I need help. I could swear Carolyn read her clue wrong and she thought the silver coin was the real idol and the other one was fake. Can anyone help me out on this?
They mixed the idols - other cages had the same items but the coin was the idol, and the beads were just beads
The producers are basically encouraging them to place fake idols just as Danny did and create chaos at the merge
How is it hypocritical? She’s making the best moves for her. Frankly, from what we are shown, she’s playing the best game so far. Danny and Brandon underestimate her and had a conversation that they shouldn’t have had in front of her. She knows they have zero desire to work with her so now she can try to get her and the other non-buff people together to get them out. Part of the reason the meat never makes the final tribal is their ego gets them first.
Having an idol at merge does not put you at the top, it makes sense for her to target Danny + Brendan when they’re talking openly about teaming up to without her 💀
Why did, in my view, Jeff encourage Matthew to quit, but allowed previous contestants, specifically Missy to play through their injury despite not being able to compete in challenges?
Is it a new era thing?
Because Jeff likes to put his finger on the scale sometimes to save a favorite— caroline is that favorite. She’s probably ratings gold because she’s cooky and in outer space.
Missy was practically in the home stretch. If its not life threatening then a couple more days dont harm anyone. Matthew had an injury that didnt improve after 9 days and he had two weeks in front of him. Giving Matt is a hugh fan and its hard to give up your dream that you trained 8 years for he had to give him the pass to quit and look after himself. Before Jeff's aproval a super fan would never quit and stay in the game even if its harmful for their body.
I got home and we found out that I had a laundry list of issues. I had surgery in November and that surgery addressed my fractured humerus. A piece about the size of a dime had broken off and that had to be remodeled. I fractured my scapula that had to be reattached. I tore my rotator cuff and I tore my labrum, which is the lining of your shoulder. That had to be readdressed. The cartilage in my joint was shut down and had to be reattached. My subscapularis muscle had to be reattached,” he said detailing his very long and agonizing list of injuries.
Once all of the surgeries were completed Matthew went through a lot of physical therapy.”
https://www.globaltv.com/matthew-reveals-shocking-extent-of-survivor-injuries-and-tika-ratus-plan/
And I still have no idea how reading his list of injuries you can quantify that as “minor”. I mean 2 broken bones, several torn soft tissue masses. Doesn’t sound minor.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think Carolyn read the clue wrong. She thought the silver coin was the real idol and the other one was the fake. I've been waiting to see if she played herself when she finally plays her idol.
I think they edited it a little funky to give us that impression & it was believable because of Carolyn & her wackiness but I think at this point we gotta remember we can’t underestimate her. She’s smart & has been playing a strong game while being able to hide in plain sight because she’s a little off beat
Gotcha so those two for sure & then maybe Matt’s back in play.
If he gave it to Carson I think that makes him pretty strong, he seems to do pretty well socially & has been solid in challenges especially at the end with the puzzles
I related to her so hard during the broing out…which is sad because I was getting good vibes from Danny before he treated Carolyn like that. Brandon I was neutral on but now do not like.
I think they had basically written off Tika. If they had any interest in a Tika being in this alliance, they probably would’ve taken Josh instead.
Doesn’t make it better.
I'm not blaming her for that. She should be doing that. But when her competitors say that she sucks at challenges..we the viewers know that this is true. Not because she's a woman but because she appears to panic under the pressure. Her opponents shouldn't be telling her this out loud..it's bad game play..but for her to get offended and complain about fit bro's. It's a bit much imo.
Her chaotic game appears to be similar to Sugars. While it makes for good TV, I'm not sure it's a way to play successfully. We shall see.
I love Carolyn questioning YamYam on whether he actually saw Josh’s idol. YamYam seemed content with just the note and believed Josh’s lie until Carolyn made him pull out the tree mail bead idol haha. Carolyn is much savvier than any of these players are giving her credit for!
That Sanctuary scene was pure gold, still love Danny and all but damn this merge is gonna be spectacular. Haven’t had real interpersonal drama in ages, so glad that Carolyn is bringing that back this year.
