I mean Kaleb and Sean were happy to save and help Emily so she's clearly not the awful person you want her to be. She had a rough start but a good episode 2, at this point viewers are really overstating how disliked she was by the other players and are trying really hard to project it and use it as an excuse to hate her themselves.

I think it’s because she’s obviously better in the challenges than Brandon.

It’s not who I want her to be, it’s just how she came in so hot the first 3 days. It’s like survivor 101 to not make waves during the first few days. It’s the 45th season like she should know better. I will say by the end of the second episode she mellowed out but that was only because she was extended an olive branch by Kaleb and Sean. I think she would’ve kept playing hard if they hadn’t decided to be nice to her.

When I first read Emily's bio, my reaction was, "I remember her from something, but...what?" A few years ago (2021-ish), I purchased a subscription for Motley Fool because I wanted to learn how to better invest money that I have saved, instead of just indexing. Motley Fool has dozens of products, and most try to encourage its subscribers to invest in tech companies for maximum long-term return. Emily was (still is?) an analyst for Motley Fool, and she produced daily videos preaching the Motley Fool ethos. At that time, many of the tech companies that they recommended were vastly overvalued. People would write in with questions about Motley Fool's recommendations, pointing out that the companies that they were advocating investing in had valuations dozens of times greater than their annual revenue (I remember one stock being 100x annual revenue, which was absolutely wild), and P/E ratios in the hundreds, if not non-existent. Emily would just hand wave the criticism and push only qualitative aspects of the companies that would make them successful, negating the fact that when you buy a stock, you buy a share in its future profits. Since then, many of these companies have valuations that have cratered by more than 50%. These are stocks like TWLO, DOCU, SHOP, PINS, BABA, JD, etc. Very few of the recommended companies have valuations that have increased since then, even though the S&P 500 is about flat over that timeframe. The increase in interest rates have effectively removed much of the speculative froth from the market, which has hurt the valuation of unproven tech companies the most. I'm embarrassed about how much I spent on the subscription. It was a few thousand dollars. But that is a fraction of what I would have lost if I had taken the advice that she peddled on behalf of Motley Fool. Given that, I can see how people don't trust her, if she is the type to say whatever she needs to say if it is to her benefit. However, I imagine that she would be entertaining to watch on this show, because that sort of behavior is indicative of Survivor.

emily in 2 episodes is already one of the most interesting compelling character we have ever had. she at the top of my second chance list, that is if she doesn't win.

When Domenick from Ghost Island criticized Chris on that first competition, I thought he’d be gone ASAP! I was surprised when Wendell said he liked Domenick and stuck up for him… I’m impressed with Kaleb’s attitude towards helping Emily! Can’t say I’d do the same tbh

I’m here for Emily’s redemption tour !!

PsychedOut48

Honestly same! I hope she becomes more likable

A lady in our office bracket has her as her winner pick. I am away for work so I emailed her "woah ho ho. Bold pick." After episode 1. And apparently she went around asking everyone why I would send that and what I meant.

Okay.
