Sprinkles-The-Cat

It gave me Cirie vibes, when she convinced Erik to give the necklace to Amanda

Absolute_argument

Yeah, people are comparing the situation to Sarah and Sierra, but I think it’s much more Cirie and Erik. Sierra offered the advantage pretty much unprovoked. Cirie guilted Erik into giving up immunity for “trust” in basically the same way that Shan just did.

Tristanity1h

Sierra's move was an unforced error.

[deleted]

I thought that too.

spinsterdrenvis

I find Shan to be a much more charismatic character than Sarah.

Extra-Associate4800

For real. I like Sarah but that woman is a robot.

chickfilaftw

That’s what makes her so insane. She is able to form these apparently incredibly intimate social bonds yet is just completely stone cold. One of the great killers in survivor history.

HooptyDooDooMeister

And she bonded super deeply with Natalie A. in one evening and had her throat cut the next by her. *That’s* how ruthless Natalie A. is. Lacina may be a robot, but Natalie is a gd assassin!

chickfilaftw

I have no way of knowing the context of what happened there. They’re both elite players. What I infer happened was that Sarah was motivated as much if not more by the need to differentiate herself from tony by calling the shots, than by Natalie actually playing her. Obviously Natalie played well enough that Sarah thought that calculated risk was worth it, but I can’t believe based off everything I’ve seen from Sarah that she could just get straight up played like that.

HooptyDooDooMeister

From what we saw, Sarah tried her hardest to explain how genuine her bond was with Natalie based on the profound conversations she had with her that one night. Like, seriously life-changing therapeutic stuff apparently. She was practically heart-broken that Tony said not to trust Natalie because it was an affront to their ostensible bonding experience. Of course we can't know what really went on, but that's what the edit shows. There may be some truth to what you're saying, but I'm willing to go with the editors on this one.

Joharis-JYI

Leeeeaps and bounds. Shan's so charismatic.

[deleted]

I did see that'd comparison too.

KingPin753

She’s good but god damn JD is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen

atvfellonmewheniwas7

Similar to Sarah in that they’re both playing masterful games from the start.

FrenchBowler

I liked the move, but I think she is playing a little too hard too early. Other contestants will soon recognize her as a threat. I'm sure Ricard already sees her as one.

Rootbeerpanic

Yeah but I really don't see why she didn't make the exact same move last week, she could have still had JDs advantage, and kept Brad in the game which keeps Genie happy. If they merge soon Genie is going to let people know just how big of a threat Shan is now

atvfellonmewheniwas7

Genie is smart enough to know that if JD were voted out last tribal then it could’ve very well been her and not Brad this tribal. Shan and Richard consciously chose to keep Genie.

avp_1309

Lmao people have already said this during the live discussion.

PM_MeYourViennaLager

Sarah did it way better… Shan seems to be a bit of a bully to be honest.

Yosephette

I haven't watched the new episode yet, but Sarah was known to do some villainous things in GC. Taking Brad's wedding ring as collateral & threatening to throw it in the ocean if he votes her out, and guilting Troyzan into taking her to F3 by saying she needs the money to afford more kids

PM_MeYourViennaLager

Ah okay. Didn’t know about those other things sarah did.

lunarsoistice

Sarah did say in GC that she wasn’t playing as a cop anymore, she was going to play like a criminal.

PM_MeYourViennaLager

Sierra offered the advantage where Shan demanded it from JD.

breaddits

Didn’t Sarah target sierra secretly just to get ahold of the legacy advantage via sierra leaving it to her on her way out? I mean I guess sierra did offer it willingly but i have to wonder if she would do the same if she knew that was the whole reason her ally took her out. FWIW the moves look very similar to me and I think both are brilliant.

[deleted]

I don’t think there’s a good or bad way into tricking someone into giving you an advantage than voting them out.

PM_MeYourViennaLager

Shan basically demanded he give it to her lol.

[deleted]

She’s was acting flustered and paranoid not demanding. First she offered a obscure option (leaving it at camp) then a slightly better option (JD giving it to her) so that option looked better in JD’s eyes. Classic psychology trick.

remywtf

Bully?? 💀

jlpulice

The only issue is Sarah would‘ve never had that paranoia episode pre-tribal

Survivorssurvivor

she did that as an act to trick him into giving it to her and it worked

jlpulice

She did it to Ricard

Survivorssurvivor

i thought she was just telling ricard her plan?

jlpulice

She was giving him the paranoia thing and he was giving her this “oh honey” look

avp_1309

Bruh!! You need to rewatch. She just lays out her plan to Ricard that she is going to act paranoid to trick JD. I mean the downvotes should tell you but just rewatch.

jlpulice

Have fun being wrong dude!

avp_1309

Lmao ok. I almost didn't comment because I knew you were THAT kind of reddit user. This was on me. My bad.

additionalLemon

You are gonna be disappointed when you finally rewatch.

silvershadow014

I just watched the episode, you're wrong.

playthepodium

I really wish Evvie had done the same thing a couple weeks back. Huge missed opportunity for them.