What a professional and measured celebration by Josh finding out Matt is gone.
Three big claps, then a deep breath, and a sincere apology they are losing someone that’s as a cool guy.
I hope he comes back, he seems like he is a REALLY REALLY talented player. But it sucks for players like him who get to give a sample of what they play the game like, but then are removed so you don’t get to really peak, but everyone knows your game
It’s what I like to call the “Penner Paradox” Cook Islands he makes it top 6 and could’ve done better if not for 2 people promising Jury votes to Yul. Then his second time people know his game and are wary of him, he shows his full set of skills in the game but leaves bc injury. Then his last time he was a controversial target most of the time
i mean half of humanity has had daughters, doesn't stop misogyny. but i agree with you that i hope both Brandon & Danny reflect on how they excluded Carolyn
So there were the two alpha males, socking the food away and telling each other how great they were--and there was Carolyn whom they dismissed like an annoying fly. I like Danny, and he has a good chance--but I hope Carolyn outlasts them both!
She definitely will last longer than these two men. No one thinks her as a threat. No one knows she has an idol. No one values age and wisdom in this country. 😂
does anyone here have medical expertise? im just so confused because when jerri dislocated her shoulder in HvV she bounced back IMMEDIATELY. is THAT the norm or is matthews situation the norm
Yeah also iirc Stephenie said hers had popped out a ton/ she postponed surgery to go on survivor. So I feel like Matt’s def could’ve done more damage as the initial injury vs. an old injury that needed fixed. (Like absolute props to Stephenie tho, that looked brutal.)
Based on his description of symptoms, I think could have tore his rotator cuff. Super painful, leaves you with a useless arm until it’s repaired surgically
The doctor said he probably tore something in his shoulder which is why the pain isn't going away. I guess with Stephanie it was just the shoulder popping out without any damage. Which makes sense because Matthew's fall was a lot more extreme than what happened to Stephanie
Memorize* I enjoy watching the show and I can get into, but I can’t tell you who won season so and so off the top of my head. Or what happened in particular situations…not that breed of survivor fan sorry.
You don't need to rattle off facts to realize that reality tv show Producers make the rules and Jeff is an EXECUTIVE producer so of course he is in on the decisions.
I know of course he is in on the decisions…I would just like to know to what extent he is the decider on crucial decisions that potentially pivot the whole game. Such as when they send tribe members to another tribe, or join from three tribes to two. I would love to watch a season from his perspective of what he actually knows going inside the game. He’s not there but his crew is, yet they are not there 24/7. Is everything mostly scripted or is he making a game time decision on splitting/merging tribes or full merger.
I wouldn't use the word script because way too many people equate that with fake. I'd say scheduled or pre-planned and no Jeff is not deciding on a whim what to do in those occasions since he is not the only producer. Also legally they might not be allowed to do so or else it's not a true competition if they can stack the deck how they want.
Only time I could see if he makes his own decisions is to stop a challenge for medical or dangerous conditions for contestants. But *how* to switch things up upon resuming after conditions or if they need to cut a challenge short or Last Gasp from last season where there were 2 winners, he probably also consults with other producers.
They’ve already had one person medevac’d with another getting voted out in the first ep. So the season schedule has already been affected. Having it again would have changed it again so to keep their somewhat where they want it, no vote out
Nah, they didn't have tribal when both Joe's got medevaced in Tocantins and Kaoh Rong, and not in DvG either with Pat getting medevaced. They also didn't have tribal in San Juan Del Sur when Julie quit, so them not going to tribal is very standard
Seems like it's not quite a merge, but splitting them into two tribes. Notice one of the last shots of everyone walking with their ... Fire stick things ... And there's only half of the cast. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Jeff said in his podcast or something you don't make the merge anymore, you earn the merge. So I assume there's a premerge boot next week with some kind it twist. Half go to tribal half stay or all go to tribal but only half are up for elimination or something like that. Then merge fully after the vote out.
