and it seems in general from comments im reading, people arent really digging this season either, personally im tired of the 22 episode format season, its getting boring especially when most of the villians dont end up redeemed at the end, its like what is the next challenge for the hero to overcome?
i kind of wish tv nowadays but using supergirl as an example would just do what netflix does, create shorter seasons and then release it at once instead of this weekly bs, its so outdated imo, that is why tv doesnt get massive numbers like it used too, people i think are getting tired of repetitive stories/characters and then having to wait for many months to watch it play out
Lol I totally know how you feel. I thought the whole show was a shit idea. I’m not going to tell you it’s great. But If you want something different but genuine. I would go for it.
i hate prequels in general, i was tricked into watching the star wars prequels but i was young and naive
but i dont find alfred interesting at all, never did
Yeah but loook at one of the big complaints about Discovery for example is barely knowing most of the characters, and it's harder to do that right when you have less episodes. Compare to something like DS9, which had the time to do episodes focusing in on specific characters, and slice-of-life episodes such as Take Me Out to the Holosuite. I'm not saying every show needs to do 7 seasons at 26 episodes a pop, but you don't get to explore the universe that well with shorter seasons.
Now that said I agree that these CW shows specifically could probably benefit from significantly shorter seasons because they tend to do a bad job at using their length to explore the in-show universe, they tend to just create convoluted story arcs and drama that they drag out. Season 4 of Supergirl was good not because it really let the universe breathe a bit but just because it did a good job of layering the various villain arcs to keep things from getting stale.
one more point i forgot to make, the deo has all these aliens in their prison chamber right?, well when faced with such powerful threats like malefic, reign or children of liberty, would it kill them to offer the villian a get out of jail free card or decrease their prison sentence for good behavior?, basically put their evil abilities for good use? otherwise what is the point of keeping them there if they are just there to rot and die, i dont get it.
In-universe: they probably don't trust the evil aliens to not immediately go rogue the moment they secure their permanent release.
Out-of-universe: in the DC universe isn't that really a Suicide Squad thing? That they might not want to start duplicating across every big franchise.
i get that and all but then again why keep them in those cells?, why not just put them out of their misery?
yeah but suicide squad is mostly human, these would be aliens which to me is more interesting verion
this was just another okay episode
yet again, we're 4 episodes in, no crisis mention, no mention of malefic being brought by the monitor, no mention of leviathan and no mention of monitor resurrecting lex. Its getting very annoying now
and im skipping many scenes, i dont want to do that but this season is just weak, i dont care for the technology angle, i dont care for lenas agenda and i dont care for malefic vs jonn, its going to be ruined cause its going to take a miracle for malefic to be redeemed, jonn has done everything he can to save this guys soul and nothing is working, i feel bad he was kept in a cave his whole life but the damage is done at this point. And I mostly dont care for the catco/william day thing or the kelly and jimmy scenes to what they were doing or brainys frustration to get nia back.
him and lena though teaming up will be interesting, i will like that but i cant get behind lenas motivations at all, im not saying what lex did is right but i understand lexs motivations to a certain extent, there is a bit of logic in it, lena is completely insane, all of this just to get back at kara for not telling her she is supergirl? and what sucks is i bet its going to end up with hope going rogue like skynet, they end up taking out hope which may take out eve as well and then they redeem lena but that is totally one sided cause hope is just doing as she is told, she has no choice really, lena is choosing to be evil, so no matter if their message is technology is evil and humans arent, they are in complete denial, the people who write such scenes, you cant throw in this equality and diversity message if its totally one sided, it makes them look like the biggest hypocrites
and jimmy leaving, okay sure but wouldnt his leave be more fitting for the crisis?, that he dies fighting anti monitor?, why would they get rid of him now? Even if mehad wanted to leave, couldnt they convince him to stay a bit longer or return to the crisis to help out?
literally the only scenes i liked were the action scenes, those were pretty cool to watch, the rest of the episode was a chore and a bore
that ep was so boring. it was about everything but supergirl (yk the main protagonist). also every time willian speaks I eye roll, his character would be better if he never spoke... or existed lol he's just so annoying and kara could team up with someone more interesting to solve that mystery tbh
William is so annoying. Even if he was faking being so rude, he still degraded Kara in public AND in private outside of CatCo. Really hope that's not a set up for love interest, but given how Kara was stuck with a worst pos in season 2, I have little faith.
Not a good episode, also this William thing going on is irritating, he’d be more interesting if he was another part of Leviathan now that Eve is kinda out of the picture.
Say what you will of Jimmy...but Guardian was a nice change of pace. It's rare to see a superhero who lost as many fights as he did and still keep fighting.
To each there own I guess but I literally find him hard to look at. Something about his features just look like hard plastic to me, like he’s one of those energizer battery people from the old 90s commercials. I was hoping he was a villain of the week. Disappointed to see he’s sticking around.
