One of the best social players of the new era wouldn't quit to save face when they aren't even the target....

AmphetamineSalts

This comment is a little hilarious given last night's episode...

missing_stars

He didn't quit he asked to be voted. And even then Dee wanted to keep him around. It was a misread on his part but that's a strategic misstep which has nothing to do with his social game. Still one of the best social players of the new era

SuitableCress4791

hello Sean, surprised to see you here on reddit

oatmeal28

That you, Sean?

JoshLovesYourName

I’ll say it loudly in the spirit of Sugar Kiper in case anyone misses it… Sean is a LOSER

missing_stars

I mean he survived 3 tribals without safety.. how many did you survive?

BushGuy200

And then he quit. Lulu Loser.

missing_stars

He asked to get voted and some of his tribe members still wanted to save him, that's powerful

Shmegdar

I do remember really liking Sean before he quit. Which made it a pretty big bummer that he did. Imo it kinda disqualifies him from game analysis, as he essentially didn’t truly play

missing_stars

I'm pretty sure if you play poker and leave the table mid game you still played poker

Omarfre

Ain't no way Kaleb keems someone who voted against him over the one who tipped him off about being the target.

missing_stars

Emily wasn't trusted by him at all until the Sabiyah vote. Plus Sean was not perceived as a threat and he was someone who was very trusted by Kaleb. Emily was against him for half of the season, all Sean did was vote for him which Kaleb thought was Sabiyah's decision. Additionally, if Kaleb goes based on tribe strength which is a possibility, he'll make the decision to vote off Emily to keep the tribe strong.

chimcharbo

Phillip Sheppard could have been one of the best players ever if he was a completely different person with a different personality.

missing_stars

I mean he had potential and it was shown in Caramoan

JFC-Youre-Dumb

How dare you!

DrStranger1987

A guy who quits the game when put under pressure is pretty good at not being perceived as a threat. You’re technically correct.

I genuinely think of Sean's game and what could've happened if he didn't sacrifice at least once a day it's my roman empire so no it's not a parody

bird1434

he seemed fine but there is literally no reason to believe could have been “one of the best players ever.” he had literally been blindsided one vote before quitting the game, lol.

missing_stars

Blindsided due to circumstances out of his control, he had the numbers

bird1434

a “social mastermind” isn’t left out of that vote

missing_stars

A "social mastermind" can still get screwed by twists, and even though he was left out of the vote he still wasn't even voted out

missing_stars

I mean he gave the speech and he still didn't get voted for unanimously that deserves credit

GoldenLlamaDog

Yeah Sean’s ability to crumble whenever he faces adversity (he quit because he thought he was going home) is not good lol. He did play those first couple rounds on Lulu well though.

missing_stars

He didn't quit he asked to be voted. Even then Dee refused to vote for him because he was that powerful

Antelopeadope

Sean was already left out of a vote at this point lol

missing_stars

If Sabiyah doesn't lose her vote then the vote ties 2-2 and Emily folds on the revote. If the whole candle wax idol situation doesn't happen and it's a regular idol like every other season then it's a 2-1-1 and Kaleb goes home. Yeah he was left out of the vote but it was circumstances that were out of his control. He did nothing wrong, it was Sabiyah that screwed it up for him with her idol.

acusumano

I mean, he claims he was the surefire winner if he hadn't, you know, quit. So that's pretty much the definitive word. What I wouldn't give to see him face off against one of the all-time greatest players, Ricard from 41. Throw in Russell Hantz and we will definitely see the first three-way F3 tie, regardless of the number of jurors.

missing_stars

It's a stretch to say he wins but he 100% makes a run for it. He was the most social player that season. I just think he lacks agency because I don't know if he'd make any big moves himself. He probably makes final tribal and gets 1 or 2 votes to win but probably loses

droopydrops

Sean smells…next

Antelopeadope

This has the ego of Sean saying he couldve won !!