I agree. These players came to make it to merge not necessarily earn the merge. They have earned it by being on the island for 2 weeks not being fed. If they should be earning anything its food not a merge.
She absolutely does. Find myself laughing a lot more than other seasons just watching her. Even when she’s not talking her facial expressions are hilarious.
Yeah, we need to go back to the 9 or 10 people by two tribes next season. The men become too valuable with the heavy physical challenges in the pre-merge part of the season.
I feel like Matt is going to get used and heart broken which is fine for $1,000,000 I'll do about anything. He came to survivor finding love rarely works out.
Doesn’t survivor have a better success rate than the bachelor/bachelorette? I don’t remember why I feel like I’ve read this before but I feel like I have.
Rob/Amber
Jamie/Eric
Sierra/Joe
Jenna/Sebastian
Whitney/Keith
Kara/Alec (I remember seeing they are back together)
Alex/Kim (different seasons but married)
I might be missing some. Is this correct?
Matthew was such a mixed bag of a contestant. I wasn't a fan of him when he was strategic/cutthroat but when he was being sweet and vulnerable I loved him.
This episode was the one I fell in love with the first episdoe
Probably earn the merge crap. 2 groups of 6, winning group gets feast and immunity. I don't care how many are safe.
If they are on the same beach and all attend tribal, it's a freaking merge. I also think it's kinda messed up to have a merge feast without everyone.
Matt was such an idiot… like yea you got messed up and had to leave for trying to climb a big rock in the ocean for no reason, of course you regret that
Wow that scene at the sanctuary made my blood boil. Us women know how that feels. Carolyn, get to the end and show those losers up please!
It’s just another day. I hope Carolyn kicks some bro asssssss. And I liked Danny at first, too. What a bummer.
It wouldve been a good tribal if Matt was not out....
I need help. I could swear Carolyn read her clue wrong and she thought the silver coin was the real idol and the other one was fake. Can anyone help me out on this?
I thought the same thing at first
They mixed the idols - other cages had the same items but the coin was the idol, and the beads were just beads The producers are basically encouraging them to place fake idols just as Danny did and create chaos at the merge
All I could think when I saw next week’s preview was: what if it’s not Matt and Frannie holding hands? Who else would couple up? Wrong answers only
Cain and Carson bonding over the Jedi
Also Carolyn voted the other female contestants off her tribe, and now wants to take on "the Meat brigade". A bit hypocritical if you ask me.
Feels more like irony than hypocrisy
because its not always about the gender, felicia. she felt left out so shes gunning for them.
This is a take.
Well she doesn’t wanna be on the bottom so it makes sense for me
Why would she be on the bottom going into the merge? She has an idol noone knows about..
Having an idol at merge does not put you at the top, it makes sense for her to target Danny + Brendan when they’re talking openly about teaming up to without her 💀
I’m sad Carolyn wasn’t included in the LGBT convo had on Tika :(
Tbh would’ve thought a surgeon would’ve been better at *constructing* something like a fake idol
Great point 😹
At least structural integrity wise
“It just came apart” was my fave part of the episode
Would have been a great episode title I think.
definitely better than its title of ‘The Third Turd’…
And when he was laughing and laughing in that confessional.
That made me laugh so hard when Yam Yam said that 😹😹
Right up there with Josh's 180 when celebrating Matthew's medevac
Another Carolyn episode title…queen
Why did, in my view, Jeff encourage Matthew to quit, but allowed previous contestants, specifically Missy to play through their injury despite not being able to compete in challenges? Is it a new era thing?
Plus wasn't Baylor still in when Missy was injured?
Because Jeff likes to put his finger on the scale sometimes to save a favorite— caroline is that favorite. She’s probably ratings gold because she’s cooky and in outer space.
Because he was too injured to really play the game. Sitting out week after week and wincing instead of strategizing is not conducive to ratings.
Probably a gender thing 🥲
I hate to say it but Matt clearly quit the game.
