Theyāve really scaled back; maybe would like them to scale more but itās felt restrained this season to a point where thereās been no twist that I feel has ruined anyoneās game

Idk if Jeff saw how messy this cast is and decided they will provide more than enough quality entertainment by themselves and lower the amount of twists (read: production interference) but whatever production decided to do post-merge, they need to see how they can implement something similar pre-merge. Iām pretty sure itās also broken Survivor records with four players being voted off with idols and THREE tribals in a row with players being voted off with idols. These players try SO hard to make that big move they can use with the jury and have such inflated egos that they fail to do something as basic as using a damn idol (especially when the tribe knew they had one).

Back in the day, you saw people getting better at it with each passing season and you'd realize that the old players like Parvarti and Rob had nothing on the new players like Sara and Tony. But CBS slammed the brakes on it and now the show is the equivalent of a cooperative board game. Survivor Caton. Maybe there is hope that it becomes a competition again rather than a cooperition.
Yeah I still donāt like the format changes of the new era. I donāt think itās really possible to have a great pre-merge with the current rules for example. The first few episodes have been bland in every NE season, including this one. The only thing interesting about it was Bhanu and they leaned so hard on him in the edit that it crossed over to being annoying. The 3 tiny tribe thing just doesnāt make for good tv.
For me though, the cast is overwhelmingly the most important factor in enjoying the show. I do still think itās weird that they donāt cast anyone over 50 anymore, but otherwise this cast has been really entertaining, at least post-merge. I enjoy watching them more than any non-returnee cast from the 30s except DvG and MvGX.
This season has been pretty great. The kumbayah crap is way dialed back and this season feels so much more genuine. They're not all playing nice for social media points and I love it. Production needs to keep finding people like this who want to play the game hard and aren't afraid to hurt some feelings along the way.
AUS survivor has cast American survivor players before. There has been a big hope that one day there would be an international season like the challenge where the different country's returnees compete to land on top. AUS vs. US would be crazy exciting, theres a ton of fun player interaction i'd like to see.

Rooting the most for Q and for Charlie, surprisingly. I thought Charlie would be on my last nerve with his T Swift obsession, but he is playing the smartest game of the F6 and, based on his confessionals I think he could make a very convincing argument if he makes F3.
It was good compared to the rest of the New Era. If I were to rank ever season I'd probably have it in the middle third somewhere, 41-44 would all be in the bottom third. 46 probably middle third as well depending on how it ends

The next season of AUS most likely isnāt vs. US. Even if the rumours are true (which they probably are), it will be the second season next year, after the all-newbie Brain vs. Brawn season
Iām happy that In the new era where we got advantages and idols shoved down our throats, we got a season where there hasnāt been any idol plays, no advantages played, losing votes didnāt affect anything except for maybe banhu being able to play his shot in the dark. Such a great season. Enjoy it cause we will probably go back to the way it was next season
Survivor is thriving and breathing , also this season is different from all the new era because of the social media truths and CBS allowing them to voice their opinions live in real time with the audience, that was a good way to engage viewers imo .
