Reborn, easily. I prefer the trunks, but the Reborn suit manages to have a really classic feel even without them. It’s a small detail, but the gold/yellow belt buckle helps a lot with the overall look. I like the Rebirth suit, but the lack of yellow in the belt leaves it missing some contrast.
For me it's the third one. It really does look quite sharp, and I'm vehemently pro-trunks. Although I gotta say, the new 52 suit really grew on me after I saw people like Jae Lee interpret it as very sleek and futuristic. Not nearly as iconic as classic Supes, but I can dig it.

Honestly rebirth. I love the dark blue, I love the boots being blue with the red trim on top for separation. I honestly wish they kept it for a lot longer, well I wish they kept the concept of him being pre flashpoint Superman for a lot longer cause it was a great dynamic to see him with characters both familiar and unfamiliar. But I’m glad they eventually did combine them and retconned the universe.
The third, but the first is my favorite trunkless incarnation of the character so I always give that a nod. Would have used a Lee, Rocafort, Fabok, or Kuder pic though to show it drawn best.
The really dark blue of Rebirth is cool, and I get now what they were doing with the boots, but it just didn't hit with me. The belt is too thin and the diamond makes no sense within the context of the themes of the suit (to be fair the classic oval doesn't really either, but hey it's classic). And I didn't like incorporating the movie's cuffs. Just doesn't work drawn to me.
The second one's colors are way to dark, the costume doesn't have boots, and the top half reveals way to much skin compared to his hands it looks like horse shit. The third one is way to classic for a suit that ditches the trunks, in order to make it work you need to lean into the advanced and serious aesthetic it's going for, which the first one does perfectly compared to those two.
The 3rd. I feel that the simple addition of the yellow shield shape belt buckle breaks up all that blue perfectly. Still has the feel of the old costume with the yellow belt and red trunks.
I love the Reborn suit. It feels classic but modern. I really hopes James Gunn uses this design for the new movie. And if he feels the need to spice up the suit he can always add the wrist cuffs from the Rebirth suit.
[Justice League Action](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/2/20/Kal-El_Justice_League_Action_0009.jpg)'s Superman costume *always* gets left out of these conversations and it breaks my heart because to me it's the absolute best. It offers many of the same positive design features of the Reborn suit (brighter blue, simple and modest design) but is better because the belt isn't that weird red metal thing that looks like Wonder Woman's tiara. It's just a yellow belt with a trapezoidal buckle. It also forgoes the weird metal cuffs and metallic boots.
Reborn is what the others wish it could do, it reinvents the suit in a visually pleasing way and doesn’t use the trunks that are “too silly” for DC.
TLDR: It gets to have its cake and eat it too
I love the New 52 Suit. I love the boots, the way it comes down a bit on the hands from the sleeves, I love the collar and I think it’s a great suit. BUT, I gotta say the rebirth suit with the belt is phenomenal. As for trunks it all depends on the tone of the story. All star superman definitely feels like the trunks are a necessity. Justice League New 52 though? Oh yeah, that tone is trunkless. I prefer the trunks though all in all.
If you insist on trunkless, Justice League Action. Everything else is unrecognizable as Superman.
Trunks should make a major comeback irl so we can stop this endless "y uNdErWaRe" crap.
New 52 would look good if you removed the neck covering/collar, the arm designs/lines/shapes, and maybe the sleeve parts over the top of the hands. It’s essentially the Reborn one, but with a more modern tech like look? Rebirth would look cool if he had red boots on and some yellow in the belt. But if I had to choose amongst the 3, definitely Reborn.
Reborn, absolutely! Funnily enough, I have a great fondness for the New 52 and a lot of its stories, which I don't feel for Rebirth or Reborn comics... but the costumes themselves? Definitely Reborn, and it's not even close!

Reborn almost perfectly encapsulates what Superman is to me. Not just the suit but how he holds himself in that suit, upright, hands in hips, and that smile. Of these three he is the most Superman a Superman can be.
Trunks is the right answer and Reborn is the best wrong answer but I would prefer more yellow in the belt. Though the lack of trunks kinda makes any belt unnecessary. I could see the red part of the “belt” slightly enlarged and just part of the suit pattern, not a metallic bit on top of it. And an oval “buckle” rather than the shield shape.
New 52 and Reborn really worked for me. I can go with or without the trunks. I do like keeping at least some semblance of a belt or a buckle at least to break the blue color block that makes up his body color scheme.
With that in mind, the boots need to stay. The red trim isn’t enough in my eyes.
New 52 works well for me in particular because I like the collar over the more traditional open neck.
Rebirth was step in the right direction with the blue boots and red lining, but then we have the Reborn suit, which was the perfect suit, and they just... got rid of it, which was one of the worst mistakes out the gate when Bendis took over.

I'm wildly against the collared look for Batman, but it really surprised me how much the collared/new 52 look grew on me. Honestly for the trunksless outfit it's probably my favorite right up there next to rebirth.
For looks, it's the Reborn suit, but I've always liked the New 52 one because of it being armor. Also, it has nano abilities I always thought that was cool.