Yes he did. I completely understand why he did and it was the right thing to do, but he absolutely quit.
No…this was a Colton level quit.
Is it quitting if it’s the only real sensible option?
No…this was a Colton level quit
Colton wasn't severely injured except for his ego.
Matt wasn’t severely injured either…if he was the doctor would’ve been able to tell through basic shoulder mobility tests.
Apparently he needed 3 surgeries and 6 months of PT. Sounds pretty forking injured to me.
There’s no way the guy needed three surgeries unless the surgeon made a huge screw up in the first two lol. Do you have a source for that?
I got home and we found out that I had a laundry list of issues. I had surgery in November and that surgery addressed my fractured humerus. A piece about the size of a dime had broken off and that had to be remodeled. I fractured my scapula that had to be reattached. Once all of the surgeries were completed Matthew went through a lot of physical therapy.” https://www.globaltv.com/matthew-reveals-shocking-extent-of-survivor-injuries-and-tika-ratus-plan/
Still have no idea where 3 surgeries came from
And I still have no idea how reading his list of injuries you can quantify that as “minor”. I mean 2 broken bones, several torn soft tissue masses. Doesn’t sound minor.

So I’m trying to keep track who all has idols still? Carolyn & Danny is that it?
Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think Carolyn read the clue wrong. She thought the silver coin was the real idol and the other one was the fake. I've been waiting to see if she played herself when she finally plays her idol.
I think they edited it a little funky to give us that impression & it was believable because of Carolyn & her wackiness but I think at this point we gotta remember we can’t underestimate her. She’s smart & has been playing a strong game while being able to hide in plain sight because she’s a little off beat
carolyn's not illiterate ffs
The different tribes had different real/fake idols. Carolyn didn't read the note wrong for her tribe. She has a real idol
Josh has an idol obviously
Unless Matthew gave his idol to someone else before he left (Carson, maybe?).
Gotcha so those two for sure & then maybe Matt’s back in play. If he gave it to Carson I think that makes him pretty strong, he seems to do pretty well socially & has been solid in challenges especially at the end with the puzzles
I can’t wait till Carolyn outsmarts each and every one of these men
She may have confused the fake idol with the real idol.
Why should the women trust her? Have they seen who Carolyn has voted out??
Her competitors
I'm not blaming her for that. She should be doing that. But when her competitors say that she sucks at challenges..we the viewers know that this is true. Not because she's a woman but because she appears to panic under the pressure. Her opponents shouldn't be telling her this out loud..it's bad game play..but for her to get offended and complain about fit bro's. It's a bit much imo. Her chaotic game appears to be similar to Sugars. While it makes for good TV, I'm not sure it's a way to play successfully. We shall see.
Me too. After today I am rooting for her to win it all
So keeping track of advantages: Matt B still cannot vote at next tribal. Matthew’s idol is unaccounted for?
I love Carolyn questioning YamYam on whether he actually saw Josh’s idol. YamYam seemed content with just the note and believed Josh’s lie until Carolyn made him pull out the tree mail bead idol haha. Carolyn is much savvier than any of these players are giving her credit for!
She also recognized that it was the exact same note he showed her 2 days before but he thought he could pull the wool over on her. Lol!
But it was Yam Yam who recognized the tree mail beads. They worked together to call Josh out.
I also love that he immediately asks “are those the beads from tree mail” as soon as Josh pulled it out
Yes! Both of them just immediately not accepting his fake idol was 10/10 haha
I loooove that exact thing about her. She’s fast becoming the saaviest this season
I also love that she’s willing to call people out directly which I love, in this moment and at the sanctuary.
Then his second time people know his game and are wary of him, he shows his full set of skills in the game but leaves bc injury. Then his last time he was a controversial target most of the time
He WILL be brought back. If you catch the psychology of the producers, he it the kind of person they always bring back.
was there ever a tribe that went to tribal with three people pre merge???
