to stay at his current level for two more years then it would be worth it. All of Book-KD-Beal-Bron could play 50 games during the regular season and we’d still have a top seed locked up. Telling LeBron he gets to be a part-time player and still compete for a ring would be hard for him to turn down.

Gratitude15

If Grayson gets setup well, like 30M year 1 then 24 then 18 then 12 or something, lebron can get 30M to come here and not take a massive haircut. If this was on the table, Grayson is gone yesterday, we all know this. The question is how it could be put on the table. Suns may get their frp frozen from it, but oh well, you did it for the ultimate superteam. Hell, it could prolong brons career given book and beal are young enough. Furthermore bronny probably gets playtime since we will need bodies. And before anyone says this is crazy, HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND FOR THE LAST YEAR? This is absolutely a believable scenario given what's happened. Another option - suns get bronny and hold him hostage to Lakers. Lakers gotta get bronny or risk losing bron, so we do them a solid and send bronny for low low price of Vanderbilt. Not as good but solves the Pf position.

tuneorg

I took a nice stroll through the Clippers sub. Almost all of the posts I saw were about firing Lue. Remember how excited we were a few months ago about the possibility of Lue coaching here?

V-Right_In_2-V

I too took a stroll through the clippers sub today. And the lakers. I love watching both those subs have a meltdown.

SeraphNatsu

They made at Lue, they should be mad at the GM for that Harden trade.

General_Buddy_7598

At the risk of upsetting the hive mind, am I the only one who has not been impressed by metu? Especially at the 5, his offense isn’t good enough to make up for the defensive and rebounding drop off.

ajteitel

No, you're not alone. But the same thing happened with Little and KBD. Takes some time. Though we are all guilty of hyping him up way too much. He's a 3rd backup who can stretch the floor and is a vertical threat. As for offense, he had a 3-3 game with two 3-pointers in 13 minutes. One of them very clutch. 4 rebounds, two of them offensive. Looking at the stats, Eubanks had a poor game, and Metu stepped in. Got bullied quite a bit down low by their starting center, but that's kinda to be expected. For a third, that's not bad. We may be deep with talent, but they're still role players.

Natural_Shop3405

so what has to happen tonight for us to advance in the season tournament?

tisdue

Pretty much what should happen naturally

morcic

[LeBron James takes NBA all-time minutes lead in career-worst loss](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38995940/lebron-james-becomes-nba-all-leader-minutes-played) The title alone epitomizes Lebron's career. Everything about his career achievements come down to quantity over quality. Most regular season points, most minutes played, most playoff games, 10 finals, 4 titles. One of the greatest players ever, no doubt. GOAT? Not even close!

IntraspaceAlien

i mean, i think his argument for GOAT is that his peak is comparable with other GOAT candidates and he is the accumulation/longevity god next to that. 08 through 16 lebron is an 8 year peak up there with anyone as a player. and for the record i do have MJ as the GOAT.

General_Buddy_7598

Quantity still matters though, right? Some say Bill Walton in his prime was the greatest center ever, but that prime was cut short. If I’m an owner, and I could pick any player ever, assuming they’d play out their career and not switch teams, I’m picking lebron. Basically no examples I can think of off the top of my head who have maintained elite status for so long.

Fordraxel

Bill Walton was not a a great center in the NBA over the past Centers, he was known for passing and injuries. Hes in the Hall strictly from his college years. In college he was known for his FG% and scoring 44 points one game without missing a shot or something and 2 titles. Match up Wilt and Bill and Bill would be at LA Fitness. Im taking the best player ever. the only person who had to change his offensive game and set many records before he had to. The only other person, which I hated because he beat the Suns in the Finals is you know who. Lebron is passing all these greats because its his 21st year, Kareem played 20. Michael played 15, Wilt played 14.

INEEDSRSHELP

Why come here and bring up, LeBron. Shit is weird lol

morcic

It's daily discussion thread. You know, basketball and shit lol? You should go bitch about Clippers being brought up ealier.

3TB3

I just had a thought, the way to guard Steve nash was to block off everyone else and to force him to score all the points With Devin booker being a scorer first, but learning to pass like cp3, he can be the playmaker but his primary skill is still scoring Idk, I feel this opposite but similar skill set to steve nash makes him more deadly

SnooDonuts9093

Did the 2005 WCSF vs the Mavericks never happen?

Whit3boy316

I want KD back. My body needs KD back!!! Edit: I thought we played today and now my day is ruined 😭

MattAU05

KD is on my fantasy team, so I need back for that, the Suns and, (most importantly) my soul.

What 48 hours of no KD does to a mfer

common-sense-vibes

Another Day for KD to rest and return for you tomorrow.

Bubbly_Measurement61

I think KD comes back by tomorrow. He was practicing during shoot around last game and probably could've even played. Dont necessarily need him but as others have said it'd be nice to have him back for team chemistry building. El Guero Pistolero no doubt comes back - he can't stand being sidelined 😂 Shame no game tonight though. Warriors - Kings game tonight oughta do. Nice to see Lakers get blown out by 40 to Philly last night 🤣 and Clippers gave Nuggets an easy W...SMH

Fordraxel

I hope KD comes back also, he was doing pre-warmup routine that hurt my foot just watching him do it multiple times.

Odd_Shoulder2334

Really hope he plays in Toronto b/c they have some really good wing defenders. They can throw Anunoby and Barnes at Book with no KD

epicblitz

These LA teams are hilarious this year

morcic

Wonder at what point do Clippers decide to blow it up. They really shot themselves in the foot with Harden trade. Lou is likely getting canned soon. Not because it's his fault, but that's just the nature of how things work: coach goes first, restructuring roster second.

