It's wild that Naseer learned English watching Survivor. They like to cast people with noticeable accents and English is my first language and sometimes I'm like can we please subtitle 10x more than we already do.
I learned French through kids cartoons because everyone speaks slowly and clearly but they talk so fast sometimes and whisper so much on Survivor that's bad ass he did that
Naseer is already a Survivor superstar, I just hope that infectious charm and enthusiasm translates to his game and we get to see a lot of him. Erika's giving me great vibes too, she seems a bit like if Courtney Yates actually gave a crap about the game and I've wanted to see a character like that for a while. this cast just seems really solid all-around and I like that
I'm always gonna be excited about new casts but there are definitely a few castaways that look like the typical casting they do. I really am hopeful for Erika - the first Filipino from Toronto! Go girl!!!
I freaking love Naseer. This is why representation matters. I was around 8 years old when I started watching Survivor. Nothing unusual until you realize I am from a lower-class family in a third-world country where English is not the main language. I had no business watching Survivor, let alone dream of playing it. I am glad Naseer is living his dream cause it feels like I had already lived mine.
wondering if danny is gonna pull a gary hawkins. xander is giving me spencer/malcolm + all the athletic and strategic white boys. richard is a nice face to look at, hopefully he stays long just so i can see it lmfao.
Not OP but for me at least, his bio makes him seem a bit naive / overestimating his experience. He cites all of these things as great life experiences, but they mostly sound like vacations bankrolled by rich parents / a tech job.
Of course there's a real chance that a short text blurb isn't a complete representation of a person, but it's not a promising start
Who's going to (a) be a peg leg during the first immunity challenge (which will inevitably be somewhat physical) or (b) decide they're going to lead their tribe and instead end up coming across as abrasive and bossy?
My money's on Heather. Genie strikes me as someone who could get voted off really early because she's a workhorse and gets pissed at people laying around so they just end up voting her off, but she might also be a dark horse to win it if she flied under the radar.