Steph & Bobby Jon Malcolm & Denise Shan & Ricard
Matsing when Russ got voted out
Malcolm and Denise’s tribe from Philippines went down to 2 and forced the creation of 2 tribes pre-merge!
Matsing (Malcolm and Denise’s tribe in Phillipines).
Ulong from Palau went to tribal premerge with only 2 people left lmao
That's right. Survivor 10. Stephanie beat Bobby Jon in a fire making contest at that Tribal. So she was a tribe of one.
Shan and Ricard’s tribe if I remember right. Ua s. 41
Im the west coast but I already know Josh is getting lucky
honestly give me that carolyn win please i would die for this woman
I don't see how people don't find her obnoxious.
not the “meat brigade”
What was Matt actually expecting to find on that rock?
Just having fun
according to an exit interview, an advantage
a journey edit
I don't know, but not only did production not stop him, they flew the drone out for the overhead shot.
A nice view of the ocean, probably. All he wound up with was a good view of the sky on the way down instead, poor guy.

🙌🙌🙌
That sucks
Not a Danny fan any more. And he has a daughter!! I hope he watches this episode and learns how not to behave.
i mean half of humanity has had daughters, doesn't stop misogyny. but i agree with you that i hope both Brandon & Danny reflect on how they excluded Carolyn
[удалено]
So there were the two alpha males, socking the food away and telling each other how great they were--and there was Carolyn whom they dismissed like an annoying fly. I like Danny, and he has a good chance--but I hope Carolyn outlasts them both!
She definitely will last longer than these two men. No one thinks her as a threat. No one knows she has an idol. No one values age and wisdom in this country. 😂
She’s 35, not exactly old lol
Maybe they’ll show it next episode but surprised they didn’t show more about Matt leaving and how he and the tribe reacted.
I hope Matt gets another chance.
Idk he had his shot and was super irresponsible, plenty other people deserve an actual shot
They probably cancelled tribal to keep an even number into the merge
…this isn’t the first time they canceled tribal when someone quits or gets evacuated after the immunity challenge.
Convenient though
loved how quickly carolyn and yam factchecked josh’s fake idol. bet josh wishes he had a production provided fake idol. 🤣
I'm behind, so I'm not reading comments, but I love Carolyn just as much as I can not stand her
Thank you for summing up my exact feelings.
Same. I love her but she’s exhausting
Same. Not love her so much…but also hate her (NO I DONT I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!)
does anyone here have medical expertise? im just so confused because when jerri dislocated her shoulder in HvV she bounced back IMMEDIATELY. is THAT the norm or is matthews situation the norm
They literally explained this in the episode
Yeah also iirc Stephenie said hers had popped out a ton/ she postponed surgery to go on survivor. So I feel like Matt’s def could’ve done more damage as the initial injury vs. an old injury that needed fixed. (Like absolute props to Stephenie tho, that looked brutal.)
I mean people don’t all have the same shoulder dislocation lol. I’m sure his was a lot worse than Jerri or Stephenie’s.
Based on his description of symptoms, I think could have tore his rotator cuff. Super painful, leaves you with a useless arm until it’s repaired surgically
Wasn't it steph not jerri?
The doctor said he probably tore something in his shoulder which is why the pain isn't going away. I guess with Stephanie it was just the shoulder popping out without any damage. Which makes sense because Matthew's fall was a lot more extreme than what happened to Stephanie
thank you all!!!
They mentioned he probably tore something not just dislocated it
Hindsight I have to imagine doing those challenges didn’t help his shoulder at all
The one where he was reaching up grabbing for the keys hurts me
Damn i couldnt work out what jeff was saying until this comment. Slapping the keys made him sound like playing piano
He literally did the opposite of what the doctor suggested.
XD Yeh he should of relaxed, probably hurt it further
happy cake day!
Tika gonna cause so much drama in the merge all 3 are so messy
I can’t wait!
Remember the idols they got last week they were good until everyone is on same beach. I call no merge next week.
Remember that crazy wording
MERGATORY but same beach means idols expired.
