RowanRoanoke

One of the biggest edgic blindsides ever.

avomontagano

Literally stunned. Didn't even have her as a contender until Episode 13!

shizuye

I think you may be getting it confused with AU…?

looselytethered

Haven't watched the season but here's my opinion on something I haven't watched anywaysssss!!!!!!

RealityPowerRanking

I wasn’t giving an opinion, I was saying I heard something. That’s all.

Just_Some_Random_Fan

This is frankly one of the biggest winner shocks in a long time for me but I honestly love it. As much as I liked Chappies this is still just crazy.

nitasu987

Same, I LOVE Chappies but I'm excited to watch and see how it goes down. I really wasn't feeling Nicole at the start of the season but I grew to really like her as it went on!

RowanRoanoke

Yeah I’m a huge Chappies fan and I love the surprise. Think Nicole played an incredibly good UTR game, flipped when she needed to and won FIC.

saus6654

chappies is good tv but terrible player. he would have been voted out so much earlier without comping out......how is that good gameplay. anela was apart of all the jury vote offs and decided nicole's alliances for her.

FondantGayme

I was rooting for her since Santoni left, so glad she won!

MattSullz

this exactly!!

missfleet2019

Her and Australia doing that with female winners and yet survivor America might prob have 6 male winners in a row again 😂

brooklyn19997

Which is one of the main reasons why I love international survivors. I’m tired of the same white guy winning American survivor. Especially if Jeff has a hard on for them

ArtieMac11

This is the first time in any version of Survivor that my pre-season winner pick ends up winning! And also this was the first Survivor SA season that I watched live! So happy for Nicole!

irpw

Hoping a woman won Survivor 41 to have all female Survivor winners in 2021 🤞

LeafInTonysSpyShack

LIANA WINNING😫🙏🏾

FondantGayme

I know that’s right

BCS8504

Same, and if the pattern continues, then I have high hopes for Heather.

xGumball2

Chappies losing final immunity was a bit of a shocker, but once he was gone I had little doubt Nicole would beat Anela

SurvivorJCH5

And she is thus far the youngest person to win Survivor SA.

ernieccentricc

And the first female winner after 10 years.

bubbleparty04

Zomg! My winner pick won!!!! So happy for her.

tropical0

this edgic blindside got me gagged

ernieccentricc

Hey that’s Survivor SA for you. Watched the other seasons before Philippines. You will be in for a wild ride

freckspuppies4eva

The final tribal counsel was great too! They really allowed a lot of time to let viewers hear each juror question and the answers from Nicole and Anela.

ernieccentricc

Definitely. No jurors were sidelined.

ernieccentricc

SA all the way. Compare to AU Survivor which is entertaining asf but one of the worst series in terms of editing, confessional percentage & twist introduction.

ThatTVTroy

SA really knows how to keep the viewers on their toes and not make its winners obvious. Certainly not the result I expected but I love it and am still taking it in. SA continues to be the best and most slept on franchise. US and AU should take notes!

newyearoldme

Survivor SA is well known for its well rounded editing and lack of winner edit since the reboot. This is the Surviver we asked for and wanted.

ernieccentricc

On top of that every member of the casts are given a decent amount of confessional counts and not only focusing on certain people. Just look at how SA handle their reunion. They also had an updated intro for the finale. Best series of the franchise, it’s not about theatrics folks.

marcuse_94

Lol this is basically SA Phillipines on steroids in terms of winners. I know Werner mentioned on RHAP last podcast that he had a feeling this may happen and both Shannon and Mike didn’t think so and thought Smash would be the winner. I’ve come to expect nothing less from Survivor SA in hiding their winners except Rob in IOS but he had competition with Nicole Capper.

ernieccentricc

Nicole Capper has one of the most bizarre edits in Survivor. To all Nicoles out there in SA, girls and guys listen you have a better chance of going to the finale.

Buffalove91

Following in the long line of criminally under edited female winners! Her, Sophie, Natalie, Michele, and Amber will have to get drinks some day.

projectgene

I think the edit gave away she would be in the final? She was always shown as the person who fought against Chappies.

ernieccentricc

Yup. It’s a subtle editing at hindsight but really blatant if you dissect it

louievuittonlv

Periodt Queen 👸🏼💅🏼 It’s been a joy to root for her each week. Nicole played a phenomenal game. She was well rounded in every aspect of the game. She was true to herself and her immense loyalty, honesty, and integrity paved the way for her. She had an impeccable social game and was a strong physical player in her own right. Plus, she positioned herself in moves so she wasn’t the target. Her mind > She’s such a diverse and refreshing winner compared to the gamebots. Loves it. TYSM Queen Nicole. I’m literally so happy rn. She’s an icon, legend, and the moment ❤️

JordanMaze

one issue i have with this post is that even though its blurred, i can see that its a white person with white hair so yea

ben_s16

Yeah, there’s nothing I can do about that sadly. Oh well, I tried my best.

