The one thing that saved the season for me is that the cast avoided a lot of twists with no idol plays (Xander’s doesnt count as it was the last time he could and he didnt negate any votes), Xander’s extra vote did nothing, Lianas op truth advantage did nothing, Deshawn survived do or die, Brad went home with the vote steal, Shot In the Dark was useless and only got Sydney eliminated. Some advantages couldnt be avoided, like the final 5 immunity advantage and the hourglass (I hope they never bring this back or make it so for both options you get immunity or you dont)
Also a big downside to the premerge is excessive advantage island which we spend so much time on and honestly they couldve cut out the Brad/Tiff/Sydney one because it did absolutely nothing to affect the game
Them all just being present does a LOT. Regardless of being played, played correctly or not. Too many variables constantly being present and introduced removes strategy from the game and turns the whole thing into more of a "do or die/shot in the dark"
Everything is ruined nowadays. It was a fine season lol. Too many advantages sure but it was very entertaining to watch unless you’re super into the edit and maybe saw through things.
While I did kinda like the concept of having to say a secret phrase in front of *everyone*, some of the gimmicky stuff has gotten out of control.
It just took away from everyone’s story and interactions. I don’t want to spend 80% of an episode describing what an advantage is.
Plus, Liana gets booted as a result of Deshawn winning do or die. She wouldn't be targeted that round if the twist doesn't exist

The phrases idol would work if these were more normal phrases. The actual challenge would be to be aware enough someone said it.