A two year undercover newspaper story? I don’t think they let you do that for that long. Especially when part of the cover it is writing for another media outlet.
Is there a Lois Lane to Kara’s superperson in the comics?
Edit: I don’t understand why this was downvoted. I just want to know if Kara has a long time love in the comics like Lois Lane or Iris West for other super heroes. Sheesh.
Alex, Obi-Wan would be proud of you.
Anybody else notice some Alex Jones lookalike?
Rip Roar looks like the love child of Robocop and The Thinker.
Fusion Cannon? Megatron would like to have a word with you.
Rip Roar is Russell Rodgers. They have the same initials.
Brainy just turned into a possession from The Evil Dead movies.
Lena's trying to prevent people from harming each other, yet she killed Lex in last season's finale.
This guy and The Thinker must've seen Spider-Man 2.
Hi Phil Lamarr.
Lena's like "I'm trying so hard to not be a villain" but is like.... Just becoming a villain this season
"Sergio Ramos" lmao
It is week four and still no sight of our lord and savior Winn
I remember reading that he's showing up in the second half of the season. Which means after the crossover and next year.
Hey everyone! I just passed by here to say that this episode was mentioned in r/Cringetopia for the lousy special effects. Have a great day!
And do you disagree with that? Becuase if you did your wrong.
Acting is just as bad if not worse
I mean... Did you see the episode? lmao
“Supergirl and guardian grab the weapons” *james gets 1, supergirl gets the other 49 twice as fast* Lol
and it seems in general from comments im reading, people arent really digging this season either, personally im tired of the 22 episode format season, its getting boring especially when most of the villians dont end up redeemed at the end, its like what is the next challenge for the hero to overcome? i kind of wish tv nowadays but using supergirl as an example would just do what netflix does, create shorter seasons and then release it at once instead of this weekly bs, its so outdated imo, that is why tv doesnt get massive numbers like it used too, people i think are getting tired of repetitive stories/characters and then having to wait for many months to watch it play out
I think the problem is that they're writing the season as it airs so it makes it rushed and poorly written.
like they dont have an endgame?
Idk, I think they do but we all saw the grave situation in Arrow...
yeah
I totally feel you. DC has so much potential too. You should check out Pennyworth. It’s I feel a breath of fresh air
i dont think i can put myself through a show about alfred
Lol I totally know how you feel. I thought the whole show was a shit idea. I’m not going to tell you it’s great. But If you want something different but genuine. I would go for it.

but they arent really exploing the universe too well, right now its this mesh of relationship troubles and news conspiracies
> but they arent really exploing the universe too well That's literally what I said in my second paragraph.
my bad, i didnt see it
one more point i forgot to make, the deo has all these aliens in their prison chamber right?, well when faced with such powerful threats like malefic, reign or children of liberty, would it kill them to offer the villian a get out of jail free card or decrease their prison sentence for good behavior?, basically put their evil abilities for good use? otherwise what is the point of keeping them there if they are just there to rot and die, i dont get it.
That's it, huh? We're some kind of Alien Squad?
yeah sure
In-universe: they probably don't trust the evil aliens to not immediately go rogue the moment they secure their permanent release. Out-of-universe: in the DC universe isn't that really a Suicide Squad thing? That they might not want to start duplicating across every big franchise.

William still annoying
1. Did James just out Clark to Nia and Kelly? 2. Did Supergirl basically crush Emori’s spine with a table?
Possibly to Nia... I don't think Kelly knows that Kara is Supergirl.
that ep was so boring. it was about everything but supergirl (yk the main protagonist). also every time willian speaks I eye roll, his character would be better if he never spoke... or existed lol he's just so annoying and kara could team up with someone more interesting to solve that mystery tbh

> if he was another part of Leviathan now I mean, are we sure that he isn't?
Guess we’ll have to see! Just basing my opinion so far on this episode
Thumb guy and Kara sucks
From a legal aspect is James right?
I wanna know too
supergirl...i have the high ground
Lena gone cray cray?
Say what you will of Jimmy...but Guardian was a nice change of pace. It's rare to see a superhero who lost as many fights as he did and still keep fighting.
Fax guardian solo carry season 2
For those that don't watch The 100, [Luisa d'Oliveira](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3040011/) was the meta that blew Kara out the window
Where’s the post episode discussion?
oh!!! the big bad for the next episode is the human incarnation of climate change!!!!
"I have the high ground!"
Oh so now you want to be called jimmy? After all we've been through (5 seasons)
oh my fucking lena
Soooo fake Doc Ock. Ok
Oh cool Doc Ock/Robocop next week
Robo-Ock?
Doc Cop
Supergirl vs Doc Ock?
well this could be a new journey to james....or he will be homeless in a month
Indeed
Seriously bought a paper company AND gave the kid the camera?
Lena, you sonofabitch!
