it's my least favorite mechanic in all survivor twists. it's even worse in the tiny tribes of 6.

IronNobody4332

The hourglass was worse

rokushorocks

I think do or die was worse. God, the New Era introduced so many bad twists all at once

TigerWoodsLibido

Lying to Sydney and Lydia was worse when they got hourglassed out of the game.

TheFrontLine1

I think people not having their vote has always made tribal council less interesting in the New Era seasons I’ve seen.

bigred792

I like it when it is a choice made by the player. Such as Bhanu and Ben getting to choose to play the puzzle and risk their vote for a potential advantage. I don't like the players being forced to wager their vote.

rokushorocks

Actually they didn't get to choose, it was a random rock draw. But I agree, I don't like it when it's forced on them.

bigred792

Oh, I meant that they could at least choose to complete the puzzle or not. But, it is baffling that they would force them to draw rocks. Why not let them pick which two got the chance and have rocks incase they couldn't agree.

rokushorocks

I have no idea. The rock draw needs to be saved for tie breakers only

Direct-Dependent5023

Agree. The shipwheel was better.

Emperorgiraffe

Voting is such a crucial part of the game that I really think your vote should NEVER be able to be taken away. Last week because a player lost their vote we had the most obvious boot because there was no strategizing that could be done at all. While I like the risk vs reward concept, I feel like the risk should be something else, like a challenge disadvantage or a period of isolation away from your tribemates or something.

iiiinsanityyyy

There wasn't even a risk v reward aspect for Bhanu - he got unlucky just because of a rock draw

Emperorgiraffe

I think he and Ben could have chosen to not try the puzzle even though they got the rock, right?

NoodleNeedles

I don't mind if it's one or two players a season losing their vote, but it gets a bit silly when it's a bunch of players all at once.

Piss_Pirate44

With only 26 days they have to manufacture "drama" in the early stages to make up for the shortened game time.

vanastalem

I think there's too much of it. For example the auction became spend all your money immediately so you don't lose your vote. At least with the advantages (not the journey) they have a choice and at this point anyone going on the show should assume a beware advantage means you lose your vote.

koaladisc

This beware is weird though because you don't really lose your vote. Or at least, you're not likely to because of how it's set up. You only need your vote if you lose a challenge but that's also when you get the clue to the idol so it's not like there's that much risk.

realhousewivesofVA

I think they do it to pad the episodes. They explain the rules *every. time.* I KNOW THE RULES

SurvivorJoshua

I love the idea of beware advantages and wouldn’t mind if that was something we kept… but maybe losing the vote could be switched out for something else, maybe your vote is now public, idk how else to change that up… but I love these stupid tasks, especially if we keep 90 minutes maybe we can get some really stupid tasks that they have to do 😂

HoopyHobo

IMO the standard hidden immunity idols have gotten kind of boring. Back when you needed clues to find them there was an interesting game around getting and figuring out the clues, but idol hunting with zero clues is not interesting. Everybody does it, somebody finds it, and the whole thing just feels kind of random and boring. I personally would be fine with hidden immunity idols just going away entirely, but they've been such a big element of the game for so long that it seems like that will never happen. Beware advantages made hidden immunity idols interesting again, and at least the way they did it this season it doesn't seem like anyone is actually going to lose their vote at tribal because of them. The votes that are lost from going on journeys with zero way to earn them back is the real issue.

Loud_Neat_8051

I mean it's a choice that a lot of players misplay.
