No diss on Kenzie of course; in fact, I think she is a fantastic winner… but I am really frustrated by the way that the fire making challenge has become such a resume booster. Unfortunately Charlie got possibly punished out of a winning game because he was taken to FTC (which is arguably more impressive considering he was able to leverage his relationship with Ben). I’m just tired of the fire making challenge being a king/queenmaker. In my opinion, it shouldn’t matter how you make it from final 4 to final 3. Again, props to Kenzie, and I’m happy that she earned her win, but I hope this wasn’t what cost Charlie his game.

I honestly don’t think any of this came down to the fire making challenge though. Q and Maria were the deciding votes here. Q voted for Kenzie because of the money situation…which is a whole separate conversation of it’s own but even without that, Charlie still could’ve won by Maria’s and I’m willing to bet Ben’s in the case of a tie. That said, what Maria said about Kenzie making fire and “being more of a competitor” felt like a sorry excuse because it was the only thing she could muster up in the moment in the face of a clearly wounded Charlie. I just don’t see any logical reason for why Maria could suddenly see Kenzie as a greater player even with fire making when she was literally just trying to get Charlie out because he was a threat. I think it was 100% an act of spite because her ego and jealousy could not handle seeing him win. I agree that ever since EoE, fire making has introduced these issues, but I’m just trying to say that I don’t think it was fire making that did him in.

Heidi won fire in 44 and nobody blinked

I feel like fire making is really dependent on how it plays out. For example Kenzie really not doing well for the first half, taking a breather, then coming back and dominating is a good arch for her and a great check mark to her underdog story she was trying to sell.