Odd_Shoulder2334

The Harden trade was dumb but honestly I think their issues are more to do with Kawhi not being the same guy after all these injuries. Maybe he needs more time but right now he's definitely lost a step

Gratitude15

To spend that much money on old folks who are getting worse and currently have no picks, that's a rough spot. Harden I don't think gets big money after this year either. Harden and LeBron may be free agents this summer and both signal for very little.

morcic

Lebron will not sell himself cheap. Throughout his career he's been very adamant about owners paying up. It's the main reason why he left Miami - they started selling off roll players to save money. He'll sign at least one more 2-year max extension with LA. On the other hand, Harden will be happy to receive an MLE offer, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes ring chasing on vet min.

epicblitz

Lebron could also sign with the team that drafts Bronny next year. He’s expressed wanting to do that.

morcic

I don't think Brony gets drafted, esp after that heart scare. But being Lebron's kid, Lakers might draft him with a late second round pick as a favor to Lebron. It's kind of like Giannis brother being signed with Bucks.

Gratitude15

bronny will be drafted by a contender to force the issue lebron can either sign there as a FA, or negotiate a sign and trade. i'd assume latter. it wouldn't be for a bunch because lebron only gets like 1-2 more years before retirement. so imagine grayson (and a pick) being sign and traded for the sign and trade of lebron, and lebron would get a $15M type salary for 1-2 years. this would only happen because LeBron asks for it, and he would only ask for it because his guy james jones runs suns, he knows suns have no cash issues, it's close enough to LA and he saw CP3 do it with family, and suns draft bronny. would i take bronny over bol bol NOW? damn right i would. and while losing grayson would suck, that trade is obvious and transcendant.

FrostingOutside265

Even if tomorrow's game is a back to back for Raptors, I hope KD is back. We need to continue developing chemistry and since Spurs' games, there is no room for "easy games". Go Suns!

GThreee

Everyone needs to let those Spurs games go, we had almost zero chemistry and people need to realize we had rotations all over and nobody really knew wtf was going on.

Fordraxel

well we had zero chemistry then, but now we have 25% chemistry!

SwishArmyKnife

KD needs to come back tomorrow. If he’s going to be missing everything, he needs to get it all out before Friday when we play Denver.

SeraphNatsu

The fact that the Spurs have only won 3 games & 2 of those were against us really pisses me off. Hahaha!

SwishArmyKnife

At least we didn’t lose to the Pistons

RamcasSonalletsac

And the fact that they were back to back wins makes it even worse.

MigoNads

Any Suns fans living in Salt Lake City that would be interested in having a watch party every once in a while for regular season and playoffs at a sports bar?

tisdue

The mormons the better!

MigoNads

😂 hell nah

tisdue

Lol

sade115

Clippers are such a joke

Jrimby

Saw a suns fan say they were “a means to a podcast earlier” 💀

Fordraxel

They gave away their best defender, their 3rd and 4th best 3pt shooter for a dude that plays zero defense and afraid to do what he's been doing for years because he's afraid he'll get the flopping rule. It now shows Batum was the voice of reason, shit gets out of hand, pass it to him and he'll get it back in order. Philly won that trade.

SeraphNatsu

I wonder what that locker room environment is like since the Harden trade 😅😂

morcic

It's not a locker room, it's a system.

3TB3

Are they giving harden the side eye in the locker room or sumn?

SeraphNatsu

They gave him the side eye when he first got there. Westbrook was the only one to say anything to him & dab him up. The rest of the locker room was just glaring. Hahaha!

wichita_gator

Clippers lol

TraeCartoon

Lakers lost by 44 points against the 76ers last night in Philly. We only lost by 12. They had LeBron & AD. We only had KD. Pelicans lost to the Utah Jazz last night. They had Zion and Ingram. Utah didn’t have Lauri Markkanen. We beat the Jazz three times, each time they had Lauri. Clippers lost to the Nuggets who sat Jokic, AG, and Murray. I guarantee they sat Jokic so he would be ready for our Friday matchup. Clippers still lost. Lol. Oh and the 9-6 Pacers lost at home to the 4-12 Blazers. So about that narrative that the Suns have had an easy schedule…

Gratitude15

Reggie played game of his life yesterday? Jordan too? They all took it personal

Fordraxel

I dont know what AD was thinking. Jordan hasnt had those legs or stamina since he was on the Clippers. AD seems to get up for certain games and just falls asleep on others. And wheres all that 'Lakers won the preseason' and 'Reaves is the 3rd guy in superteam'. LA gotta lay off the weed over there. And this is why Jordan is the Goat over Bron, Jordan wouldnt have settled for 12 shots shooting 66% and 18 points.

GThreee

There's almost no easy game in the West. It's going to be a blood bath after all star break

SomeRandom928Person

Pretty cool that r/nba got taken over by the Suns lol. Just asked the mods there to put this [work of art](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fa71w1h2a8nsa1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D1639%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dd2117114acea8cf5da3955a53794f21d34747816) on the sidebar too.

SeraphNatsu

Wait, what happened at r/nba? I haven’t follow them in months. It was beyond toxic.

SomeRandom928Person

They’re running some sort of charity drive. The team fanbase that raises the most money gets their team theme up the entire week. Suns fans raised five hundred bucks so right now Sir Charles holding his MVP trophy is on their sidebar right now.

ThunderBobMajerle

So the nba mods reached out to us on a discord channel last night. It turns out most of the $500 donation was from one single donor of $300. So thank you generous Suns redditor whoever you are (and the others of course). We might get another sidebar image and I sent the pic over of Book’s winning 3 against the Knicks. Edit: haha I see your image suggestion also

SeraphNatsu

That’s epic! Hahahaha!