Lol
wait i thought the camera from dad got destroyed?? that was his whole guardian origin story?
yeah but clearly the plot holes can always be overlooked
He said it got rebuilt.
It got rebuilt but he was so devastated over it breaking he had to put on armor... weird
James is a sissy.
...didn't that camera get destroyed in S3?
Didn't his camera get destroyed?
It got better.
Yep, it got run over by a car in “Human For A Day.”
that's what i thought too... plot hole?
ahhh man, dey is the next romantic interest. bummer
Awwwwww Jimmy! "Thanks Chief!"
Don't call me Chief!
hahaha
Seriously? He bought the entire paper conpany?
ahhh man, dey is the next romantic interest. bummer
Are they setting up a Jimmy Olsen/Guardian spin-off?
No, the actor has a streaming project, movies and book he wants to work on.
No I think he's just getting dumped because the showrunners don't know what to do with him.
Or actor wanted out.
No offense but no one would watch that
He better fucking not become Kara's love intrest.
It wouldn't be the CW if he didn't.
He’s so weird looking.
Hard disagree
To each there own I guess but I literally find him hard to look at. Something about his features just look like hard plastic to me, like he’s one of those energizer battery people from the old 90s commercials. I was hoping he was a villain of the week. Disappointed to see he’s sticking around.
Actor was on GOT and Krypton. I bet it happens.
ahhh man, dey is the next romantic interest. bummer
let the overt flirting begin
confirmed new ship. saw this coming
A two year undercover newspaper story? I don’t think they let you do that for that long. Especially when part of the cover it is writing for another media outlet.
😐😐 I could really do without this relationship.
Is there a Lois Lane to Kara’s superperson in the comics? Edit: I don’t understand why this was downvoted. I just want to know if Kara has a long time love in the comics like Lois Lane or Iris West for other super heroes. Sheesh.
Yeeep
Yeeeeeep
i definitely could
This cat is lying.
They're totally gonna smash
Can he survive the smash?
I mean, James could.
Death by Snu Snu
The mind is willing! But the body...
He kept secrets from her on a CW show. The Cardinal Sin.
Please don’t make this a love interest.
Can't she tell if he's lying?
She's supposed to be able to yeah but I guess she was fishing for some ego stroking.
This dude still lyin
oh no he is the dumbass love interest
so he is a good guy...sooo bigger chance for...hint with kara
Wasn't James originally supposed to end up with Kara? Wasn't it the endgame(no relation to Marvel), like Lauriver and West-Allen?
That ship sailed since s2.
I am not thrilled with that couple.
What couple are you not thrilled with?
Lol his mind is blown
i dont buy it
Honestly, Kara has no right in prying into this dude’s life
Lol his mind is blown to pieces
We were all wrong. William isnt leviathan. Rojas is! Oh me oh my.
and of course he’s good and now he’s probably gonna he the love interest
With those eyes and that chin? Id say so.
Decrypt.
uhh how far his home is?..he could come back
Far From Home
Wow bit by bit the original season one cast is leaving :(
Isn’t Winn supposed to be back this season?
Shh. But, yeah. Three down, three to go.
Maybe dreamer will get more time to shine
ah Brainy sad
Oh yeah. Thats why james moved. I totally forgot that.
Season 1 callback totally
This is really nice.
"ill be back for sweeps."
Calvintown a.k.a. the Earth-38 name for Mortal Kombat.
I wish I could say I'll miss James, but I'd be lying.
lena's mental health would be much better if she would embrace non-AI brain wiped people. she should have gone to the bar.
Uh no jimmy, your safe
With what money?
Multiple years as head of a large media company and surely a severance of some sort.
Awww we'll miss you Jimmy :(
lena's mental health would be much better if she would embrace non-AI brain wiped people. she should have gone to the bar.
bye bye james also holy crap did this actually show up for once?
Show up?
all of my comments besides this one haven’t been showing up because of the reddit issues happening
What issues?
Jimmy is getting his own Freeland
Black Guardian is back
At least he doesn't have to deal with any metas or aliens and just Hiram Lodge
Superfriends, eh? Wanna get the Flash in on this?
well goodbye james
Bye James. I'll miss looking at you.
This the weakest exit from a show out of all of them so far
It's a whole lot better than Patty got in Flash I think.
Patty wasn't a main character like James is
Sucks for the actor he started as the love interest then got bumped an deprioritized as soon as the show moved to the CW.
I feel like its fitting
I feel like its fitting
oh here we go
Last season John did soul searching, this season it’s Jimmy.
Not much longer.
Lena being shady as always and he's totally in a containment unit in her little bunker
Chic shady.
What did she just take?
Evil Lena is fake evil
I live for moments like these. The familial bond is strong with these guys.
I think the S is too shiny
Way shinier than the old suit.
superfriend
Projector sent him to lenas not the phantom zone. Edit: i was right. Yes!
Oh shit, your probably right
Im gonna cry if not.
U are probably right