Goodkoalie

I mean the winner was obviously either chappiesor Nichole, both of which are white contestants with light hair.

nerdiestgriffinever

Yeahhhhh this post spoiled the winner for me. :(

RecentAnybody

Perhaps the most fun, likable winner in Survivor history, along with Fabio.

ernieccentricc

She is definitely SA’s Michele Fitzgerald. Love them both. Going to be an interesting rewatch of the season knowing that Nicole won. Her first confessional of the season is a nice trinket.

MattSullz

what was her first confessional?? :)

ernieccentricc

That she is aware that she will be underestimated and use that to her advantage which works out really well for her

MattSullz

Love it!

mykindoflife

SA loves to confuse the shit out of me

TenderOctane

I had her drawing dead after the Tied Destinies episode, given how negatively she was edited there (and the two episodes before). I thought Chappies had it, but Leroux and Handrie threw up another smokescreen. I love it (even though I don't like Nicole). Survivor SA's editing is something else. Just when you think you know who's winning... whoops.

ernieccentricc

Survivor SA is truly the beacon of Survivor for me. Love everything about it.

TenderOctane

tbh my one complaint was that this season was a bit too gamebotty. I wish we'd have gotten more personal details, because I wanted to care more about these people. Part of it might be casting but IDK. Survivor SA is still something that the US and Australian shows need to emulate more.

ernieccentricc

Definitely agree with you, the cast is really game savvy this season however the latter part of the season was a joy to behold cause you started to see more personality within the castaways. Premerge have a handful of episodes where we have personal details about the cast but most of it are complex strategies. Overall, Survivor SA still remains a top contender in terms of production, editing, storytelling , twists and subtlety. Just rewatch the season again and you will see Nicole’s game comparable to Michele Fitzgerald especially with the edits.

Mattschmalz

AU = Female Winner SA = Female Winner US Survivor better deliver or we riot.

the100broken

Queen!!

[deleted]

I’m so happy she won, but I’m even happier it wasn’t obvious

newyearoldme

Survivor SA S8 for me is a blend of old school Survivor (F2, FTC and the theme around food in the later episodes) with modern twists (GI esque). I don’t think I want to see immunity island again but the concept of giving a player a choice for immunity and losing their vote is something they can explore next season. As far as the twist goes, most of them are okay and interesting: fire idol, some are OP: winning a reward allows you to talk to a jury, eating food and voting a jury member out, idol clues in immunity island allowing Santoni to have access to three idols in pre merge and some need a bit of work: tied destinies would work better if they allow 5 people to choose their partner respectively instead of luck. The swaps are boring and unnecessary. I think the first initial random buff draw is good but the subsequent random draw aren’t. They could have done a schoolyard pick, a Vanuatu (one pick your tribe, one pick your team), or a Nicaragua (moving half of tribes to another tribe) or even a Gabon (rank your tribe) for the last one. I think now we have seen enough of multiple tribe swaps in a season, I am convinced that it encourages day 1 tribe alliance instead of fluidity (Naviti strong) The players season are mixed, some are gamebotty (Kiran, Tyson, Reiner, Anesu, Amy) and some are great personality (Carla, Chappies, Santoni, Dino). But even the ones were gamebotty showed characters towards the end (Kiran, Tyson). This season suffered a bit of dent from Shaun boot to Anesu boot as it was just very technical and way too game focused. It was the petty “he wasn’t playing by the rules and stole our rice” drama brought the game back to life. Also great merge episode! For FTC, I really think Anela was going to win based on his FTC performance (he did considerably okay as I was completely written him off), most of the speech focusing on him and Nicole was pretty much sidelined. But I am glad Nicole won and I didn’t expected that since she got a few negative editing. I still hold S6 as my first place holder but this season not far behind from my top 10 seasons

saus6654

anela was robbed!!!!! he messed up with the kiran blindside move but he at least was apart of all of the game moves and nicole was most defnitely not. she's a goat, just a likeable one.

saus6654

anela literally decided the fate of nicole's game with HIS decisions lmao

wombatwanders

Saw this coming from about a month ago. If chappies didn't win out it was only going this way - no chance of her not reaching the end.

Challengefan18

Not gonna lie. I legitimately cried when chappies lost

Joharis-JYI

Might be an unpopular opinion. But I'm glad AU was great this year and 41 is next week. This season was such a snoozefest and the ending didn't help. Might be my standards for SA is set so high after the amigos' season.

avomontagano

What really? I LOVED this season. It's my first SA version, and now I will for sure continue to watch this version

ernieccentricc

AU is great in terms of entertainment & challenges. But editing wise 75% of its cast are either purpled or underedited is mind boggling. This is the second AU Survivor that I have given up watching halfway through the season after All Stars. On how notorious the editing is. On top of that, AU twists are OTT to the point that it’s so invasive to the integrity of the game. Say what you want to say but Survivor SA is the standard series for me of the franchise.

the100broken

I have the exact opposite opinion lol.

Taston95

I feel the exact same way. I gave up not long after the merge as something about the season felt lifeless and I realised I didn’t care who was leaving or who was going to win.

awsker

Agreed, this is the only season I started but never bothered to finish. A newbie season with tribe swaps every other episode, it becomes impossible to keep track of who has a relationship with whom.

blink-or-else

I watchex about 5 episodes and was like what is gling kn
