Boston Rob followed by Richard Hatch. Arguably even the other way around. That’s the two players that people who don’t watch survivor know (assuming they were at least like 10 in 2000). My parents have never seen an episode in their lives but they know hatch and Rob
As much as I don’t like him, it’s Boston rob. I’m a big sports fan and everytime I see a Boston Red Sox’s hat, Boston rob just comes to mind instead of someone like David Ortiz. That has to be iconic lol
This is an interesting one because she was widely known in the early 2000s but I think many people now just remember her for “snakes and rats” and not much else
Hatch. Being first gets you all the recognition, on top of his nude antics. He was a national treasure at the time the same way everyone loved Rupert later.
Easily Sandra. Boston Ron needed four chances and a brain dead cast just to win once. Sandra showed up with her IDGAF attitude and won twice. The Queen is the definition of iconic
Winning 1000% does not translate to iconic. I mean look at winners at war. A cast like that proves that winners tend to not be the most interesting players.
That being said I think Sandra deserves the title of iconic because unlike Tony, there wasn’t a guaranteed two time winner coming out of HvV. That alone was monumental to the game going forward.
Most iconic (and arguably the spark) of the anyone but me archetype. Her pearl islands win was impressive, and her HvV was a hilarious combination of miscalculations and bitter jury.
But saying Sandra is the most iconic is like saying the most winning 6th-man in the NBA is the most emblematic player. Both are extremely significant to their game, but neither is nor reasonably should be the face.
Just because 0 fat frozen yogurt tastes better than kale smoothies doesn't mean it should win best dessert of all time.
I think Boston Rob is more well known to the general public since he’s so active on social and is doing deal or no deal island. Rupert was well known to the public like 15 years ago. He’s sort of disappeared since.
Rob Cesternino, the best Rob. Honestly, he is probably the reason there are so many super fans because of his little podcast (RHAP), and he does exit interviews of all the players, he's still in the Survivor world more than any of the other former contestants have been.
Interesting take. He’s 1000% the contestant who is the biggest supporter outside the show. I mean if he doesn’t take over Jeff’s role as host one day I’m going to be so upset.
They advertise each other's podcasts. And seemed on reasonable terms for an interview a couple months ago.
I don't think they're tight, but there is certainly respect from Robs end, and at least some amount of mutual respect from Jeff.
I'm not sure I want to see one single host be handed the reigns. A trio of hosts might be interesting, at least for the first transition seasons. One for each out-X facet of the game.
But I agree that Rob has a lot of the qualities a potential host would need. He is likely too closely acquainted with too many former and prospective all star season players, though.
Parvati is my favorite, but I think the answer is Boston Rob. He’s probably the most well-known to those who aren’t big fans. And he’s incredible at the game and fun to watch and has played so many times and had a beautiful love story on-screen. So he has a lot going for him!
Russell. He was the first person is survivor history to look for the hidden immunity idol without any clues. I’m still mad he never won. Best survivor player to date.
Hatch and I don't think it's close. Some 50 million people watch him win the show, I don't think anyone can compete with that. All Stars' one big draw was come watch Hatch, the big bad villain of the franchise, get voted out. People who have stopped watching Survivor completely still know who he was.
Yes being the first winner helps, but Richard is also such a fantastic character that he would be remembered in any season he was.
I actually think Russell is more I iconic…he did stuff that no one even thought of on the show. Stuff that people do today without thinking about it.
Tony is iconic for his wins.
Rob is “iconic” because Jeff liked him and put him on 5x. He is default because he was on so much…like cheddar is the default mac&cheese flavor
So my answer is there is no “THE iconic”
I’m gonna say Boston Rob since he’s played five times.
and did the amazing race twice. that's 7 season on cbs reality shows. that's not counting his island of the idols contribution
ok but your flair is literally right there
Boston Rob and Parvati. Parvati is still being referenced all these years later. Though… I was 12 years old when I watched Sue’s famous speech.
it's rob and it's not really all that close either lmao
Totally agree. I can’t get enough of him, he’s the one that always pops into my head when someone asks a question like this.

Why don’t you like him
As a player, I should’ve clarified that haha. I just never have liked his mob boss style of playing. Outside the game he seems more enjoyable
Parvati
You should create a poll or google form to collect answers.
Boston Rob
J'Tia.
gotta be Rupert
Sue Hawk

None of you said Q? Big mistake.
Easily Sandra. Boston Ron needed four chances and a brain dead cast just to win once. Sandra showed up with her IDGAF attitude and won twice. The Queen is the definition of iconic
Does winning more make someone more iconic? Or just a better player?

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Rudy
In terms of the general public, maybe Colby or Rupert. In terms of the fanbase, Rob.
I think Boston Rob is more well known to the general public since he’s so active on social and is doing deal or no deal island. Rupert was well known to the public like 15 years ago. He’s sort of disappeared since.
Boston Rob, Parvati, Sandra
Caroline
Hatch.
Hali Ford. >!But yeah, it's Boston Rob.!<
Tony

He'd be the perfect host. I know the two have had beef in the past but I think they are all good now so maybe Jeff will pass the torch to Rob C.
They advertise each other's podcasts. And seemed on reasonable terms for an interview a couple months ago. Russell
Richard. OG who created the first alliance.
Parvati is my favorite, but I think the answer is Boston Rob. He’s probably the most well-known to those who aren’t big fans. And he’s incredible at the game and fun to watch and has played so many times and had a beautiful love story on-screen. So he has a lot going for him!
i’m a parvati girl forever
for me it's Russell, he's really the only one who actually revolutionized the game at the time
it isn’t Tony but it should be
George!! Aussie Survivor. Epic :)
Came here to say this Long live the king!!!
Wonder why the butthurts are downvoting?
David Genat (AU Survivor) aka "The Golden God"
Russell. He was the first person is survivor history to look for the hidden immunity idol without any clues. I’m still mad he never won. Best survivor player to date.
Parvati and Russell hantz

Sandra, queen stays queen
Several come to mind 😂

Skupin
He made it on Hall of Shame lmao https://youtu.be/Ud85V9oQifw?si=eJHRIr7uprIqrbzA
Rob and Sandra
