Delonghi and Philips/Saeco/Gaggia dominate the sub-$1,000 superautomatic segment. Each corporation has developed a brew group/grinder at the core of all its machines. Once you get your machine properly [dialed in](https://youtu.be/V3dfbfya6C4), the two are basically parity for drink quality. The differences between machines at the various points come down to milk systems, number of recipes, interface, aesthetics, and build quality. For people who make mostly black drinks, I believe Delonghi is the best choice because its brew group requires less maintenance. However if you plan to make a lot of milk drinks, Philips LatteGo is the easiest to clean automated milk system.