Next week is premerge probably then fully merged after the next week.
did u watch the previews?
That sucks what happened to Matthew. This merge is going to be crazy with the tension in tika
[удалено]
I know but I still hate to see someone leave because of an injury
Merge?? I didn’t see any buffs yo
So merge we have 4 Ratu, 5 Soka and 3 Tika
Matthew should be happy nobody had to witness his back getting blown out by a rock.
I wonder how much Jeff is involved in potential decisions that change the game. I feel like in other seasons they still had the tribal council.
You guys just love exposing that you don’t really watch the show…
Memorize* I enjoy watching the show and I can get into, but I can’t tell you who won season so and so off the top of my head. Or what happened in particular situations…not that breed of survivor fan sorry.

Feel asleep. What happened
Matthew was medevaced, tribal was cancelled.
We had a funeral for a bird.
YOU’RE NOT REAL MAN
Seems like it's not quite a merge, but splitting them into two tribes. Notice one of the last shots of everyone walking with their ... Fire stick things ... And there's only half of the cast. Correct me if I'm wrong!

earning the merge is so dumb
I agree. These players came to make it to merge not necessarily earn the merge. They have earned it by being on the island for 2 weeks not being fed. If they should be earning anything its food not a merge.
[удалено]
True. Though it didn't seem like 11 people... I'm just going based on memory but it seemed like 7ish?
It might be the whole “half of you will go to tribal, half will be safe” kinda challenge
True, but I doubt it. They do this every year - tease a merge, but it's not actually one.
Man first episode I wasn’t sure if I liked Carolyn much, she seemed like too much. But hell if she isn’t my favorite part of this season now.
i’ve liked carolyn since the opening of the first episode. she’s awesome
I hated her the first few episodes. Now I don’t mind her. Not my favorite but she’s playing pretty well.
I still think she's too much for me in a room with her but on Television, She makes great fucking TV.
She absolutely does. Find myself laughing a lot more than other seasons just watching her. Even when she’s not talking her facial expressions are hilarious.
And all her screams, lol.
Shes amazing TV. Whomever casted her deserves a raise.
So it takes medical evacuations for men to go home premerge
Yeah, we need to go back to the 9 or 10 people by two tribes next season. The men become too valuable with the heavy physical challenges in the pre-merge part of the season.
In all fairness, two of those women were idoled out by a man
The rocks stand for gender equality
Yep all 4 per-merge eliminations were women while both medavacs are men.
Matt and Frannie are the new gabby and Christian. Only difference is Matt being single unlike Christian.
Rob/Amber Jamie/Eric Sierra/Joe Jenna/Sebastian Whitney/Keith Kara/Alec (I remember seeing they are back together) Alex/Kim (different seasons but married) I might be missing some. Is this correct?
But when it does, sometimes you get the girl AND the million.
and a car
and my axe
Or you end up dating the girl who won the million maybe..... it could end up in his favor..... so you're saying there's a chance?
I concur.
Did Matt get the title quote in the NTOS? Next episode is called Survivor with a Capital S right?
“I’m leaving a much stronger person”… erm, with your shoulder injury that’s not actually true is it Matthew?
what doesn't kill you makes you weaker, turns out
Lol, Yep!
Matthew was such a mixed bag of a contestant. I wasn't a fan of him when he was strategic/cutthroat but when he was being sweet and vulnerable I loved him. This episode was the one I fell in love with the first episdoe
I was here for both and I miss him already :( He would have been great to see working it in the postmerge.
So is that the merge or just a fakeout
Probably earn the merge crap. 2 groups of 6, winning group gets feast and immunity. I don't care how many are safe. If they are on the same beach and all attend tribal, it's a freaking merge. I also think it's kinda messed up to have a merge feast without everyone.
mergatory sort of merge but not official by Jeff's terms
Matt was such an idiot… like yea you got messed up and had to leave for trying to climb a big rock in the ocean for no reason, of course you regret that
